Helllo there lovelies, hope you are having an EXCELLENT day so far! This week has been full of more gardening and landscape work, soccer and baseball and swimming lessons for the kids and more sunburns for me (does she never learn) I am still watching Alias when I need a before bed show and also binged the silliest teeny bopper show called Maxton Hall, its german but dubbed and I may have watched it all in a night!

I had so much fun with TRIVIA POP QUIZ 7 with all of you! Thank you so much for coming and playing and making me laugh despite our internet going down 30 seconds in. Our winner Gabor was a big upset in the last 5 questions and I'm so excited about his picks! I will let you know soon! Again a HUGE thanks to Coleton for putting the trivia together and all our mods for helping out!

(I am still missing an email from 2 of our top 6 players. Send me and email at popcorninbed1@gmail.com with your place so I can send your gift card)

This week is POLL city! We have 2 two-parter polls going on right now, with the FINALS of each going up at the end of the week. Go vote on the ST TNG Season 5 episodes and the Olympics Polls! Also to come are a Paris Poll, A MODpick Poll, a 4th of July Poll and more!

Our movies this week are very fun! X-men first class (Carly and I LOVED) Bill and Ted because we needed a fun comedy and always need more KR and TNG 5 episodes woohoo!

When will there be a break from The trek stuff? Seems to have been every week for a couple of months.

Macabre Movie Maniac

Get with Force of Light on YT and do a watch along with Michelle and Natalie

Todzilla

Finally! Bill & Ted get justice!

fish_thefilmcollector

Can't wait for First Class!! I'm sure X-Men Days of Future Past is coming soon. I hope you can find a copy of The Rogue Cut!

David Freese

Excellent!!! Bill & Teds I really hope you enjoy it. Wish I would have thought of it when you asked about the 3 movie this week. Have a Whoa day everyone and go in peace. ☮️✌️

Macabre Movie Maniac

Three months away but Cassie two movies you MUST see for the Fall are What Lies Beneath and The Devil's Advocate. Both creepy but excellent.

MikeLL

So there will be a July 4th poll! So excited for that one. I suggested two musicals before: James Cagney's Oscar winner YANKEE DOODLE DANDY (1942) and the historic 1776 (1972). Hmm, if those were the only choices, I wonder which my fellow Patrons would pick? I wonder (not the Classic Era one, I know! ha ha). So lets throw in another Classic Era movie, James Stewart in MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON (1939) which would be Cassie's third Frank Capra joint! (Hey, Mr. Smith has about as much to do with July 4th as BORN ON THE FOURTH OF JULY!!!) As always most looking forward to the TNG Star Trek reactions (with Unification part 1 being the second episode of the bunch, will we get a three episode reaction???). But I must admit to really wanting to see Cassie and Carly watch X-MEN FIRST CLASS. That will be one fun reaction, as they meet (and re-meet) a new group of X-Men! Can't wait for any of it!

Kent

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure is just one of those movies that is better than it ever had the right to be. Excited to see this finally making its reaction debut :)

Cole Jennett

Well that’s a very nice surprise! Glad you classified Bill and Ted as a fun comedy, it’s not to be taken too seriously.

K, Zachary

Bill and Ted like totally tubular man! Woa! Season 5. Only like two two more seasons to go. 🙏. Wayne's World was better. Bill and Ted philosophizing..... I have said too much. You know Anne Frank her birthday is tomorrow. She would have been 95 had she lived.

Matt Rowland

Cassie, recently joined Patreon here. My wife and I really enjoy your content! One movie I think you should really check out is "Frequency." Great cast (Jim Caviezel, Dennis Quaid) and a really great story.

William Brownlee

Bill and Ted is just silly fun. Not for me, but I am old and past my silly teenage phase. X-Men first class is decent, but they didn't want to do a full reboot so they had to find ways to shoehorn new stories in and lots of times it just scrambles the history of the characters. I hope the new X-Men movies coming are good, but some of the stuff they are putting out scares me.

