This one took longer than the others! It's my first big action scene and I'm still getting used to working in color. I did learn a really cool trick that I should have known how to do YEARS ago, but better late than never!

Here I spliced together the panels from the original version I was going to use. Only one panel is new, the small one near the bottom.

I inked most of the page and added some rough sound effects, visual effects, and dialogue. I have it on the blue backing so I can see the placement of the balloons a little easier.

Did the silhouettes and some background basics. I did skip silhouettes in panels where the character was so small (Vox) it wasn't worth the extra layers, or in panels where a character took up the whole panel (Arma).

I forgot to screen grab some of the process! I figured out what I wanted to do for the lizard a little, since his colors were never really established before, and did some shadows for the characters.

Tweaked the lizard a little more. His design is a cross between a lionfish and a frilled lizard.

Mostly background work.

Finishing touches. Things like blush to Arma, adjusted font, adjusted sound and visual special effects, etc etc. Here I turned the KRASH effect into a shape and tweaked the individual letters' positions. A super fun trick that every graphics design major knows. Now I know how to do it! (if you don't know how, you can convert the text layer into a shape and adjust each letter that way, but the word is no longer a text layer so you can't change the spelling or whatever).

This was not a fun page and it took me longer than any other page, I'm pretty sure, but I'm excited to work on the next page... which features Lamia ;D
