Comments

Ashton Rice

Hesitant to watch this cause I don't want the journey to be over :(

Ellie Williams

Above all I wanted to say thank you for these wonderful reactions. It's just been spectacular to watch these episodes with you. You have made me like the show even more than I already did. Thank you!! First Better Call Saul Reaction: 10/25/2004 Last Better Call Saul Reaction: 7/8/2025 8 Months and 13 days

Mr. Chumpus

Aw damn, I'm already way past my bedtime and your gonna go ahead and upload this epic finale now? Ugh

Martin7777

Glad to be sharing this with you all! Remember, magic gets better with each rewatch

Ellie Williams

I hope you guys consider doing a Q&A, wrapping up your BCS experience. My questions are: 1. Sam, is Howard the worst death you've ever experienced in a TV show or movie? 2. What was the major difference between what you expected and how the show actually was?

TBR Schmitt

OMG why did this make me tear up!? I'll miss your dated posts! What an incredible journey! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

LOL I'm so sorry! It was a late day today! Just pretend you didn't see it ;) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Literally need to start BB all over again and back to BCS! -Sam

Tristan

It's all gone, man. Wow, it seems you just started watching this yesterday lol. Anyway, thanks for making us experience this whole adventure through new eyes, it was insane.

I’ve always interpreted the Chuck scene as Jimmy’s regret. Since Jimmy brings up a time machine and it’s revealed that Jimmy is basically talking about regrets. We learn that Mike’s regret is taking his first bribe. We learn that Walt’s regret is related to Jesse cause he looks at the watch Jesse gave him. But both scenes end up having Jimmy making up something and hiding his regret. Then when the Chuck scene happens Chuck offers Jimmy an out, but Jimmy denies it. So I’ve always seen that scene as Jimmy regretting not taking that out. Cause Jimmy always wanted his brother’s love and support and becoming a lawyer never gave him that. Not being a lawyer may have made Chuck see Jimmy as an actual brother and treated him like a brother. Jimmy wouldn’t have been involved with all of this if he stopped being a lawyer in the first place. Also, that Chuck scene is just before Episode 1

TBR Schmitt

Ooh! Maybe we should do a premiere for the finale so we can chat like we've done for other finales! 1. Absolutely the worst TV/movie death I've experienced! It legitimately ruined like weeks of my life! 2. I did not expect it to be so dark! Everything surrounding BB made sense for it to be so dark, but a show about a sleezy lawyer pre-BB, I did not expect it. And it blew me away!!! -sam

TBR Schmitt

I can't believe it's already over! Thank you so much for the kind words, Tristan! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Thank you for this!!! My favorite type of comments making me take another look at these scenes! Guess it's time to start episode 1 over again ;) -Sam

Martin7777

One of the most impactful moments for me is when Kim picks up that phone and answers it with perfect confidence, shot from below. Up until then Kim seemed broken or dead, but that in that shot we know she's alive!

Paul McCormack

This is why TBR Schmitt is one of my reaction channels; you guys have so much insight and passion for these shows. (I finally caught up with your Bly Manor reactions) It’s just lovely watching along; keep up the great work! 🙂❤️

Tristan

No problem, this reaction was splendid :)

So bittersweet. An amazing, perfect ending to an amazing show. So sad it's over, but it was such an amazing episode. I remember my friends trying to get me to watch this show. Telling me it was amazing. I thought they were just over-hyping it to get me to watch it. A Breaking Bad spinoff? With Saul Goodman? Come on! He was just comic relief. How could they put a show together around him? Some half-ass sitcom, I figured. Wow, was I wrong. I only started watching because 2 or 3 seasons were already on Netflix, and I was bored some weekend with nothing better to watch. I've said it before: Vince Gilligan made a ground-breaking, genre-defining show with Breaking Bad. But it turns out it was just practice so he could make Better Call Saul even better. I've enjoyed re-watching every episode with you immensely! I'm curious what show you're going to watch to follow this one? It's a hard act to follow. Severance? Fringe, maybe? Dexter? Lost? None of them are BCS, but still excellent shows.

