Aidan
“Worry not, Great One, for the System blocks off all entry into the area around the System Cities participating in the war,” Rex answers my question. “No one is capable of harming a System City that is participating in a war unless they, too, are participating.”
That’s good to hear.
After hearing that from Rex, I go ahead and ask Seraphyne for any advice she might have about the small scale war. Which is pretty big for a ‘small scale war’, now that I think about it.
This war has over seven million participants, and yet it’s considered a small scale war.
I can’t imagine how many participants a large scale war would have…
Anyway, Seraphyne answers after a few minutes.
◊ Seraphyne ◊ - [Inter-City Wars are normally not recommended as they decrease a planet’s power within the Multiversal Wars. However, there are times, especially upon initialization, where they are necessary. In this case, it is best to keep the war as short as possible with the least casualties on either side unless the opponent is absolutely unwilling to work together after the war. I would recommend wiping out the zelbar entirely from past experience as they will never work together with voidlings, but the orcs should be reasonable if you kill their king. The benefits of winning the war will be the System Cities of all the losing factions, and the War Points of the leaders of those losing factions. What it wants are Multiversal Wars, so the System will not give any additional rewards so as to not motivate users into fighting Inter-City Wars.]
That’s interesting.
The System has always seemed to be all about conflict. But I guess it’s all about inter-planetary combat? Not inter-city combat?
Still. Going out of my way to not kill too many orcs…
That could be a challenge in the middle of a war.
As for the zelbar? I knew from the start they would never get along with me and the voidlings. Seraphyne has already told me stories about her own past with the zelbar, and I’ve seen the zelbar’s actions here on Gaia already.
They hate the voidlings with a passion. All because the voidlings are also insectoids with their own swarms and hives.
Regardless, I just want to get this war over with so that the forces on Gaia are at least relatively united against Furtruna. Since it’s not very easy to fight a war when the top forces of one side are fighting amongst themselves.
Or, it wouldn’t be very easy if it weren’t for my Assaults tearing through Furtruna.
That kind of balances it out a lot. So much that we’re pretty much winning in terms of quality.
Technically Furtruna is winning a little bit in terms of the number of Assaults they’re sending. Simply because the orcs and zelbar are focused on me and not the Multiversal War. But my Assaults are tearing away at the elites of the strongest forces on Furtruna. Reducing their numbers by a lot and leaving just the weaker forces on Furtruna to face the Assaults of the other users of Gaia.
On top of that, Furtruna would eventually run out of elites to face my Assaults, leaving my Assaults to go wild on their planet.
With all of that in mind, I spend the next couple days preparing. Gathering more voidlings to increase the number of forces on my side, creating a couple new types of voidlings, and having the broodmothers continue creating voidlings.
I also started distributing more of my blood to the voidlings fighting in the war. Simply to make them stronger and to give them Throne of Retribution.
At the same time, I have a lot of my voidlings traveling through dungeons and even the Labyrinth on my behalf. Which I figured out was possible at some point. Just sending them into dungeons and the Labyrinth to give me a sort of auto-farm for source mana. They even bring back items for me.
The only downside is that it isn’t all that convenient for them to bring back monster corpses to drain source mana from. But even that’s fine since they’re working as a sort of auto-farm for me.
It’s not a very fast method to level up, but it’s a method that lets me work on making more voidlings while also leveling up in my Class. So it’s a good method regardless.
And that much is clear from my leveling progress alone.

Of course, a lot of this came from items the voidlings brought me to devour. So it’s not all the auto-farming. But plenty of it is.
Also, it’s nice that I get an additional two free points per level ever since reaching Silver Tier. It makes it easier to balance out my stats the way I want them to be.
Thanks to all of this, I feel perfectly ready for the upcoming war.
Before that, though, I still have the Leaderboards Rewards. So I sit on the edge of my System City’s wall for the last few minutes until the rewards time arrives right at midnight.

◊ The rewards will now be distributed. ◊
Not much difference from the last week’s leaderboard results. And there aren’t all that many people who advanced much further in the Labyrinth. Probably because of both the increased difficulty of the Silver Tier section, and because the rewards for the Labyrinth Leaderboards aren’t anywhere near as attractive as the other leaderboards.
Anyway, time to open these loot boxes before entering the special battlefield.
