I made pretty good progress this week. About 10k words, but the real progress was a truly massive cinematic cutscene, even by my standards. It's not 100% done, but I've done the lion's share of it, mainly need to backfill a branching option inside of it.

I am, however, thinking about wrapping up this update a bit earlier than I had planned and pushing the last section of it to next time. I'm at about 60k words now, and I'd probably need another +25-30k to finish everything I had planned this update. While I could do that, (a) I don't want to push out the update timeline another two weeks as it would likely require, (b) I'm running out of steam, and think it would be better to tie this one up here and get a fresh start after I relax a bit, (c) I think this might be a better breakpoint anyway, narratively, and (d) I don't think it lacks significantly on any major components as-is.

So, I'll likely finish up some stuff from where I am now this week, then get to combat design and testing. I would say the most likely release date is April 11th, 2 weeks from this coming friday, since I need to wrap up the writing, then combat design and testing usually takes about two weeks in total. I also wanna be sure I have enough time to test, since it was a little rushed last time and some things ended up in a less than ideal state for that (mainly, I've had to rebalance Dreamwalk more significantly than I would've preferred to, but also various more minor stuff that should have gotten caught but didn't).

All of that said, even if the update doesn't have everything I was originally looking forward to including, there's still a fair amount in this one that I've been looking forward to, and I think it will be a good one.

Let's leave off today with a teaser--'tis springtime in Delphin Pass. (This is an early shot--I did in fact remove the un-rolled rocks, among other changes =P)