Grégory Gautier

I think there's a lot of Star Trek, not a fan. I'm waiting for the next month

William Brownlee

Mr Smith is great and Yankee Doodle Dandy is awesome. Hope Cassie gets to both. Frank Cara is my favorite director of all time.

Javier Hernandez

Paris Movies: An American In Paris (1951) struggling artist, love triangle...etc Funny Face (1957) Next top model contest goes off the rails Gigi (1958) the French take love so seriously and marriage so lightly Charade (1963) Mark Wahlburg sorta did a remake of this call "The Truth About Charlie" The Three Musketeers (1973) It's a classic! The Duelists (1977) too much testosterone for two French officers Three Colors: Blue (1992) there are two more films in this series "Red" and "White" French Kiss (1995) not in Paris, but I think you'll love Meg Ryan and Kevin Cline together Amelie (2001) A young woman finds herself while helping others. The Dreamers (2003) A spicy tale of 2 people in love and one along for the ride Head in the Clouds (2004) Journalists and spies in WWII Untouchable (2011) Kevin Hart did an American version called "The Upside" Love (2015) explore obsession in this SUPER spicy flick. The two leads were dating at the time.

Larry Darrell

Bill & Ted?!! Dude! No Way! No… Way

Robert da Spruce

Looks like a fun week ahead! I also had a lot of fun n trivia night! Although I did get kicked out of the stream when you switched to low latency mode (Jon said to refresh the page in the comments. Big mistake 😂) I did keep on playing the quiz and eventually found a new link to the stream on discord. Ended up in the 30’s though ☹️ Congrats to Gabor! And thx to everyone for making the night possible! Looking forward to the next one!

Above Average Dave

Hope you are feeling better, Cassie! This is such a great week — thank you! btw, love to hear your thoughts after FIRST CLASS on Michael Fassbinder as Magneto. I love his performance, which really grows over the prequels. He seems to embody a certain sad/bitter malevolence that Sir Ian only touched on at times.

AzraRillian

Love that movie. If you're new, Cassie has a web app with a list of movies she's reacted to, but also a list of movie requests, where you can add requests. I certainly just added one for Frequency, since you mentioned it. You can find a link to the web app in the pinned FAQ at the top.

Cole Jennett

Amelie is already on the channel

2-Can

Three very different Paris-based movies: The Pink Panther Taken Hugo

MikeLL

About 16 or 17 TV episodes and four theatrical movies and that will likely be the end of it.

Cole Jennett

Frequency keeps moving higher and higher on my personal request list as she gradually progresses through reactions. It moved up one more slot with Bill & Ted coming this week.

Robin T

Ha literally just watched Bill & Ted with the kids last week! Don't skip the sequel. The dirty little secret about Bogus Journey is *it's actually much better than the first one* ;)

ShazD

The next what?

Chris B.

Ooooh! Party On, Cassie!

Popcorn In Bed

it’s funny because on my screen the comment right above is when will there be more trek stuff!! Trying to keep it balanced with two other reactions each week too!

Uncle Phoenix

Possibly a wrong opinion; IF CARLY can dig LOTR, then she can dig “300”.

Uncle Phoenix

CARLY would LOVE; “The Man From Snowy River” and John McTiernan’s film “The 13th Warrior”.

Tom Furze

First Class, awesome. Star trek, continuing to enjoy each reaction. Bill an Ted's, this brings back memories. We have a great schedule to look forward to.

Dan M

Another awesome line up coming up! Can’t wait for your reactions to First Class (I knew you and Carly would love it!). And Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure?!?! NO WAY!! That reaction is sure to be totally triumphant! I was really upset that I missed Trivia Night on Saturday. But my daughter had car issues and was stranded at the beach. I went to help her out and it took awhile, but I got the car running again. And to celebrate, we got some ice cream and sat on the beach for awhile. So, if you’re going to have car problems, I guess the beach is the place for it to happen. Lots of exciting polls going on now AND coming up! I’m really excited to spend my first summer with you, Carly, and the PIB community. ☀️😎 🏖️

Chris Thom

If you're looking for something fun to watch before bed or whatever you might like Atypical on Netflix...especially if you like that coming of age stuff. Personally haven't seen it, but mom, dad, and sister keep raving about it. 'Cutest show ever' apparently.

