All Around the Universe
“Let’s end this,” Alexia Knight’s voice echoes throughout the entire universe across every single screen in front of every single person. Including the Quantum Beings, who hijacked the System to see screens of their own. And not a single person finds themselves able to look away from the screen. Not as Alexia, the Quantum Reaper, empowers her scythe with the energy of everyone watching, along with her own remaining energy.
And especially not when she and the Corrupted One rush at each other one last time.
Everyone watching was terrified beyond words when it looked like she was about to lose, but the moment the Quantum Beings’ and Luna’s plan worked, and she was saved, nothing but silence can be heard in the universe.
Even the wild animals and monsters stay completely silent as if instinctively understanding the significance of this battle.
A battle where the life and death of the entire universe is at stake.
All of the beings with any power in the universe have already fought till exhaustion and even given their remaining energy to Alexia for this one attack. It even includes Luna’s own energy. So if it fails, the universe will fall.
With that in mind, everyone watches. Everyone waits.
And everyone hopes.
And amongst those watching most closely, Alexia’s family along with the Quantum Beings who have fought hard all this time, none of them dare to even move as they see Alexia’s and the Corrupted One’s scythes clashing in-between the two. Creating an enormous shockwave that once again distorts the reality around them as Luna retreats far away to avoid being hurt in the crossfires.
But it doesn’t just stop with one shockwave as numerous powerful waves of energy burst out of their attack, making reality around them begin to crack bit by bit. Both from corrupted energy and the regular quantum energy of the Quantum Reaper.
Eventually the strange void completely shatters, leaving the two once again detectable by the Quantum Beings.
And yet, none of the Quantum Beings dare to go there while their energy is nearly emptied out.
They just continue to watch the battle on the screen.
Seconds pass as the waves of energy continue to burst out before cracks suddenly begin to form on both scythes, making both the Corrupted One and Alexia wince in pain. Then the cracks begin to spread on both.
Everyone watching can’t help but hold their breaths at the sight, just hoping against hope that the Quantum Reaper will win and save them all.
Then, as if answering that prayer, the cracks on the Corrupted One’s scythe begin to spread faster than the cracks on the Quantum Reaper’s scythe. All while Alexia herself lets out a shout from the pain flooding her body yet puts in more and more force almost as if to vent out that pain.
Alexia’s family also sees hints of regret and anger on her face that they can tell she’s venting out with this, making tears fill their eyes one by one.
And, finally, the Corrupted One’s scythe shatters to pieces, allowing Alexia’s scythe to slice straight through him. Splitting him in two, including his core.
Then the remaining energy in her strike continues on, flying through the empty void outside of the universe that they’re in for as far as the eye can see. Splitting reality itself as it goes until it finally moves too far away and no one can see it anymore.
The only sound that can be heard throughout the universe is that of Alexia as she pants in exhaustion, barely holding onto her scythe as she leans her hands against her knees. Meanwhile the Corrupted One’s two halves continue to float in the void silently, drawing the eyes of every being watching.
Until an immense power suddenly begins to pulse from the two halves of the core.
All of the Quantum Beings watching look on in horror as they understand exactly what is about to happen.
“Hurry and prepare-” Veltorius begins to roar out in warning about the unstable halves of the core that are about to explode, only to pause in shock at the sight of what he sees on the screen.
“Oh just give up already,” Alexia mutters. “You’ve already lost.”
And with those words, a large maw made of devourer’s energy appears surrounding the Corrupted One’s body and core halves. One that chomps down to devour it all in one bite.
Leaving the universe in another silence that lasts just a few seconds before roaring cheers fill every last inch of it.
Veltorius feels a chill run down his spine as he carefully watches the Quantum Reaper for a few seconds, only for him to let out a sigh of relief when he senses the corrupted energy she just devoured being purified inside of her.
Then something strange happens that only he and likely Alexia notice.
A tiny soul slips out of the devourer’s mouth. One that is pure and without any corruption in it whatsoever. That soul soon leaves, disappearing off into the distance without a word or physical form.
Veltorius’ heart begins to beat faster than he can ever remember at the sight, and he begins to feel his hopes rising again.
But none of the people across the universe, nor Alexia herself, care about this one small detail. Not when everyone is too busy cheering for the survival of their universe. And not when Alexia brings a seat out of her storage ring and lies down on it looking utterly exhausted right before the System itself finally cuts off the broadcast for her privacy.
Finally putting this universe-threatening event behind them all.
And yet, despite the screen being gone, Veltorius immediately set off without a care for his lack of energy. He rushes in the direction of where Alexia is before beginning to track the small soul that slipped away.
All with a tiny amount of hope glimmering in his eyes.
