Another great Joe Johnston movie: The Rocketeer. For more Sam Neill: Hunt for the Wilderpeople

Philip Alan

Daniel, you cannot spoil Sam with your thoughts and comments!! Let her discover ON HER OWN, who those guys were on the plane! It would be more of a surprise/better reaction for her and US!! haha!! :)

I myself like the 2nd one more than this one. I love that Sam Neil was back as Alan, but there were some aspects of this one I wasn't that fond of. My biggest beef with this one though was the Spinosaurus. to me that was the outlandish thing. I understand what they tried to do but for me it just didn't work. To me the T-Rex in San Diego wasn't that big a stretch. The other thing I thought was way out there - more so than a T-Rex in San Diego, was how they wrote the raptors. Personally I felt that Jurassic Park 3 is where the more outlandish stuff started. It just continued to get more outlandish going forward. So for me 2 isn't that outlandish. 3 has grown on me a little bit, but I still can't help but scoff at the T-Rex/Spino scene. Though looking at it as similar in nature as the Indominus sort of helps with that. But I still scoff only because of that first bite the T-Rex takes. I feel given the abilities of the T-Rex that fight would have been done right then. But what can ya do? Still this was a fun reaction. Especially the jump scares. Always make me laugh.

Not terrible for the first Jurassic Park not directed by Spielberg...except for the scene where the raptor talks to Alan in his dream. That scene is just...it's so stupid. It pulls me out of the movie every time. So fucking stupid. Just dumb. Stupid.

Hunt for the Wilderpeiple for more Sam Neill 😊

For a film that threw out its screenplay five weeks before production started (the original story was more 'Lord of the Flies' meets Dinosaurs), JP3 didn't turn out too badly. Point of interest - Alexander Payne contributed to the rushed JP3 script - he wrote Sideways (your next reaction!) and The Holdovers. I felt the film seems to be missing some scenes and the ending is too rushed to be satisfying (IMHO), but I enjoyed many of the action set-pieces. I can also get behind its thematic concerns about communications within families (the Kirbys; the raptors and their eggs, the father-son relationship between Alan and Billy), and letting go of the young for them to experience life. What it really lacks is Spielberg's directorial flair (the Lost World's T-Rex attack on the trailer, being a classic 'Hitchcock' suspense scene). I like Joe Johnston but he's no Spielberg. I loved the original JP, and I liked all of the subsequent sequels, although I'm ambivalent how the Jurassic World trilogy took the story. Looking forward to your other reactions to the Jurassic franchise!

I love this one, don't really like the 2nd one all that much save for a few cool scenes. Third one is so entertaining. Unfortunately I don't care for the Jurassic World films. but still hope you enjoy them.

And don't forget to mention it was STUPID! 😆

Sam has suggested that persistence pays off. Please tell me that at least one of you hasn't seen Limitless 2011 Bradley Cooper 7.4 IMDB.

The Mom had me screaming at the TV every 5 minutes OMG.

I like this one better than Lost World. I think Lost World benefited from Jurassic Park. I remember when it was released in theaters. Long lines to get in... lol. I was one of them.