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Thanks again for watching Batman: Mask of the Phantasm Cassie! I'm secretly hoping it might lead you to watching Batman: The Animated Series, a very acclaimed 1990s TV series that is beloved by pretty much every single Batman fan on the planet!

Tara ✨💫

“WHOA!!” Said Ted Theodore Logan (air guitar)

Richard Maurer

Classic Horror poll please (maybe minimalism will work).

Daniel Karlsson

You should do a Nolan week this summer. Inception, Interstellar and Oppenheimer.

K, Zachary

Classy, You know what show you would love? Boston Legal it has William Shatner in it. It also has James Spader from Stargate in it. It's extremely funny. It was created by David Kelly who created Ally McBeal

Richard Maurer

You can't please everybody Cassie, no matter what you do someone will hate it.

Biggman83

I didn’t say hate it, not sure where you got that from. I just asked a simple question. Cassie, I do appreciate the effort you put in week in week out. I’m just standing by for more content that’s more my thing, and hope that you break up the Star Trek content a bit, for non Trek fans. Feels way more recurring than anything SW or series related

Richard Maurer

Is it even possible to take Bill and Ted seriously?

Richard Maurer

My favorite movies set in Paris: As Above, So Below (2014) The Horde (2012) An American Werewolf in Paris (1997)

Clay F

Javier, nice list.

Biggman83

Should put La Haine in your list.

Biggman83

I think that’s been watched already. I might be wrong

Miguel

For everybody that doesnt like the choices one or two weeks, it comes and goes. Last week I didnt see anything I was interested in, but now Im down for all three this week.

Clay F

I am pumped about Bill and Ted (and more TNG). MOVIES TO CONSIDER FOR PARIS POLL (I posted this list in a comment on the Olympic poll) Les Misérables (1998). Liam Neeson. Uma Thurman. Romance/Crime A Little Chaos (2014). Kate Winslet. M Schoenaerts. Romance/Comedy Frantic (1988). Harrison Ford. Thriller/Crime French Kiss (1995). Meg Ryan, Kevin Kline. Romance/Comedy Taken (2008). Liam Neeson. Action/Thriller Suite Française (2014). Michelle Williams. Romance/War 2 Days in Paris (2007). Julie Delpy. Romance/Comedy Sarah's Key (2010). Kristin Scott Thomas. Drama/Thriller Charade (1963). Audrey Hepburn. Cary Grant. Comedy/Thriller Three Colours: Blue (1993). Juliette Binoche. Romance/Thriller Paris, je t'aime (2007). W Dafoe. Natalie Portman. Etc. Romance/Comedy/Drama The Dreamers (2003) (NC-17). Eva Green (born in Paris in 1980). Romance/Erotic Marie Antoinette (2006). Kirsten Dunst. Drama/History

Richard Maurer

I wasn't really referring to you, just that in general someone will always complain no matter what she does. My comment was more about Cassie not being able to please everyone. You certainly have the right to not like ST (or whatever) but just remember that something you like will have the same reaction with some people.

Brent Petty

2 out of 3 ain't bad. :) I'll go ahead and continue to miss the ST stuff. Not my cup of tea.

Biggman83

If we’re all doing movie suggestions. Can I add ‘Dragonfly’ to a list with Kevin Costner!

Katie Jackson

One I would suggest for the 4th of July poll is called First Man. It came out in 2018 & stars Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong.

Richard Maurer

Well for one, I haven't seen it. And two, I was really just listing horror movies, even though I know they'll never make the poll. Just a bit of commentary about how horror never gets considered for anything outside of October. i care nothing about either the Olympics polls or the Paris polls, and would be happier if neither existed, but you can't enjoy everything here.

