Gangs of New York was an exceptional movie and Daniel day lewis was just mind blowing in this as (what a name) Bill the butcher and it's no wonder he has been nominated for and won so many awards he's a great actor. The only thing I was disappointed with with GONY was that Liam Neeson was killed off early and he's one of my favorite actors of all time. "I'm not even gonna read which city we're in gangs...." bit of a do'h moment 😆 from u there shanelle.

You've conquered the Scottish accent (rather exquisitely👌in my opinion cause I'm Scottish), you've conquered the English accent and you will one day conquer the Irish accent because as they say practice makes perfect shanelle 👍

Shanelle here's a list of some historical films set during the 19th century: The man who would be king (1975 sir Michael Caine & sir Sean Connery), jack the ripper (1988 also sir Michael Caine), the elephant man (1980 sir Anthony Hopkins), the prestige (2006 Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman & again, sir Michael Caine), the ghost and the darkness (1996 Val Kilmer & Michael Douglas), the last samurai (2003 Tom cruise) and far and away (1992 also Tom cruise & Nicole kidman) these are just a few suggestions.

Another period piece you'll like: Topsy-Turvy (also starring Jim Broadbent!).
