FaLLEN Ch. 1 Reboot, Page 10 (Patreon)

This page I almost completely redrew from scratch. Every panel is brand new except for Munchkin's face in the third panel, which I traced from a panel in the original version. Took me a little longer and I made some... interesting... choices that I may regret but whatever! Gotta move forward.

I tried to put some manga influences into this but I'm not sure if it will work as well for color. My husband thinks the floating Munchkin face in the fourth panel is absurd. It would look better in black and white for sure but... ehhhh..... I'll probably keep it. I also tried some stuff out with the balloon in the fifth panel. In Manga there is often a smaller font at the bottom used for a character muttering something under their breath, something in between a thought and a spoken statement, and I haven't seen that in American comics yet. So I gave it a go. 

Lastly, I had a crisis situation where the lines on the bottom right panel accidentally got deleted or merged with another (still not sure what happened) and at the very end of the process I had to redraw the whole panel. I was so mad I was shaking >_<

My rough sketches for the page. You can see that one panel where I recycled some art.

I changed the dialogue and placement a bit, but here's how it started out. 

Line art and a couple of panels I placed temporarily.

Got the panels in there, added word balloons so I could make sure the placement would work before I did too much.

Silhouettes... very important step for me with the way I do things now.

Flat colors!

Shadows and some background stuff.

Almost there! After this I added sound effects, blush, and did the background for the bottom left panel. I tweaked some dialogue and added some effects I think... oh yeah, and redrew those lines in the bottom right panel. Gonna be bitter about that for a while.
