Weekly Update (7-15-2024) (Patreon)

Not a bad break so far. I think I will be taking slightly longer than usual to finish something I've been playing. I burned through most of Shadow of the Erdtree, but just didn't find its story satisfying on a personal level, so a proper RPG was called for, haha. I'm very happy with Trails through Daybreak so far, though.
Even with that going on, though, I've been thinking about the next update, and things in general. One thing I'm contemplating is giving Overwhelming enemies some kind of anti-armor skill just to make them a little scarier for the armored tanks too. If I do this, it will probably be retroactively added to Ch 10's combat, but not further back than that--more of a thing we see as we face more elite enemies. I could also consider giving this to a different class of enemies, but I think they make the most sense since we already associate them with high tank damage.
I'm also considering making a few other balance tweaks in general. Mainly, I think it may be necessary to do some nerfs to disabling effects. These being a bit OP can fly under my radar since I tend to play aggressively and so don't use them that heavily. Nothing too drastic, mainly thinking of a CD on Somnus's sleep and lowering the rate of Freeze for attacking Lorena without Frozen Rampart. These aren't final or anything, just some ideas I'll be considering. I'll probably give Somnus's DP gen a single target boost, though--right now, I'm thinking he might be able to generate more DP based on the number of curses active on a target when Night's Caress activates. Also considering a few other changes in general, like potentially switching Cynthia's builder combo to a two-step on a cooldown now that I added other builders.
Anyway, that's all stuff I'm still considering, for now, nothing is decided yet. Just considering some in-depth combat feedback I received recently. This is a relatively good time for me to think about it since my game focus isn't currently on working on part of it. Game-related stuff is always on my mind, but I promise I'm actually taking a break. XD
