Ego-tistical (Patreon)

pretty much all of the gen 7 events are done now, big and small. swept the big ones out a couple nights ago, the small ones out last night-- all that's left is to do the dealie i discussed previously about adding more variance into the early-ly available pokemon. 

i've got a listed compiled from the generous y'all of pokemon that don't really get a chance to shine, so we tryna give 'em that chance. ya heard it

'side from that last night i did the above charset pose for DPTG's playable character, who you can name in game but to whom I affectionately refer to as Ego. 

I'm not doing multiple pc's (because there are gonna be a lot of complex graphics involving this person) so i wanted someone who looked fairly neutral in terms of gender, race, etc. aside from being applicable to as many players as possible, it helps solidify a sense of insecurity for the in-game character-- never masculine enough, never feminine enough, skin "too dark", maybe a little rounder than the average RPG character (not that that's saying much)... these are feelings many actual people have about themselves, so i wanted to make sure  they could be reflected onto the protagonist.

to that end i pretty much already had their look worked out, though i wasn't sure on what colors i wanted for the outfit so i just sent my friend a message:
me: hey what color shirt do you have on right now
them: kind of a greenish-sort of grey. why?
me: needed a shirt that someone who doesn't always bother to get dressed each day would wear. thanks!!! ^~^
them: that's kind of a mean assumption to make </3
them: but frankly "doesn't always" is kind of an understatement...

i'll start on Ego's other facings and walk cycles today.
