Second System 3.2: TLS 1.3, Discord on Vista (Patreon)

In the latest release of Second System, TLS 1.3 support has been added, as well as several TLS 1.2 ciphers that were previously not available on Windows Vista or 7. This allows the use of the Discord app on Windows Vista, in addition to enabling Internet access in other applications that require these ciphers.The updated module, schannel.dll, is also compatible with ReactOS. It may be used in ReactOS eventually.

In addition, several other improvements have been made, including improved compatibility of the D3D11 wrapper with games such as Stormworks on Windows Vista, a fix to some Adobe Photoshop windows being cut off with high DPI scaling, and stability issues with more recent releases of TeamViewer on Windows Vista and 7.After this release, more time will be devoted to the rebuilding of DXGK (DirectX Graphics Kernel) to provide proper support to newer DirectX features introduced in Windows 8 and later.

Which windows version would be the best for using second system. In other words, which is the most stable os

Windows 8.1 technically, as it also has some advantages in terms of DirectX capability (DirectComposition, D3D11 Video Decoder and desktop duplication). Windows Vista is missing some critical things that are in Windows 7 and up (mostly affecting some applications that use WIC and a few Vulkan/D3D12 applications at this point). And Windows 7 is in between those two.

It's not an easy nut to crack. But with increased testing on Windows 10 (it is possible that the nature of Second System itself is affecting EAC) I may get somewhere on it soon.

Yes, it should be fixed now.

Still I'm not able to manually update the definitions for it. Do I need to select "Disable Second System" for that file or do I need to select something from the list?

It still doesn't update the definitions. I updated the Second System. It doesn't work.

I have since been informed that the definitions themselves are not compatible. I should be able to review it now that Vista ACPI testing has hit a dead end (for now).

Will Proton VPN run with Second System 3.2 in Windows 7 Ultimate ?

Unfortunately, the latest version is relying heavily on the Windows App Runtime which is UWP-adjacent. I haven't been able to finish my work on it yet.
