Weekly Update (3-17-2025) (Patreon)
Content
Overall a pretty productive week this week, That said, I'm not really close to the end yet, so I'll definitely be needing the extra week or two on writing. As ever, I thought this would be a shorter update than it's turning out to be. XD
[Patreon seems very intent on making that huge, not sure what's up with that. >.>;]
I do think it's a good problem to have overall. Like I've said, there's a lot I'm looking forward to this update. It's just a lot, especially while I'm still not working at 100% efficiency. XD
On another note, expanding expressions via splicing has become a minor obsession of mine. XD Lorelai got two new sets this update:
[I guess patreon is just making all images oversized now...]
Lorena and Ligaea (newest version) also got one new one each.
Several more minor characters also got expanded expressions. I suppose I'm just greedy, but it's increasingly hard to write even relatively minor characters in a satisfactory fashion with only one sheet, haha. It helps that this kind of splicing is one of the art-adjacent skills that I'm actually good at (vs having zero ability for actual art).
In other news, once I have time to iron out the anti-lag beta (it currently has known freezes at three spots and one other issue), I've decided I'll probably be making it a setting rather than always on. This is mainly because there are some minor irritants it produces that I haven't been able to solve. Nothing that should be a dealbreaker for anyone who actually needs the anti-lag (mainly an annoying tendency not to run parallel process events as quickly as it should), but enough that I'd rather not have it on by default if I can help it. And I think I know how to make it work as desired here, so it should be a minor backend fix on my part to make it toggleable. But I'm waist deep in the update, so improving the beta will need to wait until release most likely. I'll probably aim to do anti-lag stuff for v0.15 public.
Anyway, for now, back to work.
