Oof, that last shot of Joel really stuck the dagger in! Seattle is still completely unhinged, and this episode just added more layers to the chaos. So many questions and only a couple more episodes to go!

Any chance of Andor or Fallout for tv show reactions?

Clarence Newman

So glad Jesse showed up. I like him as a character and the series badly needs him.

Thank you for sticking with it! You knew about the airborne spores in the game almost from the beginning. It usually only showed up underground or in sealed buildings, but in the tv show, who knows. Love your comment about war makes no sense. War almost NEVER makes sense. I'm not going to get philosophical, but people suck.

Ditto

+1 for Andor

Thanks for the reaction. Both the Scars and the Wolves are bad. That was a tease at the end -- so brief. I am hoping we get lengthier Joel flashbacks in the final 2 episodes of S2. I am reserving my judgment of S2 until the end of S2. S2 has had excellent production.

Clarence Newman

Same here, Clay. There will be an autopsy when it's finished. I have to say, though, saying this series has "excellent production" is kind of like describing your mate's blind date as having "a good personality". 😄

Cassie... 'humanity' is pretty much already dead in TLOU. As this goes on, I can see Cassie's interest just leaving her face. And as her interest wanes my disappointment in the series falls even faster... sad... Season 1 was so incredibly good.

Clay F

As far as production quality, S2E2 was one of the best in the history of television.

Clarence Newman

I realise it's Bella's natural "amazed" face, but whether I was immune or not, if I saw those infected veggie folk puffing spore-clouds into the air with every breath, I'd be closing my damn mouth.

A lot of people didn't like the second game and a lot probably wont like this season. This episode is starting to get into my problems with this story which ill say after the final. ALSO, are you at all thinking about jumping on all the potential Thunderbolts views? I know this channel isn't super concerned with that and thats good, but idk. Might be a big earner for the channel.

We actually think season 2 has been good so far I played part II the game so I know what happens. However with Joel returning at the end they are setting us up for a flashback episode as least partially. Andor is great show just a FYI In totally unrelated news which has no bearing on the current TV show We heard Disney is now offering ESPN for $29.99 a month. We already pay 16 a month to watch the Cubs network. Disney must be running low on cash.

Clay F

My son loved the game. Many (including my son) liked Part 2 better than Part 1. As for the TV show, Joel being gone is a void for me.

Thank you for still watching, Cassie

+1 for Andor. For a long time, I had the Disney/Hulu/ESPN+ package -- good deal. Recently changed to Disney/Hulu only because not using ESPN+ enough.

Clay F

Yeah, the Scars are definitely creepy.

zynjams

the game play of the 2nd game was great, however making the player play Abbies character after she murders Joel was crap.

The upcoming Joel and Ellie flashback episode is going to be both heartwarming and heartbreaking.

Good reaction Cassie. Knowing it's not something you are looking toward enthusiastically anymore, your effort speaks to your professionalism and open-mindedness. To answer your question on spores, it's in both games where anytime going underground or in rooms that have not had people for a long time. The players and NPCs would wear masks to roam around. In the show, the writers do not want actors to be wearing masks all the time. So they "swapped" spores for the underground network, which is not in the game. The introduction of spores in this season seems to be from game fans, at least on the surface. But I think mainly because in the game Nora is killed by Ellie this way. in the basement of the hospital. Level B3 is a mystery...for now. All who finished the game can guess what's in B3! (smirk remarks from the creator/writers in the "inside" episode) As for whether spores get to surface and infect everyone, that's a good question. In the first game, Joel told Tommy at Jackson facility that Ellie was able to breath "enough spores to kill ten men." That implies a high concentration of spores are required to guarantee infection, which shouldn't happen in open air. But in the real world, ants are infected by spores...in the dense jungle though.

