The Last Starfighter will always be special to me, but it really can't hold a candle to The Big Lebowski.

You'll probably like The Big Lebowski. I do not. I feel like I'm the only one, lol. The one-liner quotability is high, the story is meh.

I'm voting for The Big Lebowski, in the hopes of figuring out why this has, what feels like to me, a big cult following. Maybe I missed something the first time I watched it.

One mistake I think a lot of people make when venturing into The Big Lebowski is expecting it to make sense like a traditional narrative movie. It's not that. It has a beginning and end, yes, but it's really a bundle of vignettes loosely tied together by an unimportant objective and more just an excuse to play with weird characters and absurd dialogue. I love it for those reasons, though in the Coens filmography I'd slot it in the middle third.

I liked it when I was younger. Now I'm just like, meh. My best friend saw it, found out that I hadn't and his pitch was "it's got bowling in it, dude" (I bowled a lot at the time). It does have some good quotes in it, though.
