Writing this from Arizona! I'm officially back on Pacific time. I cross into California tomorrow and I'm totally calm about it!

So, twelve images. Twelve! I know, I know. But I had so much fun designing the outfits that I really couldn't help myself. Wes really is very fun to dress up... I must've been channeling Delia. Besides, Marguerite ordered six pieces, so I wanted to show six pieces!

This is basically a visual peek at Wes's future... a lookbook photoshoot for the runway. If Work It was the story of Wes saying yes to the dress, this is what happens after the yes... After the nerves settle and the lights come on and it stops being a favor and starts being something else.

I want to come back to Wes and Delia! But if I take another step into their story, it's going to be a big one, and I can't take that on right now in the middle of a cross-country move. So for now, consider this a window into what's ahead.

Thank you again to patron Jim for suggesting this! And thank you all for following me - literally - across the country this month. Almost there. 💕

Let me know which "look" is your fav!

Welcome back to the time zone, and an early welcome back to California. You're arriving at just the right time, weather wise. It was 97 today, but dropping down to the 80s and maybe even the high 70s over the next couple of weeks.... the sunshine you've been talking about.

Gorgeous designs, Emory. Wes looks a proper dream!

Annette

Happy travels are almost over I see 🙂 Wishing you a lot of happiness and inspiration at your new place, Emory. The last image is my personal favorite 😍

Gemma

Love these images and feel a real vicarious thrill of excitement for Wes and for his, her new life. All the images are amazing. You certainly know how to dress a girl. The photo shoot images that most appealed to me are the last 4 casual images of Wes in which he/ she looks so cute and natural. Smiling on the roof, showing off her pretty feminine shoulders. Oh so pretty eating salt and vinegar chips between photographs. Cheekily and seeming so comfortable and at ease her tongue out whilst wearing a cute gold dress (seeming to have a slight cleavage). The last image, looking straight back at the photographer l, announcing I’m here and I am so happy. You have done it again Emory. I am so curious how Wes’s relationship develops with Delia, the possible changes in the role dynamics of their relationship as Wes becomes and further embraces being a girl and his/ her femininity. On an another note. Pleased to hear that your trip is going well. I’m sure the memories of this special father daughter trip will remain with you forever. Whilst I imagine you are so looking forward to arriving at you destination in California, I wonder if you will also have some sentimental feelings arising within as you come to the end of your epic journey and special time with your dad.

Take your time. We are happy to wait for your stories. They are all great.

Hey, matching time zones! :P Gorgeous art as always. I think of the looks on display, I think the fourth is my favorite, and a lot of that is how its "photographed." The translucent material, the shoulder pads, the bob haircut, the nighttime cityscape, and the one major source of late gives it a real 80s vibe I dig a lot. I could see it as part of a Duran Duran album cover. <3

The gold dress is my fave, I love it

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Zoe! It’s hard to beat a wrap dress. 💕

Pet Jeffery

At first I thought the red dress, but I'm coming round the gold one. Maybe it has something to do with sticking her tongue out (the best face by miles). Either way, satin is lovely. And Arizona confirms that you are on Route 66 "Flagstaff, Arizona, don't forget Winona". I hope that you haven't forgotten Winona.

Sarah Wolf

Love it and #6 is my favorite

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, M! Wes seems to have found his(?) niche. The biologist / model?

Emory Ahlberg

I really love this comment, thank you, Gemma! 💖 I started out just making the “official” photos for the fashion but quickly found I wanted to inject more of Wes’s personality into the series.

M Fielding

Oh yes indeed. (and I want those gowns too...)

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Alex. You’re really sweet. I can’t wait to get more stories out to you!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you Jenny! 💕 Honestly, #4 is my favorite too. It just has so much attitude and I was really very happy with how the render turned out. Duran Duran would be lucky to have Wes as their cover model! Hehe

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Tim! I’m definitely glad to have missed the worst of the heatwave. As for the sunshine, I ended up bringing it with me all the way across the country - it was gorgeous weather each day of the drive! ☀️

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Annette. Yep, I’m actually in California now and staying with a friend while I apartment hunt. 😊 And I love the last one too - Wes looks so cute!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Pet. I’m glad you like Wes’s cheeky expression. I love the sunglasses in that one too. And yep! I traveled alongside Route 66 for quite a ways. It was a lovely drive, but long. I’m glad it’s over.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Sarah! And #6 was really fun - after all the industrial-ness of the other renders, I wanted a green space. I really like how it all came together.

Emory Ahlberg

Good choice, Alex. Gold looks good on almost every one.

Pet Jeffery

Yeah, the sunglasses are good. I really don't envy you the long drive. I can quite enjoy a half hour's train ride, but, in general, I hate travelling. I'm not surprised that you're glad it's over. It can't have been comfortable.
