overworld eggies. these are pretty quick to do but i had a handful more i needed for adding in some of those forgotten pokemon we talked abaout before. can you guess what each of these are? -- no cheating by looking at your game files!!!

i am not known for my good memory, but i vividly recall a certain dream i had as a child. it was back during the GSC era, so I must've been like... 8. the dream was like 100% playing crystal on the gameboy color (almost all of my dreams now are in video game format-- i guess that started young).

I remember I was in the route between Ecruteak and Olivine, and I saw something on the corner of the map. I thought it was another trainer sprite, but as I moved over to it I discovered it was actually an egg!! just chilling on the ground in some grass there waiting for someone to pick it up and boy howdy I was hype. 

you also better believe how heartbroken i was when i eventually figured out it was just a dream.

anyway, it's a simplistic dream, but i was incredibly excited just over the potential of what it could be. I remember the feeling, and I've always since wished there were more incidental/random things like that in pokemon games. 

i guess i didn't connect the dots until i was making these overworld eggs last night that the way i've been putting them (and events on the whole) in is kind of wish-fulfillment for my 8 year old self.

but then i guess that's what this game is about anyway.
