Rounders (1998) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

Chase

Fun Fact: Matt Damon and Edward Norton have discussed the possibility of a "Rounders" sequel, and both Damon and Norton have expressed interest.

Steve Mercier

Watched this movie way too many times when I was younger. Edward Norton is such a piece of shit in this--I mean that as a compliment to the actor. And John Malkovich is a god. Have you guys seen Being John Malkovich? I try not to be the recommend-a-movie-in-the-comments guy, but that's one of my all-time favorites. Either way, good shit.

Chase

Schmitt, now you have to show Sam The Incredible Hulk, Edward was the best Hulk 😎, she’s gonna love ❤️ him in that!

Mr. Chumpus

Been waiting years for this one

Keith Brown

I love the 1965 modern comedy western "The Rounders" starring Henry Fonda and Glenn Ford . Imagine "Yellowstone" but a comedy !

American History X is amazing

thomas king

In the Line of Fire is a great with John Malkovich as the Villain to Clint Eastwood

Florian Meier

John Malkovich is one of the Best!!! Totally Agree !!!

Florian Meier

I really love this Film !!! John Malkovich as Teddy KGB is always great to Watch ;) Mr Son of a Bitch:) Guys Please do more Malkovich like "In The Line Of Fire" with Clint Eastwood (One of my Favorite Films) and " Being John Malkovich"

Mike Medaugh

I hope The Hustler wins the sports poll or you watch it at some point. The sequel The Color of Money was filmed 25 or 30 years after. Along those lines Norton has said this is how he figured a Rounders sequel would work. Mike and Worm 30 years later.

Mike Medaugh

This movie is widely considered the starting point for the poker boom of the early 2000's. Both Damon and Norton played in the WSOP and both had pretty exciting hand they busted on.

Birdie Num Num

John Dahl, the director, made 2 great neo noirs in the early 90s - Red Rock West and The Last Seduction.

TGrimace

I was so excited when you said that The Hustler was leading the polls. Classic, amazing Paul Newman movie. Then I went to check on the poll, and was sad :( Great reaction to Rounders. Enjoyed it a lot!

Chase

Agreed

TBR Schmitt

We have not seen it! I think we had it in a poll before and it’s definitely one I want to check out! JM is awesome! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

I still can’t believe this! I definitely need to watch it! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Haven’t seen Yellowstone but a comedy western sounds fun! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

LOL we probably should have checked that! -Sam

Keith Brown

Oh Please do , thanks ! I think a great pair is "Support Your Local Sheriff" and it's sequel "Support Your Local Gunfighter" ! Both starred the great James Garner and they both honor and spoof westerns in the best way before "Blazing Saddles" came along a couple years later. The granddaddy of comedy westerns is 1939's "Destry Rides Again" starring James Stewart !

Steve Mercier

The movie you're think of--'He's a mate, so what can you do?'--is Transpotting. Which you fucking hated. Good times.

Joel P

This is a movie you can enjoy more the *less* you know about poker.

Chris Bruneau

Well, glad you both liked it!!! "Meester Sun-of-beetch" :) LOLOL

Nicotti

So I guess next month you're watching Ed Norton's Hulk? 😂

Mr. Chumpus

I agree with other comments...In the line of fire is a must watch

Vwlss Nvwls

The Hustler, and it's sequel The Color of Money are both great watches. I really enjoyed this movie, but I also really like playing poker, but despite that it is just really well done and interesting. I honestly think this movie would not be half as good if it starred anyone other than Matt Damon. He just has a way of making this kind of character so real and intriguing.

TBR Schmitt

Can’t wait to get to them! Matt Damon was so great in this! -Sam

John Sutherland

Yeah, I remember this movie actually came out in theaters a few months after Good Will Hunting and just a few weeks after Saving Private Ryan, Matt Damon really blew up that year. This opened at number one but it was a slow week so it wasn't a huge opening, and it never really gets talked about. But one of my favorites. Amazing reaction guys!
