Literally u named 1 character that died and it was a very minor character in less than 10 ep, they def hesitate to kill in this show lol. Also they didnt show the detail for Aizawas leg, just a silhouette, this time they SHOWED IT in all its brutality. Honestly it could be because its been so long since I watched new mha this just feels totally new to me, but really feels like the brutality is being dialed up!

Ayy! You read my question thanks! I will say, I'm definitely a little biased because I know what happens in the future. But it's interesting that we agree on how Endeavor's more suited as a hero rather than man who wants to atone, but we also have different mindsets on how exactly this reflects with his character

Midnight and night eye, but yeah no one I’d say major. But that’s what makes this so much different than jjk. You don’t “need” to kill of your favorite characters to reach a perfect story, obviously maybe another death makes it better, but this story about kids didn’t need that.

I think she is gaining more control over her quirk. Like it started with just invisibility and then light refraction of aoyamas quirk and now through training she is more aware of how her quirk works and can maybe control it better

I love the big "SMASH" on the screen as Tokoyami's attack lands. It's a good way of subtly showing how the other kids are inspired by All Might as well, not just the big ones like Deku and Bakugo. Also, when it comes to AFO's Quirks rebelling, I definitely think it's a little of column a, a little of column b. He likely does have less control with his duplicate AFO, but they probably also only just started rebelling now because they saw someone weak like Jiro standing up to the demon lord in spite of her weakness.

While i forget if this is the case with afo, it is also worth considering how eri's rewind quirk is a stockpiling quirk. She had to store some kind of energy over time and then it gets released to rewind things. That could be why he was waiting to use it

I think he's known it throughout the series. In the montage, he speaks to his feeling of inferiority upon seeing a "true hero" (in reference to All Might). I think he's known pretty much since All Might's rise, which was very early on (I'm not sure he had even become a pro yet at that point). Granted, while I think he knew it, I don't think he necessarily acknowledged or accepted it until later on, even to himself. Certainly not outwardly until around the time he started to work on atonement for his wrongs.

Right, thanks for clarifying. Do you know if he was enrolled in a hero academy before or after All Might returned to Japan? Either way, I think endeavor saw the massive gulf between him and All Might when it came to being a hero, and his inability to figure out how to close that gap (and become a "true hero") infuriated him to no end. That anger ultimately fueled his efforts at quirk engineering and the cascade of misdeeds that was his life before and at the start of the series. That anger was born from his awareness of his shortcomings (that he had them, not necessarily knowing what they were at the time) and his refusal to accept them.

I was absolutely hyped at that moment. It's also a huge sign of respect for the character of Tokoyami. If Koji Koda landed a Smash it wouldn't be cool. He just doesn't have that kind of power. Tokoyami does. He's worked up to maximize his strength into an attack like this. It felt very earned.

Ever since they started the endeavor atonement story line I’ve rooted for him and he has been my favorite character. Me and my sister had an abusive dad my mom left him and when I was 14 he showed up again saying he was “sorry” of course we thought it was BS so we kept our distance but through the years he showed that he was different so we did forgive him a long time ago. this thanksgiving I flew to Arizona to spend time with my sister my Dad also flew there from his home and we loved being together I hope that at the end endeavors family forgive him the words “I’ll win and keep looking at Toya” those words where deep!

I think the “Endeavor IS more suited to be a hero character rather than a character with an atonement arc” point is kind of the essence of this episode. For better, or for worse. I’m pretty adamant that Endeavor’s atonement arc written pretty badly, but luckily his fights and voice acting is some of the best in the series, and that’s a series with incredible voice acting all around.

It's not wearing off the author just wanted to show what she looked like for the final arc and he used refraction as a medium to do that since she's giving off light you can clearly see her silhouette.

Endeavor is such a weird character. Like, on one hand he's interesting as heck. But on the other hand he has one of the most confusing arcs I've ever seen. I can respect what was attempted, but I whenever people talk about how this character as if he's well-written, I kind of wonder what they mean, since for all intents and purposes, this is one of the sloppiest ways I've ever seen an arc about "atonement" get executed. Cool fight and amazing voice acting aside, Enji's writing is a different beast entirely.

