"You vere ekshpecting maybe Lessie?"

The CIA isn't just subverting American policy from within: thanks to a 70-year campaign of covert influence, it's now choosing which imperial errand boys, Epstein fan club presidents, couriers of Nazi gold, and think-tank génocidaires wind up on your ballots.

This episode was like a speedrun of the history of CIA involvement in post-WWII history, and I loved it. I implore anyone interested in the CIA's involvement with LSD to check out Martin A. Lee & Bruce Shlain's book "Acid Dreams". Of particular interest in it is information about the mysterious figure named Ronald Hadley Stark, a wealthy polymath who worked with Hitchcok to set up factories all around Europe for producing massive quantites of LSD distributed by the Brotherhood of Eternal Love. An Italian judge determined that he was a CIA agent and released him after being jailed for drug trafficking in Italy. Read more here https://belhistory.weebly.com/ronald-stark.html

Good stuff, not a lot of discussion about Obama’s mother and her curious history as an “anthropologist”. Possibly the only academic I’ve ever heard of who never published a single academic paper until after her death. I’d love to get ahold of her book on Indonesia, which I heard is laughably simple and lacks any citations.

Hope you're doing OK Micheal. Dunno if you noticed how much the True Anon fans enjoyed your appearance but it was a really great episode for them.

Dude, sounds like you've been having a rough time. Just wanna say thanks for all the hard work, love listening to these episodes

I need to hear more about Art Bell, TV dinners and Donald Judd

Great episode, and as someone who's an alumnus of Not'er Dayme* , can vouch for all kinds of secret-menu Catholicism going on around an off campus. Never heard about Opus Dei while there, but of course they probably knew not to approach me, and besides the whole point of that thing is that it's something people don't know about. The only residential area dedicated to a deliberate religious community (besides garden-variety Catholicism) was Old College, which was where dudes discerning their priestly calling with the CSC lived in some pretty swanky circumstances, all things considered (single-residence rooms, they had their own kitchen, and could violate curfew all they wanted to). If anyone else had a whole building, I didn't know, but there was a lot not to know there. *

Just one question about this whole thing -- is the CIA finding Trump an obstacle to what they're doing, or does it not matter?

Hallo Michael, hope your hanging in. Continuing to appreciate these eps and my place in the True An👁 n to Death Is pipeline. I both hope and fear you’ll watch the RNC too; I’m tempted by the St Louis litigious mansion-defenders. À ta santé..

Matthew Williams

I knew about the Dutroux affair but had no idea about opus dei/Jacques Thoma or any CIA connections, does anyone have a source for this cause all I can find is right wing cranks?

Gee Mama

Nice job on the pronunciation of "Khruschev" but if you're 100% gunning for authenticity then it's actually "khruschOff"

Gustave Courbet

Michael: much respect and appreciation for your work and your struggle.

Great Reagan impression

Fred

Fantastic show, thank you

Riley

Great episode. I always thought of the CIA drug trade as mere fundraising, but now I’m thinking more that global drug trade is a key lever of power.

Luke

Micheal you do some fantastic work with this show. You’ve exposed me to more mind-bending historical info than any single source I’ve ever encountered. Hang in there and keep up the good work. The world needs your take on things and its gonna have more of an impact than you might realize.

cyberbasque

went a little crazy in the spring trying to put together on paper something as concise as this so thank you very much. love the show and thank you for bearing the weight