Mike Lemon

There needs to be a Canada Day poll too, since Cassie is half Canuck. I nominate Canadian Bacon (1995). Also, since I'm talking about Canada, can Newfoundland finally admit it isn't new anymore? It's been about 500 years already.

Richard Maurer

@Biggman83. Not by Carly. Cassie did watch 300 - and liked it, which I enjoy reminding all the naysayers who said she wouldn't.

AceofSpades501

Can't wait for Batman on Youtube, one of the best shows growing up.

Shad Kanyak

Looking forward to Bill & Ted. Not the Keanu you’re used to.

Cole Jennett

What about New York?😂. Honestly as a Canadian, there’s not enough Canadian movies worthy of a poll. My vote would go to “The Grand Seduction” as it takes place in the Maritimes, but not sure that it’s Canadian made

Cole Jennett

It will always balance out if people are patient

Mike Lemon

New York needs to change too. I say mess with people that didn't pay attention in History and call it Amsterdam (city) and Netherland (state).

Chris Thom

That director has had an interesting career. Some strange choices in there.

Chris Thom

So, so ready for Star Trek to be over.

Chris Thom

Too much Star Trek. It's a lot of time devoted to one show. It's better when it's movies imo.

Chris Thom

Was just thinking a David E. Kelley show would be good. For personal, or the channel or whatever. Ally Mcbeal was so good back in the day.

Chris Thom

Maybe calling them Slightly to Moderately Intense Thrillers might do the trick.

Dean Holt

What an Excellent (sorry couldn’t resist 😂) upcoming week, really looking forward to all these.

Larry Darrell

+1 for An American Werewolf in Paris (1997). Lots of Fun. Always liked Tom Everett Scott. Too bad he never got bigger.

Joel Wayne

Too bad Bill & Ted wasn't able to be with Carly.....y'all would have had so much fun seeing it together.

Brent Petty

Same. We aren't alone. :)

Björn Karlsson

A swedish week, or at least a nordic week 🤩🤩🤩

Brent Petty

Yeah, change it to "Morerecentland" or something. :) Also, Canadian Bacon is hilarious. Every time I watch it, I hum Born in the USA for a few days after.

Brent Petty

Maybe she can watch it with Beeth-oven. :)

Brent Petty

"Thank you so much for coming and playing and making me laugh despite our internet going down 30 seconds in. Our winner Gabor was a big upset in the last 5 questions..." Fingers crossed that the REAL winner ends up being Starlink.

Stick Figure Studios

Had a feeling you'd both love FIRST CLASS (it is one of the best X-MEN movies imo). I think you'll enjoy BILL & TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE. It's a very silly movie, but not a stupid one (it's actually a very smart movie... just about some rather dim characters). As for films about Paris, some of my favorites are AN AMERICAN IN PARIS with Gene Kelly, TAKEN with Liam Neeson, Francois Truffaut's JULES & JIM and THE 400 BLOWS, Jean-Luc Goddard's BREATHLESS, CHARADE with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn, FRANTIC with Harrison Ford, HOW TO STEAL A MILLION (again, with Audrey), Jacques Tati's PLAY TIME, MRS HARRIS GOES TO PARIS, Agnes Varda's CLEO FROM 5 TO 7, Woody Allen's EVERYONE SAYS I LOVE YOU and the original SABRINA with (surprise!) Audrey Hepburn.

Richard Maurer

Can't really think of many classic horror films that are more than moderately intense, in fact I'd classify most as slightly intense (oxymoron?). So yeah, nothing I'd like to see on a classic horror poll (except maybe Night of the Living Dead) would scare Cassie, and most would not even scare Carly (too much, anyway).

Ike

I’m really, really excited for X-Men First Class!! This XMEN ride was unexpected and loving it so far.

Larry Darrell

+1 for River’s Edge (1986), starring Keanu Reeves, Ione Skye, Crispin Glover and Dennis Hopper.

