Alexia

My little vacation continues on for a while as the wedding reception continues. All the way until the wedding reception finally comes to an end. At which point I spend some time at Astrid’s mansion with our family. Just relaxing.

Then I finally head back to the battlefield.

To the universe outside of the Dimensional Grid.

Where I begin hunting corrupted creatures again. With the occasional Corruptor included amongst them.

I gradually clear out corrupted creatures through numerous solar systems and even galaxies entirely. Wiping them out by the billions, or even trillions.

Unfortunately, most of them are all low level. So they don’t give a lot of EXP.

But EXP is EXP, and they do still give it. And the sheer number of them I’m killing makes up for the shortfall.

Well, that and the Corruptors.

They give a lot more EXP.

I spend several months hunting corrupted creatures for a while before taking a break and resting at my house, then hunting again, then taking a break again. Over and over again.

By the time an entire year has passed, I begin to get into a routine.

I spend three months clearing corruption, then spend two weeks resting. Then I spend another three months clearing corruption, and another two weeks resting.

Years begin to pass like this.

One year, two years.

And when three years pass, a pleasant surprise greets me when I get home for another two week break. One in the form of news from Astrid.

She’s pregnant. With twins no less.

One boy and one girl. And while she apparently isn’t showing yet, they could easily figure out their genders and that it was twins through magic.

I immediately rush to her place to check on her, only to find her happily having rooms set up for the twins in her mansion. Not to mention having Ethan go through training courses for being a father.

Courses I can’t help but go watch once just because the idea of Ethan, a proud dragon, attending one of these courses is just amusing to think about. But he’s genuinely serious about this.

I smile after watching him go through the course. Because he really does seem kinder now than when I first met him.

A lot kinder, at that.

I purse my lips as I think of the world these twins will be born into.

Currently the Dimensional Grid is largely stable amongst the residents in the Grid itself. But the outside of the Grid is a completely different story. Even after I’ve been clearing out the corruption for years.

The corruption just continues forming just as quickly as I clear it out.

To make matters worse, corruption is now beginning to attack the Dimensional Grid in a much more violent way. With a lot more corruption rushing the Grid.

It’s not a very good universe for children to be born into, that’s for sure.

I narrow my eyes at that thought before taking a deep breath and letting it out again. Then I leave the outside universe and enter the Quantum Realm. Heading straight to the trial tower upon arrival.

It would be best to grow as strong as I can now to deal with the corruption threat faster.

I doubt I’ll be able to defeat the Corrupted One before the twins are born. Highly doubt it, in fact. But at least I should be able to keep the corrupted from spreading into the Dimensional Grid if I complete my True Form.

Also, I just reached level three thousand not too long ago. Which feels like a much more reasonable level to try the next trials of the tower than my previous trial attempts.

I hurry inside of the tower before heading towards one particular mausoleum. One I decided on during my corruption hunt after some explanations from Zal about the different remaining Quantum Beings and their powers.

The mausoleum belonging to the Quantum Builder.

From what Zal told me, the Quantum Builder fights by not fighting.

He is a pacifist and dislikes combat, so he creates holes in the galaxies to get rid of all the attacks directed at him. Whether it’s through sending the attacks into the empty space outside of the universe and Quantum Realm, or even sending the attacker far away.

And if the attacker doesn’t give up on trying to kill him, then he will try to cripple the attacker with his own attacks.

As for if that doesn’t work? He’ll try to throw the attacker into natural disasters to kill them.

Zal has never seen what happens if that doesn’t work, though. So I’m not quite sure how the Builder will actually fight.

Maybe I’ll see how the Quantum Builder fights during the second part of the trial.

Hopefully I will, at least.

I narrow my eyes at that thought before proceeding to enter the mausoleum. Leaving me appearing in a completely empty space with nothing but the Quantum Builder in it.

The Quantum Builder himself is wearing a set of high futuristic style purple armor with no helmet, and the usual glowing and glitchy purple eyes. But he still has his differences from the other Quantum Beings. Like purple lines running down from his eyes, along with hair that’s about a few inches in length and very deeply layered that seems darker in color yet more vibrant than the other Quantum Beings.

He doesn’t have any weapons and is just floating there.

Until he raises one hand and makes a wave of quantum energy rush out from it. The energy then moves to form a galaxy around us.

Stars, planets, asteroids, and more.

Even black holes and more.

But none of it is evenly distributed, with some of it trying to clash in the space around us. And it would clash and ruin itself from being unbalanced if it weren’t for the Quantum Builder holding it all in place.

Then the Builder moves to another empty space, where he repeats the process.

He never stays long in one place, nor does he distribute and balance everything.

For that is the job of the Quantum Architect. Not the Quantum Builder.

I watch for a while before eventually arriving at the second trial.

Time to see just how he fights.
