The Green Mile

Muriel's Wedding

*I'm researching something current as well* The Menu came up on our last live, but looking into others!

Excited for this slate. Hope you'll someday consider the other Cameron Crowe / Tom Cruise collaboration, Vanilla Sky. It's a beautiful film with a lot of thematic depth and very thoughtful filmmaking I think you'd enjoy diving into.

Echo

Woo! I'm jazzed for Dogma! I think you'll really love Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and I am really surprised you haven't seen that one. Highlander is good, but I still liked the TV series better. I'll have to mentally prepare for Green Mile, I can't watch too many intense reactions all at once, lol. The Burbs will be hilarious because I think the last time I saw it I was still young enough to have a crush on Corey Feldman.

Chris

Physic & Dogma!!!

A definite yes on The Menu. It happens more or less in real time, which I know is one of the filmmaker devices you love (also, it's so so good)!

Paul Cox

I don't rate Valley Girl as highly as most of my generation does (though its soundtrack is unfuckwithable), and the perfect time to see Highlander for maximum impact is when you're a 15 year old boy (so good luck with that), and American Psycho is thoroughly grotesque in every sense, but this is a dope list of reactions I'm looking forward to otherwise.

I think I keep Valley Girl for that lighthearted fluff (I hope) lol and since everyone knows i love 80s cheese. Im nervous about Highlander, doesn't seem like my vibe! 😬

Paul Cox

I guess Valley Girl is lighthearted-ish, but the stakes in the relationships are so low it's hard to care if anyone ends up with anyone else. Highlander is a whole mess, but the music's by Queen so it gets an extra ½ star.

Adam Doyle

All good (except for the Burbs... hard pass, Highlander doesn't hold up very well either), as for New Movie, Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent was fun Nic Cage, crazy but self-aware too.

Jonathan Malamy

The Menu was one of my favorite recent films. So many things A24 puts out really shine. DOGMA is a fave too.

Paul Cox I'm with you on all points here. I really had high hopes for The Highlander the first time I saw it. I felt let down. It pales badly in comparison to the series. Turns out I'm not a big Christopher Lambert fan. He seems like a nice guy by what I've read, I just don't care for his acting. I watched 20 minutes or so of American Psycho and couldn't find anything likable about any of the characters, so I bailed. Don't remember much about Valley Girl except the music, so I'll watch it for a refresher.

Bill W

Wow SHAN! Eclectic list here. I haven't seen anyone do reactions to most of these films. Really digging deep on a few... "Muriel's Wedding" !!! I saw that in the theater. Good for you! Good for US!!

Dee Aitch

Yay! Highlander and The Green Mile!!!! I guess since it's right below there's a really good shot of that one happening! One of my favorite comments on a reaction was saying that Highlander won the Oscar for best film ever made.

Paul Cox

I encourage any reaction choice that gets more Toni Collette on the channel.

Bill W

I just saw her recently in a British spy film called Unlocked (2017) with Noomi Rapace, Orlando Bloom, John Malkovich and Michael Douglas.

Mike Fox

Happy Birthday Shanelle... Been a minute for me but I'm swinging back this way. I think you cracked the code with this new format... Wishing you all the best.

Chris

You will love Fear & Loathing.

lance tophoj

Fear and loathing is great. However, John Wick series use of color in filming is completely stunning. You would like the film elements.

Travis Nickerson

Just came across something I think you would absolutely love. I guess it was posted on YouTube but a year ago but it has multiple different Stars reenacting the full movie of The Princess Bride. Some of it is pretty funny. It is about an hour long but shot like home movies. Hope you enjoy it.https://youtu.be/29s1yU3nGkQ

Still hoping you'll watch Smokey And The Bandit at some point. Can't say for certain it'll be your thing (comedies often hold up worse over time than dramas—still, I think this truly IS funny unlike an Animal House or Caddyshack), but Burt Reynolds, Sally Field and Jerry Reed (+Fred) are all so wonderful in it that it transcends the whole late 70s-ness of it all.
