[UPDATE] - Augur: Nexus 1.5.3: Cleaner maps, Better dossiers, safer Scenes (Patreon)
Content
Hey everyone, Augur: Nexus 1.5.3 is now available! This is a focused polish update built largely from the screenshots, bug reports, and small frustrations you have shared with me. There is no single enormous headline feature here, just a lot of friction removed from the tools you already use.
What Has Improved:
- Cleaner map labels: Faction-colored boxes now fit settlement and Location names much more closely, with less empty space around short names and proper sizing when long names wrap onto two lines.
- Correct compact windows: Compact Location dossiers reopen at the correct compact width instead of combining a compact layout with the expanded window size.
- Smarter generator defaults: Person, Faction, Location, and Ship generators remember the last generator used during the current Foundry session. Genre choices also carry across compatible creation and placement tools.
- Consistent custom portraits: Tall and rectangular NPC portraits now stay inside their frames throughout settlement, ship, faction, crew, and NPC dossier views.
- Better dossier scrolling: Long crew manifests, faction collections, and other populated sections now scroll inside their own panels instead of stretching the entire dossier.
- Clearer Scene linking: The Existing Scene picker can optionally show excluded Scenes with a short explanation of why they cannot be linked. This covers Location maps, Site maps, nested branches, the Nexus root, Sci-Fi Scenes, and invalid hierarchies.
- Safer Scene duplication: Nexus-managed Scenes now offer a detached copy that keeps ordinary Foundry map content while removing Nexus relationships and metadata. Augur: Sci-Fi Scenes cannot be duplicated through Foundry's regular Scene controls because they belong to connected system hierarchies.
Thank you to everyone who keeps sending feedback and screenshots. Several of those reports turned directly into fixes in this release, and I am always working to make the Augur modules smoother, clearer, and easier to use at the table.
Please keep letting me know when something feels awkward, looks wrong, or simply takes more clicks than it should.
