Roscuro

Oh? This should be interesting.

Biase Deyes

I like how there is apparently a stronger word for 'no'.

Courtney Rayle

Uh oh. Turning from, “no, I will not be violent,” to, “I WILL HURT YOU!” is not a good move. Also, what is going on with his back? That’s important, methinks.

Aulderbane

The bug-dude SHALL NOT ABIDE!

Ezylderg

o boi he angy

Vicki M.

Seems like the only reasonable response to what amounts to a genocidal conspiracy. Whether it's the one they were hoping for, though, is another question!

John C Butler

Looks like a combat display. Kal is PISSED.

Courtney Rayle

Oh, I don’t disagree at all. I am 100% on Kal’s side. His actions just don’t align with his words and sentiment of non-violence in a way that they might take badly and then attack back. And I don’t want anything to happen to Kal, so I’m not sure if I want that.

Finvaara

Here we see a Kalkgur in it's natural environment; violently rejecting conspiracy and hypocrisy as his elders have told him is correct. I have never identified more with a giant bone worm in my life than I do right now.

Thorin N. Tatge

I wonder if this is still part of the test.

Andrew Denton

Congratulations! You've successfully raised a true believer of your lies, who holds them as his personal truth! Please open to the chapter in your textbook, 'So You've Started A Schism'.

That Harper Gal

I am legitimately surprised that they don't think there's a peaceful way forward *without* the eventual, explosive violence ending. Like, come on, y'all. You go far enough together, and maybe you can get the humans to go *somewhere else*?

Jay Enfield

His power level has increased and he's gone Super-Baxxid, this is signified by the emergence of a larger and brighter hairstyle.

ComicTF

EVA Unit 01 has entered berserker mode

Ngrasta

Looks like Baxxid (or at least Kalgkur) don't handle cognitive dissonance very well.

valsalia

In the end, it has to be this way

valsalia

This is a baxxid's "interested" pose

valsalia

They got a bunch of sound-meanings!

valsalia

Oh that's just the ol' neck wigglies

valsalia

Lol 30 seconds before this, I had just finished telling someone I enjoy White Russians

valsalia

How can you be sure that's not his hug-preparation stance!!

valsalia

Friday is a good day for boneworm-identifying

valsalia

Maybe, life itself is the test

valsalia

Turns out that's 90% of the textbook

Ezylderg

tru, them grippy bois comin out his back look good for grabbin

valsalia

Yeah that's more of a RightBrain sorta thing

Raan

Maybe it's some sort of test by the elders?

CCK

Sure hope so. Although calming Kal down with "all part of the test, young one. Well done" might be a bit harder than just saying that... ...or not. Baxxids kinda don't think the way we do. Kal might be fully accepting of that, given a moment to think about it.

Christopher Overbeck

TBH I assumed that was obviously what was going on here. This way they have good proof that his actions were actually an accident.

Lurk

Well, if the council is secretly plotting, and this is all a very closely guarded secret... Imagine if Kalkgur actually manages to take out the council! If he escapes, he'll be on the run as a wanted criminal, but the rest of the Baxxid might never learn of the council's deception; thus Baxxid society will continue down the peaceful path it was tricked into.

Lurk

Ah, so many things could happen! Perhaps if most Baxxid are like Kalkgur, on the day of the Elder's planned uprising, the majority of the Baxxid might just refuse violence. The new beliefs are just too heavily ingrained perhaps! Then again, the Elders could manufacture a crisis to get the Baxxid to do what they want unwittingly. However in that event, Baxxid have trouble thinking abstractly (and the Elders might have a false sense of superiority that may cloud their judgment), so things might not go as planned for them! Due to this disparity of abstract thought, the Elders are likely unaware of all the possible contingency plans that the Trademaster probably has for such an Uprising. He's got to have several, the schemer that he is! Boneworms getting unruly? Flood their tunnels and see if they want to negotiate then! Or maybe evacuate the city, only to leave a trail of synthetic Indrel scent of "hive enemies here, kill" right into the Baxxid. He also is amassing artifacts; reducing the Baxxid to traumatized Yinglets en masse might be possible!

BiasMushroom721

Now I wonder, is this actually what their plan is, or is this just a continuation of the test?

Vet

The Truth. Kal now knows the plan….humans will die at the claws of baxxids….when the time is right.

Ihtio

And we thought Yannit was the one to become unstable/dangerous...

valsalia

Helps when you have stabbers growing out of you

valsalia

"We need to test how good he is at delivering death threats"

valsalia

So intense he popped his neck wigglers!

Flora P-Stylianides

He did! I wonder what those are. They don't seem like the funnel-shaped things on the sleeping Baxxid

valsalia

It turns out, killing the High Elders makes him the new King Of The Worms!

Lurk

Oh dang! Boneworm succession laws be brutal!

GreyHooves

Can't wait to see how many faceplate dicks Nell manages to chisel by the end of all this

valsalia

I wish somebody would tell me!!

valsalia

They're wait-and-ambush predators, after all

valsalia

All it takes is one bad day, and alla that!

BiasMushroom721

Man, pre-writer me would have been like "YOU ARE THW WRITER!" But Writer me knows that exactly

valsalia

You're not yourself when you're hungry. *Kal eats a Snickers, turns out he was actually Marsha Brady the whole time
