[UPDATE] Augur: Fantasy - New Races, Local Factions, and Shadowdark support (Patreon)
Content
Hey everyone, your fantasy games can now include dwarven clans, elven courts, gnomish artificers, night elf enclaves, and orc warbands, each with their own settlements, people, and place in the region’s history. This update adds new races for NPC creation, local factions for Regional Development, and clearer ways to see who controls what on the map.And we now have support for Shadowdark items in the shops interface as well as the player wheel. On that front you can now disable the player wheel outright if you dont want to use it in your games.
More People for Your Worlds
You can now create dwarves, elves, gnomes, night elves, orcs, and half-orcs, alongside humans. You can create these characters directly through the Nexus Placer or add them to a settlement. There is no need to generate an entire region first, and you can still replace their portraits with your own artwork.
Local Factions in Regional Development
Regional Development now lets you add settlements for dwarves, elves, gnomes, night elves, and orcs. Each settlement begins with its own local faction, ruler, and residents. These communities do not expand across the map like the larger regional powers.
The setup window has also been reorganized into three columns: shape the region, choose its regional powers, and add local factions. You can set up to five settlements per race, with existing settlements counting toward that total.
Want those communities to keep their independence? Turn on Prevent local faction absorption. They can still make contact and trade with their neighbors.
Neighbors, Trade, and Independence
Minor factions interact with neighboring realms. A settlement between two larger domains can develop relationships with both.
Those interactions appear in the Chronicle and in the factions’ diplomacy panels. You can see who made contact, who agreed to trade, and whether a community remained independent or joined a larger power.
Joining preserves the local faction’s identity. It keeps its settlement and ruler, while its relationship with the larger faction appears in the dossier.
Chronicle entries include the relevant portraits and emblems, making it easier to follow the people and factions involved.
Clearer Maps and New Artwork
Faction emblems now appear beside owned-location labels, making their ownership easier to recognize.
When a local faction joins a larger power, the label adopts the parent faction’s color. The parent emblem appears on the left, with the local faction’s crest on the right.
Clans, Courts, Artificers’ Leagues, Conclaves, and Warbands default to standalone icons when created through the Nexus Placer too. They use the icon picker, while other faction types retain their heraldic banners.
Shadowdark Support
Shops have new item-based icons that fit a wider range of settlements, and their dossier images are more compact. Integrated shops now also support Shadowdark, alongside D&D 5e and Pathfinder 2e.