Richard Maurer

@ Chris Thom - People have been saying the same thing almost since this channel began. Star Wars, Marvel, Mission Impossible (me included), James Bond, etc., etc. ST will be gone soon enough.

Richard Maurer

I found Starlink to be buggy. Stopped letting me scroll down early in the quiz to the point I had to bail. Other people had the same problem. Might have been Cassie's internet (I never have problems with mine), but it didn't really seem like a slow internet problem.

Richard Maurer

The Upcoming posts are the main place for people to make suggestions so add anything you like.

Jason Fulbright

Yes, can we please get back to Star Wars! Just playing with you two, Brent and Chris. 😉

Richard Maurer

If they skipped Age of Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, and New Mutants I wouldn't cry, but I'm really glad they're doing the rest. Not enough superhero content on this channel lately, imo.

Cole Jennett

I’d be ok if she skipped those as well, but The New Mutants is the only one that’s totally pointless as at least the other two have many of the same characters

Mark White

Yes, yes and yes to that!

Mark White

Loving the trek Cassie! Great movie line up as well. You are the best! Shout out for the “Pelican Brief” Denzil Washington and Julia Roberts! you and Carly would love it. 🙂

Brian Lowery

Just a heads up. After X-men first class, watch The Wolverine. It leads right into Days of Future Past

Brent Petty

"So yeah, nothing I'd like to see on a classic horror poll (except maybe Night of the Living Dead) would scare Cassie, and most would not even scare Carly (too much, anyway)." Cassie and Carly: Challenge accepted!

Brent Petty

Ugh, no. I'm thinking some more miniseries like John Adams and Generation Kill.

LukeG84

Good line up this week, but with first couple of episodes on the new Star Wars series having just been released I really hope you’ll watch ANDOR and AHSOKA soon! 🙏🏻

Richard Maurer

@ Mark White - one of the main reasons I started asking for a classic horror poll was because of Cassie's "scary but not too scary" stipulation (the other reason being I love classic horror movies) and I wanted to make it easy for her to do outside October. For that reason I've always considered 1969 the cut off point as after that horror starts to get much more nasty. That being said I wouldn't object much if Duel ended up on the poll.

Richard Maurer

@ Brent Petty - Cassie made it through The Shining and It, I seriously doubt that any pre-70's horror will scare her very much. Now Carly is another matter, it would need be on case by case basis, but I think she could get through a lot of them.

Canadianant

All bangers as the kids would say. Love first class. Season 5 is great What can you say about Bill and ted other than Excellent!🎸

Mike Lemon

@Richard- The difference being something "we" like is one watch slot, not 35(?) like Trek is taking.

JohnnyUtah

First class is gonna be a wild ride, can't wait to get to days of futures past! My personal favorite.

Gro Do

She will enjoy Bill and Ted. A most triumphant choice

Björn Karlsson

Scandinavian movies needs lots of requests on popcorn request 🙂

Mark Vaderr

More X-Men movies means that we are closer to starting Planet of the Apes! The polls are great, Cassie. Looking forward to the results.

Clay F

A definite +1 for Planet of the Apes. In the live poll, I voted Planet of the Apes over X-Men. The live poll results were about X-Men = 55% and Planet of the Apes = 45%

Clay F

+1 for First Man. Also stars the awesome Claire Foy

Mojo One Thousand

I couldn't see anyone mention yet, here or the Olympics polls (I'm probably wrong though), "Dangerous Liaisons" (1988) as a Parisian movie.

Clay F

Freaks (2018)

Chris Thom

Planet of the Apes has been popular on reaction channels.

Chris Thom

True. Gandalf is really hard to beat though.

Chris Thom

Was just thinking of that the other day. Grisham is making the rounds on TV right now for his new book and he brought it up.

Chris Thom

Just saw Dark Phoenix again last week. Really was pretty meh for an X-Men film. A pretty unnecessary film.

Chris Thom

She was really into him in Parenthood.