This is the first time spores have been mentioned in the show, They were a big part of the games starting early in the first game. As a player of the games I'm pretty sure I know which flashback they are setting us up for with that last scene with Joel and an obviously younger Ellie, and I can't be more excited for the next episode. I love how the creators of the show have crafted the story, the sets, the lighting... That wide two-shot of Ellie and the infected Leon Park gently spewing spores into the air, surrounded by all the cordyceps fungus was eerie, horrifying, yet oddly beautiful. and having the lighting in the scene between Ellie and Norah be nothing but red and black—Ellie literally seeing red... Chef's kiss. In many ways it is even better than the game in its execution. And that whole scene showing the parallel between Ellie and Abbie—that they are two sides of the same coin. The position of Ellie and Norah being the same as between Abbie and Joel. The golf club shaped pipe Ellie wielded. The three strikes to her victim's knees. If anything, Ellie was shown to be the more brutal of the two. Abbie had pain mixed with her anger as she beat Joel. Ellie was pure rage. The revenge part of the story is in full swing. But with them being only 1/4 of the way through the story, there is so much more story development to go. Given where they are in season two, this translation of the game is going to be at LEAST three seasons long. Oh, and as far as Ellie "knowing", I don't want to say to much, but as I and others have pointed out before, much of what happened in the five years between season one and two hasn't been revealed yet (the games like the show do love their flashbacks)... and it is important information.

Andor skyrocketed to one of the greatest series in television. I cannot believe how incredibly well done Andor is. I cried the last 3 eps, so beautiful

Anyone who was or is unaware Ellie started to play "future days" by Pearl jam https://youtu.be/FpzGtukbaGY?si=yZv2w3Rzaqg9IRmV and the ending credits song is pearl jams "present tense" https://youtu.be/M4YUdKtZQyE?si=a6yyvuPuJ9BlnBCH If I ever were to lose you I'd surely lose myself Everything I have found dear I've not found by myself Try and sometimes you'll succeed To make this man of me All my stolen missing parts I've no need for anymore I believe And I believe 'cause I can see Our future days Days of you and me Back when I was feeling broken I focused on a prayer You came deep as any ocean Did something out there hear? All the complexities and games No one wins, but somehow, they're still played All the missing crooked hearts They may die, but in us they live on I believe And I believe 'cause I can see Our future days Days of you and me When hurricanes and cyclones raged When wind turned dirt to dust When floods they came or tides they raised Ever closer became us All the promises at sundown I've meant them like the rest All the demons used to come 'round I'm grateful now they've left So persistent in my ways Hey angel, I am here to stay No resistance, no alarms Please, this is just too good to be gone I believe And I believe 'cause I can see Our future days Days of you and me You and me Days of you and me

I love this show, but that scene felt kind of superfluous after the last episode. It was a much shorter episode so wonder if they were just trying to put in a filler scene. First time I noticed anything like that in this brilliant series, so not trying to criticize, it’s just how I felt in the moment

Kiss the Librarian

It definitely felt like filler to me at first. "Oh look, Ellie found another guitar..." But then it felt worth it when she stopped playing and had that far off look, showing how the anger and grief made it difficult for her to continue something she used to enjoy. Ultimately, it seemed good to balance a moment of Ellie's quiet rage with the separate moment where she regretted the whole trip and tried to convince Dina to turn back. It created a balanced question mark for the unspoiled audience before the basement scene. At that point, dead-eyed Ellie wasn't completely out of left field.

Mister Lou

I can't "See At All" anything good coming out of Seattle but I'm here for it!

Maybe your TV needs a bit of tinkering with the brightness as a few reactions recently your having a hard time seeing things when it's dark or it's all the lights in the room making it more differcult. Glad your still watching the show I'm remembering the next part from the game :O

K, Zachary

So I have played the games even Part 2 to the very end so I know what happens. They show is somewhat like the videogame. Of course Eva or My Wild Love is begging me for answers. Answers I am not giving as we are playing. Today we're playing catch-up we are going to watch Batman Returns soon. Btw we went and saw Final Destination Bloodlines last night and I was pleasantly surprised. It plays into each of the following 5. For those of you who don't care and are never going to watch it..... cough cough sorry something in my throat here is a refresher: SPOILERS AHEAD! Or in German Achtung Spolier voraus! https://youtu.be/rJcqPRgMYvY?si=l8vs8OZkT0pnVigA
