Not too important LN spoiler below: The doctor who failed to actually do the autopsy this episode actually makes a reappearance in one of the later light novels! Not important at all really, but it was just a fun thing to read and have a “oh you’re back?” Moment hehehe

Honestly Natsu must’ve felt for him too when deciding to bring him back because the LN he reappeared in released literally a few days after the Season 1 finale aired so she would’ve been writing that LN while the anime was being worked on

How far ahead are the LN to the anime, translated or otherwise?

So far all of the LNs that are currently released are translated into English, the English translation for LN16 came out a few weeks ago :D (and was very good) If we assume each season will cover 2 novels (as it’s been doing) then we currently have 8 seasons worth of content (and more considering Natsu is actively working on LN17) and about 5ish years have elapsed from the start of the story to where LN16 has left off

Jinshi must really love Maomao, cause her laughing maniacally with that Light Yagami grin didn't seem to phase him at ALL. 😳 The look Maomao gave him at the mention of Lakan was unsettling, but she was just SCARY in this episode.

vindication for kenny!! though, i think as the season goes on, it's harder to believe that jinshi is a eunuch simply because we see more and more of his physique. he's fucking RIPPED y'all ain't no way a eunuch has that much muscle mass post-denutification given the timeline of castration no longer being practiced at the palace, and his supposed age at the time (even with the persona age). also kind of hilarious that he has to take a tonic to effectively give him temporary ED because he would DEF be popping stiffies every time Maomao laughed or emoted like a psychopath 😭 hereby petitioning for s2 episodes to drop twice weekly (pls i beg) but otherwise, thank you guys for another amazing episode!!💖

It’s the lack of balls that would be the problem. They make testosterone which is a vital part of building that much muscle.

I think it would be a waste of their time. Imo, there are shows you react to, and shows you watch. With it's length and pacing, not to mention the fact Kenny made it clear they wouldn't watch Shippuden, then it's not worth it.