MikeLL

I like all these ideas!

Mark Vaderr

I really enjoyed Jen Murray's reaction to Planet of the Apes. I wish that she would watch the rest of them.

Clay F

Jen's full reaction to Planet of the Apes was the reason I joined her patreon.

Clay F

+1 for "Dangerous Liaisons" (1988)

Clay F

ANDOR is my favorite Star Wars series. Diego Luna said filming of S2 is complete, and that S2 will be released in early 2025.

Clay F

I like the John Adams series. I also like the Star Wars Andor series.

Clay F

How does An American Werewolf in Paris (1997) compare to An American Werewolf in London (1981) she reacted to?

Clay F

Two good choices for the Paris poll.

Clay F

I have nostalgia for “The 13th Warrior”.

Clay F

Should get into Star Trek TNG season 6 next month.

Clay F

May be complete with Star Trek TNG by September or so. Then, there is the Chris Pine Star Trek trilogy.

Philip Alan

Any last place Trivia prizes? Asking for a friend.

Clay F

The Pelican Brief has 30 requests at www.popcornrequests.com

Clay F

William Shatner was also was the police sergeant TJ Hooker in the "TJ Hooker" TV series (1982-1986). The TJ Hooker series was mentioned in the movie True Romance: Alabama: "You're going to be on TJ Hooker?" Clarence: "You get to meet Captain Kirk?"

BRT

So glad ypu're foing First Class before doing all those Wolverine installments. You will love the background/origin stories and all the questions that are answered!

Richard Maurer

@ Mike Lemon - Unless what "you" like happens to be a series or a movie franchise. But even if what you like is just a bunch of random singular movies, there are still going to be people who don't want that.

Richard Maurer

@ Clay F. - AWiLondon is better, but AWiParis is still an entertaining movie. Obviously the fact that the movie must be set in Paris narrows down the choices.

Scott Macaulay

I love that you were asking the questions during X-Men that will be addressed in First Class. I actually liked the young X-Men movies. Like the original 3, I don't like the 3rd one so much.

Richard Maurer

I've always thought that Rutger Hauer had both the look and the acting talent to make a good older Magneto. Ian Mckellen just had the acting ability for the part, he didn't look much like comics version Magneto.

Richard Maurer

PotA is a little overdone on reaction channels at this point. I hope Cassie holds off on it for awhile.

Richard Maurer

While we're at it, how about prizes for the people who whose Starlink connection stopped scrolling down? ;-)

MikeLL

Clay F, oh I forgot those, so 7 theatrical movies, lol.

Clay F

I hope that Cassie (not too long after completing the X-Men franchise) starts reacting to these 5 (no need to rush through them): Planet of the Apes (1968) + the most recent four (Rise, Dawn, War, Kingdom).

MikeLL

Some good picks here!

Clay F

Planet of the Apes After completing the X-Men franchise, I would like to see Cassie react to these 5: Planet of the Apes (1968) + the most recent four (Rise, Dawn, War, Kingdom). That's less of a commitment than the number of X-Men movies she is reacting to. I am also looking forward to Cassie reacting to the Chris Pine ST trilogy after completing TNG.

MikeLL

I thought the Planet of the Apes series was a lock for after Star Trek. But then Star Trek never ended and she put up the poll. Been looking forward to Planet of the Apes 1968 for over two years. Have to start with that one or there will be a riot. After that, can go right to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, as the rest of the 1970's apes movies don't hold up as well, although there are a couple of gems there.

Joe J

For me the ape movies get old pretty quick, only the 68 movie is worth her watching IMO.

Clay F

In a live, Cassie indicated she might eventually react to the Planet of the Apes franchise as with the X-Men franchise. Limit to best five: Planet of the Apes (1968) + most recent four (Rise, Dawn, War, Kingdom). The four reboot movies are better than several X-Men movies IMO. In the live poll, Planet of the Apes franchise didn't lose by too much to the X-Men franchise.