It’s where he proves himself to be even more of a badass than we initially thought, and also where he proves that he can’t confront his problems properly to save his life. On one hand, I’m annoyed, but on the other, it’s kinda impressive how much this has made me think. 😅

Episode 19 is the BIG ONE for the Todoroki family plotline, and I'm worried that it's just gonna devolve into another large scale argument. I don't want that; I'm not sure how you've seen it, but I don't like fighting with you or anyone like we've been. You seem like a nice enough person. That being said, you're also a TERRIBLE one to consume media alongside sometimes. It was one thing when you were ragging on Endeavor (directly or indirectly), but since season seven's started, you've kinda done nothing but criticize, criticize, criticize. I'm sure you can imagine how irritating that can feel for other people, so I'm here asking if you could maybe, I dunno, tone it down?

It’s cool to meet people that are actually willing to do things like that. 😅 I will say though, I feel like I’ve done more than criticize since I only kinda do that when the conversation is about Endeavor or the hero’s plan. I’ve had plenty to say on other fronts. It’s more that my points of criticism get more attention since they’re my most unpopular opinions. I get that it can be frustrating since you seem to really like Endeavor and the hero’s plan, but I will also say that we can still disagree without it becoming an argument. Kaemnfdog and me have done that on several occasions (notably that one time you seem to think that we were arguing). So I’ll definitely have some choice words to say about Endeavor, and you’re absolutely welcome to disagree on it. If it’s any consolation, I’ll try to make my criticisms come off as less “sassy” this time around since I do have a lot of good things to say too.

That's fair. I can get pretty repetitive. Truth be told though, there IS a reason for that. 😅 That being, that a lot of my criticisms have to do with things that are still in the process of happening. And if I was to get super into my own psyche or whatever, I think part of this stems from the fact that a lot of people kinda have the habit of just refusing to actually listen to my reasoning, rather than actually engaging with what I have to say. This was the case even before season 7 started. So as a result, it can feel like we keep treading the same ground without really getting anywhere productive if that makes sense.

Any repetition during a viewing experience, especially criticism, is gonna be hit with scorn, and I don't think that's unreasonable. You may not intend to be annoying, but you kinda have been this season, my dude. 😬 You do what you think is right, but I'll reiterate: I don't wanna fight anymore, and a lot of the stuff you would say makes it seem like you're ASKING to get ragged on, which causes arguments and kinda brings down the mood of the whole live reaction. You and Epic started acting with this level of competitiveness towards me and my opinions pretty much immediately after I started expressing them way back in season 5, so I'm not really sure if you are either. And while I have no intention of being annoying, I also don't really have any intention of stopping, since all I'm doing is expressing my opinions when they're relevant. And so far, you and Epic seem to be the only people that are actively getting upset with me because of it. While I find that completely fine, I also do think you're going to have to be a little more understanding going forward if you don't want to argue, since for all intents and purposes, all I've been doing is simply giving my two cents in a chat/comment section where we're encouraged to give your own opinions, and you're the one who's been responding. As a matter of fact, I found it especially kind of Kenny to allow me to articulate my opinions despite not really agreeing with them.

It's all cool. To clarify I added the "super" just because I don't wanna make it seem like I'm underestimating what you're accusing me of. And like, truth be told I get the issue you have. I really do. If things were flipped around and you were constantly criticizing something that I liked, I'd get annoyed too. That being said, I really do think I've been pretty lenient as of late. Like, I haven't been super snarky with my comments as of late, unless I'm making (what I think at least is) an obvious joke, and I genuinely do think I've only been critical when what I have to say is relevant to the scene or conversation in the chat. So I do genuinely think I HAVE been "cutting people slack." But okay, I'll level with you more. What would YOU personally like me to do? I'll explain whether or not I think it's fair, and then we can hopefully have a bit more understanding of what to do moving forward.

Oh don't worry, I was already keeping that in mind, especially for 19. When it comes to stuff that genuinely makes me emotional, like season 5 ep 18 for example (an episode that I see a lot of myself in), I'm definitely gonna come off as less "frustrated." That being said, Endeavor isn't off the hook completely. Still though, there's a lot for me to get genuinely emotional about.

@H-Bomb 24. Randomly going through older episodes and I found this lol. I just want to say that you're kind of a nightmare to consume media with too. I actually decided against joining the live chats because you in particular get very toxic whenever someone says something that you disagree with. I frankly think it's unfair that you're putting all of this on someone who is simply just expressing their opinions, instead of taking responsibility for the fact that you're often the one who starts things by being unnecessarily argumentative towards people who have anything critical to say, mainly about Endeavor. Does “panzer” mean something? Because bakugos gear uses that word and in AOT, the name of the unit that runs the gear in the cart titan is called the “panzer unit”
