This one here is my favorite Harry Potter movie and Book, the adaptation they did for this one, that you read in the book goes crazy, and here they introduced my favorite character Sirius Black, he is such a good Godfather, and I can’t see no one else playing the character besides Gary Oldman, and I just love the relationship between him and Harry. Fun Fact: Tom Felton a.k.a Draco said that everyone on set was so jealous of Daniel Radcliffe and Gary Oldman relationship in real life because they were Harry and Sirius 🥹

The results are fun but I don't think they are accurate. I vote Ravenclaw for Sam because she loves trying to piece together the mysteries (and usually guesses things right). Daniel frequently just wants to get rid of someone, so he gets a vote for Slytherin.

Only book change I dislike is the bogart moon. It's just a silvery ball in the books. It being a moon isn't learned until they reveal he's a werewolf.

The Marauders map was created by… Remus Lupin (Moony), Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail), Sirius Black (Padfoot), and James Potter (Prongs). Remember those nicknames for future movies. They were close friends who called themselves The Marauders and were troublemakers at Hogwarts. They also didn’t get along with Snape, which is why the map was able to insult him when he tried to make Harry read it. Btw, Snape was the one who revealed to people that Remus was a werewolf, which made him resign Remus of course was a werewolf having been bitten as a kid. But the other 3 became what is known as an Animagus, a wizard who chooses to turn into an animal. Sirius became a dog, James a stag, and Pettigrew a rat. They did it so they could keep Remus company when he transformed. When they were with him, he would become more tame and not wreak havoc. When he was teaching at Hogwarts he would drink the Wolfsbane potion, a very tricky potion that Snape made. When he drunk that, his body would transform but his mind would stay the same. He would then just curl up into his office and wait for the sun to come out. So props to Snape for that! The shrieking shack was actually the place where Dumbledore would bring a young Remus when he would transform, so he would be nowhere near others. That’s why people think it’s haunted, because they would hear noises which was Remus all along. Naughty Dumbledore encouraged the rumors so people would stay away. Sirius escaped from Azkaban by turning himself into a dog. Dementors are blind, they see by sensing people’s dark emotions. That doesn’t work on animals though. Why did it take him 12 years? I guess you could call it a plot hole. The Dementors are probably the most original creatures in the franchise. All other creatures are inspired by ancient folklore and mythology, but the dementors are supposed to represent JK Rowling's real life depression she went through. How did no one recognize the Marauders when they turned into animals? It’s because to become an official Animagus, you have to register with the ministry of magic, so they can keep track of you. But of course they didn’t do that. So only they could recognize each other in animal form. Sirius in prison saw the newspaper article with Ron’s family in there and recognized Pettigrew as a rat. That’s why he went to Hogwarts. You’ve probably already looked it up by now but Trewlaney, the divinations teacher you couldn’t recognize is Emma Thompson, one of the top actresses. As you could see, she’s not a great teacher but she has the ability to once in a while predict things and prophecies that would come true. She gets taken over and has no knowledge of it. Again, remember that for the future. That was a lot! Hope you’re okay with this type of information as long as it doesn’t spoil future movies. Otherwise, just say so. For obvious reasons they had to cut a lot of things from the books and even change some things. But certain things I feel are important to know for context and better understanding! Glad you liked it, great job!

FWI, the movies do Ron so wrong. Hes a true Gryffindor and the movies make him look like an idiot. Remembers this for the future for Ron and Neville. They wands they use in the beginning WERE NOT THEIRS!! We're not chosen by wand for them. After Rons broke he got one and same for Neville in another book. Having been bit by a dog one time myself, that Ron did so well holding it together was amazing. Ron got dragged by a dog and broke his leg. the damage must have been awful. Good for him. Glad someone else went into who the Marauders were and how the map was done. Can you imagine what Lupin was saying when Snape tried to read the map and it made fun of him in front of Harry and Himself!!! i wouldn't have held it together at all.

Sam being displeased with the sorting results and wanting to game the system to be what she wants. How Slytherin of you XD Unfortunately, even though it is said that being a Slytherin doesn't make you evil etc. there are no confirmed Slytherin characters that are just good. Snape for example has tried multiple time to save Harry's life but he has a very antagonistic relationship towards him and most other characters. Even in the books there's no Slytherin students that Harry and co are friends with and I think that was a misstep on JK Rowling's part. This movie is John Wlilliams's last hurrah for the Harry Potter films. He really stepped his game after the rather disappointing score of Chamber of Secrets (most of it was just recycled from the first film with only a couple of new themes). The Knight Bus, the toad choir, the ticking time, Buckbeak's flight etc. are just incredible. The other composers will do great work but he will missed, especially since from this point on, only the main theme will recur and all the others like Voldemort's theme (which I adore) will be discarded in favour of new ones.

Sirius only had the opportunity to escape when he saw the photo of the Weasleys in Egypt and realized Peter was still alive. That gave him a feeling (determination? hope?) that the dementors couldn't feed off, so he finally had the energy/power to transform into the dog.

I really don't think you are a Slytherin, Sam, and not because they are supposedly "evil". Slytherins are ambitious, cunning, and resourceful. I'm sure you have those qualities, just that you seem much more likely to be Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, or even Hufflepuff. Take the test 5 more times and see if it always comes up Slytherin. If it does, you can't argue with science!

Great reaction, so happy you two loved this movie as much as the rest of us. Something you touched on in the last film, the presence of Voldemort as the main villain in the first two films, was obviously something that wasn't present in this film, which was a very nice break. I think most would agree that having him appear as the main villain again in this film would have felt a bit repetitive, so it was a really nice change of direction that most, including yourselves, didn't anticipate. Something else you didn't mention at the end that you may have missed or forgot to mention was when the Divination professor was grabbing Harry and stated that master and servant would be reunited tonight once more, foretelling the fact that Peter Pettigrew would reunite with Voldemort once again. Such great writing though as the film up to the reveal makes it feel like Sirius is the servant that will reunite, not Peter. Such a great film, and all the rest are pretty great in their own right. Can't wait for the next film!

Cool that you picked up on him being a werewolf as soon as you saw the moon as his fear. I also realised it too when I watched it for the first time, mainly because I love werewolf movies. Also the latin word for wolf is Lupus, and the mythological founders of Rome who were raised by a she wolf were called Romulus and Remus. So Remus Lupin as a name screams wolf.

Slytherin can have a bad rep but they are not all evil but I definitely don’t get Slytherin vibes from Sam which for me I see her more as a Ravenclaw and for Daniel I get more Slytherin which again is not inherently bad. I myself am a proud Hufflepuff!!!!

I had a good laugh when Daniel turned out to be a Gryffindor and you turned out to be a Slytherin, Sam. Daniel said he wishes he was more evil. Explains why he married you. :D Also, in the wizarding world, a lot of emphasis is placed on the fact that Gryffindors and Slytherins don't get along and usually hate each other. The very idea of two people from from those houses ending up together would probably make most others from either house try to break you up. Aw, yours is a forbidden love. LOL

The movies continue to do Ron dirty and often give his moments to Hermonine. LIke in the Shrieking shack. Ron, with a broken leg, stands between Harry/Hermonine & Sirius and not Hermonine. Also, Ron gets detention for standing up for Hermonine when Snape calls her an insufferable knowitall instead of piling on.

I absolutely love both the wands from Wizard World website/account as well as the wand I have in the Hogwarts Legacy game cuz all of your info such as House, Wand appearance/makeup, and Patronus gets carried over from Wizarding World to Hogwarts Legacy.