So this reaction series was my second time through the show, and I have to say that I did love it even more. Such a beautiful ending. Even though they cannot undo anything they've done, Kim and Jimmy start to take ownership and finally stop running away. As a side note, I love that Jimmy's competitive side comes out, and he feels compelled to show the world that he can stil win. Even if his 'victory' is just bargaining the government down to 7.5 years. Watching episode 12 again, it really stood out to me how careless Jimmy was getting. I think he had just about reached a point where part of him was looking to get caught. Rewatching this with you guys was a blast! Glad you loved the show as much as I did. EDIT: I love that you pointed out my favorite aspect of this show, which is that both shows are deeper and more impactful for Better Call Saul being so good.

Marcus Cato

I loved that part too. It's like she was so traumatized by the consequences of her actions that she can't even offer an opinion on mayonnaise vs Miracle Whip, but by the end of the episode she is finding some purpose again.

Martin7777

She literally never answers a question. Even the most inane questions the best she can say is “maybe”. Like she’s afraid to affect the world

Marcus Cato

I've really sppreciated your comments throughout these reactions. There were a few times when the chronology gets a little confusing, so these comments were a big help.

Michelle Hoffman

This is the GOAT of tv series for me. Was great to re visit again with you guys 😊

Jonathan D

Awesome reaction....thank you!!!

Lee N.

A spectacular end to a very impressive show. And it's pretty much a wrap; there's nothing more to tell as far as I can see. And since this and Breaking Bad were the creation (whole and in part) of Vince Gilligan, I REALLY hope that you guys check out another great show that he was heavily involved with in the 90s that is still my favorite sci-fi drama of all time: The X-Files.

Chris Bruneau

A great reaction by Dan & Sam to the finale of one of best shows ever. As an attorney myself, it will always have a very special place in my heart! I saw so many of my own experiences in these characters (just the courtroom stuff, not crime, LOL) Cant wait to see what is next up for you guys!! :)

Marcus Cato

I forgot to mention: now that the show is over, there are some great promo videos that the cast made between season 5 and 6. Mike Ehrmantraut teaches us how to make a pimento sandwich, Nacho teaches us how to spot counterfeit money. But my favorite was Lalo teaching us how to make a Salamanca taco: https://youtu.be/OZwbCsONsSE?si=95gxtORG0gjjokd2

Dylan Cooper

FRASIER is another spin-off that arguably surpassed its predecessor.

Dylan Cooper

I'd like to see you do a video (even 15-20 min) of your thoughts on the entire series as a whole, how it evolved and tied into Breaking Bad. Plenty to discuss.

Dylan Cooper

The first episode of Season 6 starts with Saul's cardboard cutout being thrown into a dumpster. The finale has Saul himself in a dumpster trying to evade the police.

M4RRS

Remember when Francesca told Jimmy that Bill Oakley switched sides and Jimmy thought she meant that he came out as a homosexual? Well, whether he was joking around or not, he obviously recalled their conversation when he saw "My lawyr will ream ur ass" (verbatim quote including misspellings) chiseled into the cell wall, then broke out in maniacal laughter and thought to call Oakley.

M4RRS

Additionally, Jimmy himself was shown dumpster-diving, and subsequently finding shredded documents including invoices, at a Sandpiper Crossing facility way back in the first season.

M4RRS

Oh, Jimmy definitely got the ice cream — or, rather, he would have, had he not subsequently decided to blow up the entire deal — as that was indeed agreed to as one of the bartered conditions!

M4RRS

I hardly ever see anyone (reactors or otherwise) mention the fact that Jimmy McGill & Bill Oakley were respectively flying and being extradited back to New Mexico via Wayfarer Airlines. Of course that was the same airline company in which Jesse Pinkman's girlfriend Jane's dad, Donald Margolis, worked for as an air traffic controller. Obviously, he was the one held responsible for flight 515 (a 737 commercial airliner) colliding with a charter plane, causing the deaths of 167 people. Additionally, I rarely see folks mention how the cancer-stricken "mark" from the black and white timeline (who Buddy refused to rob, leading to "Gene" breaking into his residence, plus lookout Jeff getting busted) had documents on hand in his home which revealed a value of $737,000+. Thus, that was yet another 737 tie-in reference along with several of them previously emphasized during 'Breaking Bad', including the title of a S2 episode ('Seven Thirty-Seven'), as well as Walter White's initial earnings goal of $737,000.

