Hello my dear friends!

I hope you're doing well!

Here's another adition to the bird feeders collection! The mid century modern bird feeder v3!

An easy-to-print project that your feathered friends will simply love!

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS PROJECT:

-All the parts are already placed in the right orientation for printing.

-A complete Bambulab project file is included.

-Only one part needs some supports; the baseplate. You will need some supports for the counterbores under the plate. "Supports on buildplate only" will do the job! NOTE: For the Bambulab Project file, the supports are already set by object for the baseplate. No need to set them, just slice the plate and the support will be there.

-You will need (8x) M3 x 12mm screws.

-Use at least 5 walls to have strong and sturdy parts.

-The whole project is printable on a mini printer (E.g. A1 Mini or Prusa Mini)

WHAT'S NEW WITH THIS PROJECT:

-A brand new hook design!

The hook included in the folder is what i call my "locking hook".

As this bird feeder is suspended by a rope, it is sometimes difficult to keep everything well balanced. Over time, with a normal hook, it would end up leaning left or right due to the string moving in the eyelet.

With this hook, simply find the center of your rope, slide it into the hook slot and pull down! There you have it, your rope will be stuck and will no longer move on the hook!

The hook can be scaled up if you need a bigger one. It will not affect its blocking function.

In any case, if you are having some problems with the project or the files, feel free to send me a private message. I will try to help you as much as i can!

Have fun my friends and keep printing!!!

Pascal

Brilliant hook design, definitely printing this precious feeder out, Pascal. Love the design, it’s very spiffy! Thank you 🙏 Have a great weekend ahead, everyone.

My daughter loves these Mid Century Bird feeders. This one will make a great addition to the other two. Great job Pascal! Thank you.

Another great addition to Mid Century series of feeders!! Thanks for sharing with us!!!

I gave this as a gift over the weekend and the person who received it made a comment that there were no drain holes in the feed section, and stated that it had to have them to keep the food dry and safe. I noticed none of the other models have drain holes either. Is this something I should be adding to them? Thanks!

PA1 MAKER

Hi Kim! You can add some holes, but i made a few tests and the holes ended up clogged with seeds each time. I will try to look at some solutions for this. ;) If i can find something that works great, i will make an update on the other bird feeders. :)

I don't see this one in the downloads folder, I see v1 and v2 but no version 3. I this one just misstitled?

Question about using PLA .. has anyone had issues with the prints once placed out doors?

Elle Labs

I have the same question, I love the polymaker filaments, but I'm worried it won't do well in high heats outside...

hi, i have produced a couple of these using PETG which works well, but also have produced the rainbow one in just PLA and sprayed it with a semi matt clear coat that you can buy in a spray can, works absolutely fine so far, even during a blistering hot spell here in the UK, although i would say placed in direct sunlight will shorten the life of any 3d printed object.

I am still having an issue trying to change from PLA to PETG in the files. I have tried everything. I tried to search the Facebook Page, but could not find anything. This problem I am sure is mine as a beginner. Any help would be appreciated.. I know the creator is a busy person with all these cool designs but I wish there was tutorials. Thanks for the great designs....
