And Phase 6 begins - here we go! 🥳

I'm looking forward to your comments and thoughts on this movie! It feels weird being caught up on Marvel movies. As much as I would like to continue reacting to the movies to come, I'm really tempted to go see them in theatres because I've never seen a Marvel movie on the big screen yet! We'll see when the time comes.

I liove this movie! I saw this in the theater with my son. Vanessa Kirby made the movie feel real. Her portrayal of a mother (and wife) was authentic and made this crazy super-hero tale feel grounded.

One of the reasons that Galactus looked so impressive is that it was built on a practical base. Ralph Ineson had a full costume which they could then build some CGI over. As for his voice, it needed barely any audio processing, he has such a distinctive voice. As for Shalla-Bal, Julia Garner researched Surfing to help with the physicality of the motion capture for some of the scenes. Seeing a Silver Surfer actually surfing was great. You're not the only one who got the Interstellar vibes from the space scenes, but I don't blame them for wanting those visuals in this film (and they were stunning).

I made notes... yep, I have nothing to do today, so that's what I did :D 1. You speculated that moving the planet wouldn’t help because the Silver Surfer can travel insanely fast. But that only matters if she knows where it went. If Earth were relocated to a random star in the Milky Way, she’d have to search blindly among ~100 billion stars (10¹¹). Even at 10,000×C — meaning each 10-light-year hop takes about 0.001 years (~8.8 hours) — the expected search time is: 10¹¹ stars × 0.001 years per star = 10⁸ years — around 100 million years. Of course, Surfer could accidentally hit it in a day, but the probability of that happening is so improbably small that it's no real risk to Earth. 2. Galactus on fire walking through the city reminded me of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man scene from Ghostbusters. I wonder if that was on purpose? 3. If Galactus was as big as that, he would sink into the earth. 4. And this might be controversial, but... I think from an ethical position, the Fantastic 4 should have given the baby to Galactus. Sue Storm says, "I will not sacrifice my child for this world. But I will not sacrifice this world for my child." It sounds profound, but doesn't really mean anything. She might as well have said, "I didn't sacrifice my child for this world, and fingers crossed all of your children don't all die because of my decision..." Which is slightly less profound. But, to be fair this is a typical complaint of the Marvel Movie ethic—Captain America is the epitome of this paradox, he wouldn't sacrifice individuals but had no problem dropping cities out of the sky for the greater good. Which, of course, is why Batman is better than all of the Marvel heroes put together—he's unhinged ;) 5. You said you wanted to go to the theater to see some of the Marvel films. I entirely endorse this plan. Maybe do like a 10-20 minute video review of the film after you see it? It would be cool.

Vanessa Kirby’s primal scream at the end gets me every time. mom power.

I love this movie, I was fortunate enough to see a early screening of it in IMAX. You should definitely treat yourself to a MCU movie in theaters...especially in IMAX.

LOL I love the notes, thank you! And you're right about Silver Surfer. I always forget how large the universe actually is.

I believe Cassie has done a couple of reactions IN THE THEATER to new movies when they came out, not just her home theater. Might be something to consider 🤔

Yes, I've looked into doing this before and unfortunately it's just too expensive to justify it. Even independently owned theatres near me charge a minimum of between 25-35 adult admission tickets for a private screening, regardless of how many people attend. The theatre chains charge a minimum of 50 adult tickets. But it would be even more expensive than that for me, because they have a maximum time slot of 2.5 hours. You have to pay more if you need more time and I would need that to set up all of my equipment and hopefully be able to do some quick test recordings. But if the test recordings aren't working out (relating to audio, mostly) and I am not sure how to fix it, then I've spent a shit load of money for an unusable reaction. This is actually the part that stresses me out the most about theatre reactions, even if I could afford it. Cassie did those during COVID, when theatres had drastically reduced the cost of private screenings as an incentive to get people to bring their families in to watch movies and stay in business. Also, Cassie's family and friends joined her for those in-theatre reactions, which gave her another reason to do the private screenings. My family and my friends are all a bit too scattered around the bottom half of Alberta to be able to do the same.

Was a fun enjoyable new take on the Fantastic Four. I loved how rhey show cased everyones powers and how strong they can be except Mr Fantastic. Loved seeing and learning about Galactus, and loved seeing Silver Surfer true soeed and some power. I agree with you on how the dynamic between the characters was lacking some, especially since they been together as a team for 4 years ect. And the introduction of Franklin, i wont say or mention what he can or cant do, but hes a important character for sure.

Seems like if you were going to see some in theaters, you could save the upcoming Spider-Man movie for the channel, and then after that it would be the next two Avengers movies, which would make sense as something to watch theatrically. Although, then that'd be two movies you don't do on the channel, and arguably bigger ones, so maybe you'd flip that.

Out of the three, I'm more likely to see the Avengers ones in theatres.
