--In the original painting, I thought her braids looked like a dagger so I figured it would be interesting to make a scene where Ellie looks up at Grave with an apprehensive glare. He's untying her robe and she's like "I'm not easy prey, but you may proceed" lol. The power dynamic could go either way. He's so much bigger than her and physically more powerful, but she can be contemptuous and unpredictable. I imagine Grave is kind of playful while taking her seriously. He's like "alright, you're the one in power. I'll surrender to you, for now..."

While I'm still ironing things out with the main story, I want to do little tidbits like this to illustrate the direction I'm going in with the revamp. I kind of want to draw the different characters being themselves and also draw them all fucking each other whenever I feel like, just to exercise my free will. The bonus material may or may not be official / canonical, but it seems like fun.What does it mean to be a "professional" artist? I want to provide value, but in MY own way. Throughout all of history, the art made by every master and novice has led us up to this point. Has any of it saved humanity? I don't think any particular thing has that power, so why not make something that will help me better understand myself. I want to live as long as possible, and that wasn't going to happen with the way things were before. I could feel my body start to give out over time. Art won't save me, but developing my actual sense of self will help me heal. It could also be enjoyable and enriching for others to peer into my inner world. I want to write more about that, but I suppose I'll just leave it there.
