Shadowdark Support: Shops and Player Wheel (Patreon)
Content
Shadowdark characters can now buy and sell equipment through the Augur shop system. Pick up torches, rope, and rations before heading into a dungeon, or sell unwanted gear when you return. Completing the trade updates the character’s inventory and coins directly.
The shops use native Shadowdark items, and you can create different kinds of stores through Augur: Fantasy, from adventurers’ outfitters to weaponsmiths. The video above shows a purchase and sale, including the changes on the character sheet.
Shadowdark attacks and spells on the player wheel
You can also add weapon attacks and spells to the player wheel, keeping frequently used actions close at hand while exploring the map.
These shortcuts launch Shadowdark’s normal actions, just as they would from the Foundry hotbar. Your character’s spells remain governed by the system’s usual rules; the wheel gives you another convenient place to access them.
In the video, I demonstrate adding a dagger attack and Magic Missile, then take a broader look at using the suite for a Shadowdark campaign: shops, generated dungeons, hexmaps, populated fantasy regions, and quests.
If you’ve been following the individual module updates, the main additions to look for here are the Shadowdark shop integration and the attack and spell shortcuts.
Thanks for supporting the modules. If you’re running Shadowdark, I’d love to hear how these fit into your game and what else you would like to see integrated.
