Help pick the Horror movie we will react to!

Please feel free to suggest other options in the comments for future polls!

NOTE: Sam has seen The Others so this would only be my first time watching!

Comments

Jason Dolan

Night of the Living Dead is fundamental

Henry Graham

Voting for Possession because it feels like it was made by actual insane people.

Chris

The Witch 🙏

Lynette Cummins

Even though Sam has seen The Others it's a must see. It's get my vote because it's a movie that keeps you guessing.

Paul Cox

I used to think a reaction to Possession would be fun, until I saw one and realized it's actually a movie people should experience on their own.

Boris-N

I voted the same, and agree 😄

Boris-N

Any horror movie poll without David Cronenberg can't be taken seriously.

Renee S

If Night of the Living Dead is on the poll, you're obligated to do that one. All other movie options are filler this time around just so you can say you have a full poll up on Patreon :)

thansen

Honestly, not many I would recommend but since I have not seen it yet I voted for Night of the Living Dead 1968.

Vincent Hollow

Is this the time for The Blob to finally come through? I reaaaaalllllly hope so!

Boris-N

I would add to it the sequel, Dawn of the dead (1978)

Shehab Dawoud

Some good ones here. Night is a horror staple, so I'm not surprised. Some others I'd love to see in the future: The Birds (1963) The Howling (1981) Angel Heart (1987) The Devil's Advocate (1997) The Blair Witch Project (1999) Final Destination (2000), maybe you've seen it? The Visit (2015) The Lighthouse (2019) The Invisible Man (2020) Thanksgiving (2023) The First Omen (2024) Nosferatu (2024)

Backlog Andy M.

Blob 1988. Bloody hell not seen that since 1988!

Grumpy Old Gen-Xer

There are literally more than a thousand horror films made in the 20th Century and yet 8 of the 14 films on this list are from the 2000s. Recency bias much?!!

mikethemotormouth

Pretty sure they have seen all the Final Destination movies

Boris-N

I agree. So much old stuff worth watching like Dawn of the Dead (1978)

Dan

The Blob is so underrated!

Shehab Dawoud

Yeah probably if they haven’t watched it on the channel 5 years in.

Vincent Hollow

If you haven't, you should see IMMACULATE. It came out around the same time as The First Omen, and they both have similar plots, but after watching them both back-to-back, I found Immaculate to be a much scarier and unsettling experience. I would definitely recommend it.

Shehab Dawoud

Yeah I disagree. I thought The First Omen was better, and since they've seen the original, it would make more sense. Immaculate was good, though.

Vincent Hollow

You're due for a rewatch. I put that one on at least once a year, along with The Thing and The Fly.

mikethemotormouth

The Cell(2000) High Tension(2003) Funny Games(2007) Suspiria(1977) Phantasm(1979)

intothegrinder

Some suggestions for future Horror Polls... The Last House on the Left (1972) Sisters (1972) Piranha (1978) The Brood (1979)

Paul Cox

I'm glad Let the Right One In is hanging in there, but there's no way I'll be mad about Night of the Living Dead winning if that's how this plays out. 1. It's from the 60s, which is rare in and of itself in the reactor space. 2. It's the genesis of an entire subgenre. 3. It's still properly creepy.

Birdie Num Num

major respect for including Murnau's Nosferatu. Nice you didn't just put Eggers remake on there instead (which I'm sure the majority here would rather see)

Ullrich Pfeiffer

We need more The VVitch reactions, simply because people saying "VVitch" is a lot of fun. It is a great horror movie though, too.

Anthony Donato

I would like to suggest A Quiet Place (2018). Emily Blunt, John Krasinski.

Tyler Foster

Honestly, I'm just grateful to see a '20s movie on the poll.

Miles E Coburn

That's what drives the clicks on YouTube. And that's not just this genre.

JoshG

Out of everything on this list I think the strangers would scare them the most

Antmovies

I didn't vote yet but you guys should not be watching THE VVITCH and probably not ERASERHEAD either. I'm even iffy on LONGLEGS. Those all involve babies or female children. I can guarantee that all three films are at least very good but no. Not on my watch. 👮🏽‍♀️

Domino

This is missing The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016)! 🫡

thebeefmaster

Suggestion for future Horror Poll "The Entity" (1982) Based on a true story.

PIG

The Witch is my favorite horror movie of all time but I'm really glad Night of the Living Dead is winning, one of my favorite movies in general. Eraserhead is it's own Lynch animal too so I just had to vote for that also,

Aaron Barlow

The Others makes for a great reaction. Also 'Let the right one in' is awesome.

Boris-N

Shivers (1975) would mess up your brains..

Lou@Jersey

While I chose 'The Stranger', I would really love if you consider 'Identity' as a choice to consider. Horror/Thriller/Suspense/Mystery! 😉👍

ron clint

One horror film that really hits home is I SAW THE DEVIL from South Korea. They really know how to make horror ( Memories of Murder, The Host, The Wailing, Train to Busan, etc)

PIG

Agreed. Japan too!

PIG

The original and American Let the Right One In are both great.

PIG

These are actually very good points. I think it can ruin it for Sam.

PIG

Antmovies just pointed out below that there are movies here that have violence involving young children. For sake of the reactors, I agree that we have to consider that while voting (even if some of those films are great).

Ripclaw105

Re-Animator or From Beyond

Mr. Chumpus

In the late 70's, my brother and I would stay up late on Saturday nights to watch B horror movies on Grimsley's fright night before Elvira took over. Night of the living dead is the GOAT

Jimmie V

Eraserhead and Possession are on an entirely different level than the other films, fitting more into art-house... if you watch those, prepare to put your thinking caps on.

Toc

Yes to Creepshow! One day!

Vincent Hollow

I'm up for any version of Nosferatu, but both the original and Eggers' are tied for my favorite versions. Eggers definitely has great respect for the original (and folklore in general), and I thought his version was different enough to stand out on its own, but still followed the same beats of the 1922 film. I do hope they watch Eggers' at some point, but again, im happy with any version they decide to watch.

Vincent Hollow

I haven't seen Eraserhead, but as far as The VVitch goes, I feel like they could handle it. Most of that violence happens off-screen and even the aftermath of the acts aren't shown. More was shown in Trainspotting that they couldn't watch than The VVitch does.

Paul Cox

Oh dayum The VVitch has come within one point of Night of the Living Dead. This may be a horse race!

Roy Wright

Man I walked out of The Witch. Maybe worth a rewatch.

Shehab Dawoud

Regardless of which movie wins, it’s going to be so tight that the 2nd place should be a lock for October. Anything else would be unfair.

Niko

30 days of night is fire

Ken Veader

Possession is so underappreciated but the real horror fans know

David Wilkins

The Witch is very effective. A reaction would be interesting.

UnlicensedOkie

Let the Right One in was the first big foreign language film that I really enjoyed. I was never a huge fan of subtitled movies but I thought it was really good. It helped that the director shot it like a silent film. I think he even said that he wanted to make it a silent movie but wasn’t allowed to. A lot of show and less tell.

David Wilkins

The Witch is very good, in a very EFFECTIVE way. I’m curious to watch Sam and Dan venture into the dark place it presents so well. I’ve never been much for Horror as a genre, but I do deeply appreciate the ones that transport to a place of dread, rather than gore and jump scares.
