Sorry for the confusion here, there's been a lot going on but we've updated our Eurogamer Switch 2 hands-on article and added a note to the YouTube video - available footage of Street Fighter 6 isn't rendering at native 1080p, it's operating at 540p, upscaling to 1080p - with Nvidia DLSS the only really viable upscaler that can produce results like this.

Results like what? Well, as we waited for Oblivion today, Tom put together this comparison based on Nintendo Treehouse video stacked up against captures of the Xbox Series S version of the game. Texture quality apart, there's certainly some eye-opening comparisons here. We'll likely use this material in DF Direct Weekly #211 but for you for now, enjoy.

Bonus Material: Early Street Fighter 6 Switch 2 vs Xbox Series S Comparison

540p with DLSS vs native 1080p with two systems that have a considerable performance delta. This is comparing our own Series S capture with footage from the Nintendo Treehouse.

That's fascinating. I wonder, even with DLSS and a lower internal resolution helping out, how much of what we're seeing is just improvements in technique (Like Alien back on the original Switch and the PS4) over time paired with minor artistic tweaks, and how much is the Switch 2 hardware just being better than I expected.

If they are using DLSS, I think it looks great! Especially if it is upscaling from 540p!

Fascinating stuff! Chun’s eye make up is practically missing in the Series S version and the bindi on Dhalsim’s head is noticeably more crisp on Switch 2 (actually, on PS5 it looks similarly low res aka the Series S version). I’m also curious if the Switch 2 will run with the Input Delay Reduction option enabled by default in handheld mode.

To be fair, the Series S version of this game was one of the biggest drop in quality I've witnessed compared to a Series X version. Even the PS4 Pro was looking better on comparable aspects. I wouldn't say the Switch 2 version is a miracle (though it seems very good): I would rather think some weird optimizations and choices seem to have been made on the Series S version.

Honestly the fact it’s a launch title makes me optimistic at what can be done going forward.

Everything is sharper and more detailed! The only compromise I witnessed was a lack of depth of field blurring during some scenes on Switch 2 during camera close ups that remove player control momentarily.