Joe J

I am a fan of Star Trek TNG, but even I'm getting burnout (haha), what with 7 seasons to plow through. I'll be glad when we move on to the TNG movies. Not at all a fan of the Chris Pine reboots, so I'll skip those.

Joe J

Still patiently waiting for some 60s-70s polls, may be a long wait (haha).

Joe J

I think zero chance she'll ever react to any move Star Wars series. Mando S3 got low views for her.

Dean Holt

Nice picks, if she’s doing any action films I personally think Ronin (1998) & From Paris with Love are both great underrated movies.

Clay F

Mike, that is generally what I am thinking.

Clay F

I like Ronin (1998)

Clay F

To me, TNG is getting even better, as Cassie is more familiar w/the crew. I am looking forward to S5, S6, S7, which should be a total of about 18 episodes. Not looking forward to the TNG movies so much, except for First Contact. I am looking forward to the Chris Pine trilogy (reboots) -- I think Cassie will like. As Leonard Nimoy said, Star Trek (2009) has "great heart with the characters. ... capture[s] the essence of the fun of the Star Trek characters, the chemistry between the people, the excitement of becoming part of that crew and going out on this adventure. ... I was pleased with how they treated the Spock character. I thought that they really got it. ... I was very happy to see Zachary Quinto take over the character. I think he’s an excellent, well-trained actor and excellent for the job."

Mark

That was big and kind of Nimoy to say

Cole Jennett

Star Trek (2009) is an absolute 10 for me. I didn’t care for the sequels as much though.

Mark

Can modern Keanu truly be preciated if we never saw old Keanu?

Richard Maurer

A gap between taking on another franchise would be a good thing imo. Especially a franchise that's being done by everyone and their uncle right now.

K, Zachary

Class Cass, So I am not going to lie Bill and Ted were really funny back in the day and then when I got a college education and it wasn't funny anymore. I remember a lot of people thinking it was a funny joke. Now a pair that's so much better is Chris Tucker and Ice Cube in Friday (1995). This movie is funny it's a lot more realistic and everyone at my school was talking about how funny it was. Like everyone.

Richard Maurer

I've been asking (begging) for a classic horror poll for around a year now, so, yeah, might be a long wait.

LukeG84

I hope you’re wrong. Besides, unless I’m mistaken she earns her living through patron subscriptions and not YouTube views. Perhaps if enough of us request them she’ll finally watch them. 🙏🏻

Ben Schwartz

You know Bill & Ted wasn't going for "realism" right? Lol... Both movies (original and sequel) are fantastic... the recent 3rd movie is trash. But yeah, Friday's good too.

Mike Lemon

@Richard- That is why I have been against series and long franchises (a trilogy is about the limit). Just imagine what could have been watched with those 100 plus spots taken by long-ass franchises. We could have had a classic horror movie or two, Enter the Dragon could have been watched already, something obscure like Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1995) might have slipped in, a few of those movies Cassie constantly says she has been wanting to watch, Bjorn could have his movie make a poll, the pillowcase wildcards, and on and on.

Richard Maurer

@ Mike - I hear you, but at the same time I'm enjoying the ST reactions more than I thought I would. And I'm really enjoying the X-Men reactions. I'd also love to see a Godzilla series overview similar to James Bond. I think there's room for both franchises and singular reactions. I do however think the franchise reactions could be spaced out a little more, as I've said in response to posts (in this comments section) about Cassie doing Planet of the Apes next.

OddThomas

Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey is even better imo

Clay F

In the Heat of the Night (1967)

Chris Thom

Same. Kind of wish she would just stick to the movies. It's a looooooong journey with Star Trek.

Happy Hanukkah

Celeste, I might well have missed an update; how goes your personal life?

Happy Hanukkah

"Our winner Gabor was a big upset in the last 5 questions" If he won, why was he a big upset, he should a been a big happy! :-P Congratulations, Gabor, looking forward to your picks.

