Man, this case is awful for so many reasons. So much trauma for so manny people because of one man.

Early release, sweet! Perfect to end my work week. I usually save the Saturday episodes for during the week.

AR

Gripping, harrowing, awful. Thanks for another fascinating and illuminating case, gang.

I loved the way this was written, so different. I can’t even imagine how many young girls were molested by him, how disgusting. Rest In Peace Moira.

Saraneth

What a sick bastard. And so many people covered for him. They are just as guilty as he is. I hope their guilt eats them alive.

Amber

Wow. Excellent episode CF team.

Given I'm from Scotland, it's nice to hear a Scottish case. A terrible and harrowing story.

I am so angry. They let a predator go loose in their village! And what's with a 18 sentence months for the rape of a child? And a refusal to prosecute? Grrrrrr.

Bethany

Don’t forget he was a nice guy and dropped old ladies off at their doors *eyeroll*

I recently heard this case on Deathbed Confessions, where they covered Sandra trying to get her father to confess (obviously by the name) so I didn't know any of the specifics of the case. It was surreal to hear about it in the two different points of view and what a sad ending for everyone all around. It is a case that should have easily been solved.

It just seems inconceivable that there were in excess of 120 formal complaints against Alexander Gartshore for sexual assaults but apart from a ridiculously short sentence for rape of a 13 yo he got away with it all. I hate to think of how many lives were damaged and ruined by him and others in that village. A very interesting but disturbing episode.

Where is today's Crime Interrupted episode?

Casefile

Op Middleham is out, it is the last one for this series.

Bob Trenwith

Thanks - I found it the next day. I believe it was a day later than usual.

Casefile

We released it as usual but sometimes it can take a few hours for the podcast feeds to update.