TBR Schmitt

Wow, thank you so much! I hope you enjoyed Bly! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Okay, yes! This was my initial thoughts when they first announced the show however long ago! I was like hmm seems like a strange character to follow! I love being so wrong haha We are still undecided! I'm really leaning towards Severance but we have a good number of shows on our short list! -Sam

Martin7777

The creators of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, are working on a new show where Rhea is the lead. It's not related to those shows, and they said they're done making shows about bad people.

TBR Schmitt

Aww love it! Makes me excited for a rewatch! Agreed!! Ooh I'll have to rewatch for careless Jimmy for sure, he was definitely losing his Jimmy way. Thank you! I feel like I'll be in a loop of rewatching this universe forever! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

They wrapped it up perfectly! Ooh I've heard such good things about x-files and I feel like that would be right up my alley! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

LOL Love the clarification on this comment! Thank you, Chris! This was such a great run! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Ooh! What is this a spinoff of?! I don't think I've heard of this! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Oh what?! Ugh how are they so clever! -Sam

Ray Johnson

Frasier was a spinoff of Cheers! One of the greatest tv shows from the 80's :)

Martin7777

I just realised, he dropped mint chocolate chip ice-cream on the curb when he got picked up (Scooped up) by Nacho

Philip Alan

That was a great RIDE! I appreciated you getting emotional during the series finale, during the appropriate times! :)

Benjamin Wightman

Came here to echo this. Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould likened the three callbacks to Scrooge being visited by the three ghosts. Jimmy indeed reveals his deepest regret. And only really poses the time machine question with Chuck in mind.

Ken Veader

Are you guys gonna be reacting to Dexter Resurrection? It premiers tomorrow ! Im so excited

Walter Pfister

Great reaction. I hope now after Sopranos, Breaking Bad and this, you will give The Wire a shot.

penoyer79

good show, but it's like 10 years and over 260 episodes. that would take them like 3 years to get through lol

penoyer79

Severance would be a great short series.

Batman

Oh, I'm so glad I subbed to watch your full-length reaction to this finale. I knew it would move you as much as it did me. Aren't they amazing, these writers and actors? I mean, look at the emotional rollercoaster they took us on. Humor, admiration, respect, love?... disdain....hatred..............redemption. Thank you! I'm sure you would be thoroughly intrigued by "Severance"; it's a ride!

TBR Schmitt

Ooh I didn’t realize it was premiering so soon! I’ll add it to our list but we won’t be watching it yet! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

We definitely will get to The Wire! We’re going to take a small break and do something a little shorter first! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Thank you so much! Agree with your comment a million times over! A perfect show! -Sam

Fernando Alamán

Ok, small break, but then The Wire!! Can't wait to rewatch it with you two. I'm sure you're gonna love it.

Walter Pfister

Thanks for the reply. I can understand a shorter sojourn first. The Wire is a commitment but worth it.

Ken Veader

Oh man, I hope you guys get to squeeze it in soon, Dexters one of my favorite TV characters of all time. I couldn't resist and watched the first two episodes and its already awesome but i'm gonna wait for you guys to watch the rest. Loved watching New Blood with you guys and hopefully this really sends off the Dexter journey in the best way.

penoyer79

The Wire is about as long as Saul. they got through Saul in like 7-8 months.

Daniel John

I've said this and I'll stand by it...what they did with this Breaking Bad/El Camino/BCS universe is the most impressive thing I've seen in entertainment television or cinema...to have that high quality of 2 shows and a movie and end them perfectly is crazy...Saul, Jesse and Walt all got different appropriate endings...it gets the nod to because it is completely and utterly original...not taken from any source material. In an age where nobody can seem to make anything original. Salute to them.
