Love Story was the Avengers Endgame of 1970

Paul Cox

No way to gauge what might win yet, though I suspect Barry Lyndon could be favored because everyone else loves Kubrick more than I do. Hoping Deliverance at least has a respectable result.

Birdie Num Num

Lol, am I responsible for this poll? Surprised you left out Network since it got 100 votes in the Duvall poll. And didn't include. Altman's noms from that decade - MASH or Nashville.

dieselbeast

American graffiti, if you love romanticizing the 1950s that's your choice, there's a special aura about that film, something other.....

TBR Schmitt

LOL Birdie I'm laughing reading the other thread! Great minds think alike ;) Figured it was time for another decades poll! Network has been placed on the schedule already and we're doing another war/comedy film shortly so we decided against MASH! I didn't realize Nashville was Altman but we were excited for an opportunity for more Nicholson! -Sam

Michael SCH

They've reacted to The Deer Hunter and Taxi Driver already (and I think they've both seen The Exorcist).

Paul Cox

Network on the schedule, hooray!

Keith Brown

Towering Inferno was the peak of the disaster pics of the 70’s with a great all star cast plus a John Williams music score to have playing for the film !

Michael SCH

Yeah, looks like either Deliverance or Barry Lyndon will win the poll, with maybe American Graffiti giving them a run for the money. I admire Barry Lyndon more than I love it - I don't really know whether it will make for a good reaction video, frankly. But we'll see!

Birdie Num Num

Its crazy when you look at the highest grossing films of 1970 - the top 4 were also Best Pic nominees! Love Story, Airport, MASH and Patton. While last years top 4 were Zootopia 2, Minecraft Movie, Lilo & Stitch, Avatar Fire and Ash...

Marcus Cato

I have a hard time seeing Barry Lyndon being a great reaction video. I'd love to see a commentary on it from a professional cinematographer though. One of my fsvorite movies of all time.

Tyler Foster

My instinct is to say I think others are more interesting than Deliverance, but I've only seen it once, so I suppose maybe I should see it again.

Athos Count de la Fère

Gotta go with Deliverance. I like going white water rafting and that movie inspired me to learn it.

John Fitzpatrick

Great!! More 70's films. My favorite decade for films.

Jack H Enjoys Reactions

I had no idea how slim the seventies pickin’s were. I suspect you’ve already seen most of the films I would be interested in. I wavered between Deliverance and Towering Inferno, so I’m well. Inferno has a huge ensemble cast you might find interesting, but Deliverance is more intellectual in its way and not the worst option.

Birdie Num Num

they've already reacted to these best pic nominees: Apocalypse Now The Deer Hunter Midnight Express Rocky All the President's Men Taxi Driver One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Dog Day Afternoon Jaws The Godfather Part II Chinatown The Conversation The Sting The Godfather The French Connection A Clockwork Orange Patton

Jack H Enjoys Reactions

I kinda missed the Academy Awards angle. Oscars mean nothing to me so makes sense those are mostly underwhelming to me. Moving on.

Toc

All great films. Deliverance makes for a FANTASTIC reaction video. I've seen several! Looks like it will win, too! PS: Love Barry Lyndon; but Deliverance makes for a way better reaction video! (so does American Graffiti!) Excellent poll!

Florian Meier

What a fantastic poll !!! Marathon Man, The Parallax View, The Gauntlet and Network are also great ones for the next Time.... but all these films are very good

YoureMrLebowski

With 29 days till the polls close, I'm going to call Deliverence the winner now. It's over. Arizona will win the NCAA Championship as well. I'm calling that too.

Hans Engelen

Has to be The Towering Inferno

penoyer79

Deilverence is a no-brainer, but The Towering Inferno and Network (not included) are must watches guys.

Florian Meier

After their All the Presidents Men Reaction is "The Parallax View" a must watch ... What a great Thriller

Mr. Writhms

American Graffiti took place in the 1962, right when Wolfman Jack started his career playing all that awesome music.

Dan Holmes

Amazed Barry Lyndon is in second place. Expected it to have like 3 votes 😂 Glad to see it Deliverance will probably win but honestly Kramer vs Kramer deserves a watch the most so perfect

Renee S

I think it's time for Deliverance, lol. But The Towering Inferno and Kramer vs. Kramer are both really good. Just saw another reactor do Kramer. It's a pretty underrated reaction choice.

David Wilkins

All of these are great, but I LOVE the fact that Deliverance has a solid lead. Such an amazing and different kind of story. It was a groundbreaker at the time, and it hasn’t lost anything. I never was a Burt Reynolds fan back in the day, but he was perfect for this role.

Michael Buhl

The 1970s is the golden age of cinema! Lots of bangers on this poll! I voted for Barry Lyndon, but I will be perfectly happy if Deliverance wins. (I've said it before and I'll say it again: there may be movies as beautiful as Barry Lyndon, but there are no movies more beautiful than Barry Lyndon.) By the way, why isn't Network on this poll?

John DiGiantomasso

Heaven Can Wait is a very underappreciated film. A delightful story, cleverly written and brilliantly acted and directed. Plus the cast of Warren Beatty, Julie Christie, Jack Warden, James Mason, and Buck Henry, withDyan Cannon and Charles Grodin as the villains. So Good!

To Wa

All That Jazz Breaking Away Both from 1979

Santiago Aner

I love all the movies I've seen from this list, but my favorites by far are Barry Lyndon and The Last Picture Show. I'm happy if Deliverance wins, though.

ScrubbleDub

Also from the 70s, the original Poseidon adventure, marathon man, jaws. Deliverance was definitely a good movie. Not the two movies have anything to do with each other other than white water rafting but does anybody remember the movie the White Mile with Alan Alda. Based on a true story I think

To Wa

More Best Picture nominees from the Seventies I can recommend : Cabaret Airport Love Story

Browniewin

So many excellent choices. American Graffiti is lots of fun, so is Heaven Can Wait, Deliverance and Five Easy Pieces are iconic and in Kramer vs Kramer you would get to see some of the best actors we have and Meryl Streep early on in their career.

Birdie Num Num

I wonder how many people voting have never seen The Last Picture Show.

Future Boy

Deliverance is one of those films I've been waiting YEARS to see on the channel!

Marcus Cato

All That Jazz is one of my favorite films of all time. Was lucky enougg to see it in a local theater last year.

To Wa

Lots of good selections! Hoping Annie Hall ties for a strong second place!

Florian Meier

Kramer vs Kramer is my pick here but deliverance is also a wonderful winner

Claudia

pulling for kramer vs kramer, even though I also really love american graffiti and last picture show too.

David Wilkins

I love the movie, but I’m surprised it’s running so strong in a popular poll. Films with such deliberate pace and subdued storyline usually do not. If it weren’t for the Deliverance juggernaut, it could win. Hopefully they will cover it at some point.

Birdie Num Num

Barry Lyndon has been in 2 War Polls and 1 Adventure Poll. It always gets decent numbers. It is the only Kubrick that hasn't been reacted to of his films from Strangelove on.

penoyer79

Deliverance is going to be quite the viewing experience.
