So around 2 months ago I made a video where I said this was the only social media y'all could keep up with me on- at the time that was true, and I totally thought that I was done with Twitter and Instagram and so on. Flash forward a month and I realized that being off of social media is... worse for my mental health? I know, sounds ridiculous but please understand I am not lying when I say that I am more mentally well when on social media than off, and that this is a demonstrable phenomenon that has happened multiple times in the last three years.

Anywho, if you are subscribed to this Patreon because it was the only place to keep up with me- I am now on Twitter and Instagram. Please stop giving me money if that was the only reason, otherwise I will feel very bad!! Much love to all of you, and how are we feeling about the new video?

Wonderful, as always. I may have immediately hoisted it onto my social group as a form of hazing. :)

new vid was great. i think it’s a product of consumerism, fans treating artists like content machines rather than artists. i think doja and frank are different situations tho; doja, like you said, seems to be trying to shake off the superficial part of her fan base. most the stuff ppl are hating on her for were already part of her personality lol. frank seems out of it, he is probably going thru a lot but after the coachella stuff his actions feel, to me, more genuinely disconnected and disrespectful. also feel like this has always been a thing, bob dylan was notorious for not meeting fans and never signing autographs, no one’s canceling him. unfortunately i do think this is a way in which genz is entitled lol

I mean even the worst social media got huge originally because it did something people wanted. Regardless of how much mind-bogglingly awful things have come from it since. Everything in moderation, as they say. Wish you all the best, love to all.

Love the new vid! Please do consider leaving Twitter for somewhere on the Fediverse / Mastodon though. I know the signup is a bit confusing and convincing an audience to move is tough, but the mental health impacts of Mastodon are *SO* much better, it's hard to even describe. It just shows you posts, from people (and hashtags, and groups) that you follow, in order.
