It is indeed a full blown love triangle series. We have a boy and a girl competing for Harugon's affection, even if they are not aware, so I would say it counts.

I can't really tell where exactly they go with this Kaiju "Baby". will it just be evil and she has to defeat him? Or is he just being misunderstood?

This episode felt like I was trapped inside a Rube Goldberg Machine designed to lead things into a disaster, where every piece started in a different position and all converge with evil synergy into this... unholy mess. Now, the rant man in me is telling me the main cause of all this issue is: They are all reactive individuals, formed by their pasts, falling back to their default "reactions" when something exceeds their capacity. Kuroe's reaction has always been to default to "no one really likes me", and as such, she will assume that SHE is the cause of all misfortune. The kaiju feedback does not help. Minami-kun, due to his past as the chubby guy that got handsome and became popular always has his insecurity showing up at the last moment when it comes to him, and because of that, if someone pushes him, he meekly leaves. He never learned to bridge the gap created by his appearance and his inner feelings. Hence why he is such a pushover with those around him, assuming he will cause trouble to everyone if he doesn't please them (he is a textbook "ex-bullied kid", with lack of inner confidence). This also explains his relationship with Harugon, who he perceives as another kindred spirit. Because of this, both just assume and don't really speak, only reacting to situations. Add into the mix the fact he saw the wrong second of a 2-second drama with the Big Kid, and Kuroe saw the equivalent situation with the actress, and the result is obvious... BUT. Because lil' kaiju bro/sis just showed up, Kuroe will do the obvious thing, especially if Minami tries to solve the issue and fail and his trusty kaiju girlfriend has to bail him out of a fight that is quite literally out of his league. That, I think, will give them the chance to speak, even if she is in Harugon-form, and hear what Minami has to say, 'cause I'm sure he will go full honesty with Harugon, again not realizing it's Kuroe he's speaking with. Either way, what a wild ride, this series. Gimme more!