Larry Darrell

If you’re interested in doing something for Father’s Day, may I suggest… Frequency (2000), starring Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel. Also, with The Northern Lights happening back in May, and again this week in places, you may find that, this year… Frequency is a Fitting Film for Fathers… and their Sons & Daughters. ;-)

Chris Thom

Yeah I'm waiting for the Painfully Average Award myself.

Gábor Árki

Thx. I was quite happy and surprised. But before the last 5 questions I was consistently around #10-15, and thanks to a lucky guess which only 4 of us got right I soared to #1. My picks are: 1. IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT (1967) 2. KELLY'S HEROES (1970) 3. DAS LEBEN DER ANDEREN / THE LIVES OF OTHERS (2006) 4. INVICTUS (2009) 5. HUGO (2011) I'm waiting eagerly and with curiosity which one Cassie will be choosing.

Gábor Árki

Frequency is a good pick, quite underrated IMO. I would also add in BIG FISH (2003) and ROAD TO PERDITION (2002) for a themed poll.

Been promoting that poll for more than a year without a success. I feel 60s/70s movies ended up in a limbo. They are not featured on classics polls because of being too new. But they don't stand a chance at regular polls due to recency bias. IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT (1967) and KELLY'S HEROES (1970) are among my trivia 5 picks.

Continuing with the theme, I'll mention The Judge (2014). And to provide a designated loser for the poll :-P , The Tree of Life (2011). (Those who want to take a chance on a foreign language film can try the Oscar-nominated Footnote (2011).)

Interesting list, as expected :-) . Personally, I'd say #4 is the (worthy) safe choice, while #3 is the one I most wish more people would watch.

YT views (along with the ad revenue that comes with them) are most reactors main source of reaction income. I doubt it's any different for Cassie. This why all reactors tend to do the more popular stuff most of the time. Even Cassie, who has lot of patrons can only afford to do a few less popular things like classics as they tend to tank on YT .

I thought reaction channels didn’t make money on YouTube because the material is copyrighted???

Richard Maurer

You're allowed to do monetized reactions as long as you stick to the fair use guidelines, and YTs own guidelines. Still, reaction vids do get taken done regularly, although a lot of the takes downs get overturned. Trust me, no reactor is doing this just for patreon revenue. It takes a long time (if ever) to get enough patrons to make a sizable profit from patreon. I'm sure the biggest reactors do alright on patreon, but most don't have enough followers to make more than a modest amount (average patreon income is $300 to $1500 monthly). So yes, YT is where there the real money is at. If they didn't make money on YT, why would they bother with all the YT hassle at all?

Wow, The Judge and Frequency in the same thread. Here for it!

I’m curious, have Cassie/Carly seen The Birdcage (1996)?? If not, I feel that would be an awesome Father’s Day watch along. Plus I feel is a way overdue reaction. Please consider.

Stick Figure Studios

FREQUENCY, ROAD TO PERDITION and BIG FISH are all great father-son films. I don't care much for THE JUDGE myself but TREE OF LIFE is my favorite film of all time and would be one of my five picks if I ever win a trivia night.

I thought it was for exposure and sponsorships etc. Good to know she makes money from YouTube too.

Hey Cassie? There are a couple of interesting Warhammer 40K flicks you could take a gander at , both on YouTube -- "Ultramarines" with John Hurt (Alien), Terence Stamp (Superman, Star Wars Episode 1...), Sean Pertwee (Soldier with Kurt Russell), and "Helsreach" which is a long one but a good one, differently animated -- it looks like the entire thing was drawn by hand, black and white at first before slowly shifting to colour, but if you stick with it you'll love it. Everyone who agrees with me? Like my comment plz!

In the Heat of the Night 1967, To Sir With Love 1967, Guess Who's Coming To Dinner 1967 - all of Sidney Poitier's 1967 movies - make it a week. There were so many good WWII movies made in the 1960's - Battle of the Bulge, The Longest Day, Where Eagles Dare, the list is very, very long.

That is a great list, Gabor!
