Happy 4th of July to all my American frie

I’m grateful to be a part of this country (and Canada) and will never take freedom and sacrifice for granted.

I hope you all are having a wonderful and safe holiday!

Glory and SPR are great movies and great reactions. Jaws is a good one. In this 4th context, I also like Lincoln (2012), Flags of Our Fathers (2006) (directed by Clint Eastwood), Argo (2012), and Apollo 13 (1995). Kinda funny actually—my youngest sister’s name is Cassandra too. She goes by Cass, but definitely not Cassie. So it's a little ironic seeing that name pop up. I go by Mike, even though my full name's Michael. Just don't call me Mikey—never liked that. Only my closest friends are allowed to call me that. Lol. And online, I'm known as The Star Treker—yeah, with one K. I know it's technically "Trekker" with two Ks, but I've always stuck with one. Just feels more like me—makes it stand out.

Cassie- I hope that you all had a great Independence Day! That is a great list of movies to watch to celebrate the 4th. We typically will watch Miracle on the 4th (I still get goosebumps when Al Michaels says “Do you believe in miracles…..YES!!”

Yeah Chris we were on our way home from Chicago and my niece was watching our dogs. She they were going bananas running up down the hallways panting real hard. So we instructed her to hide the pills in the treats designed to hide pills. It took them 15 minutes to stop panting but they did. Our friends in Chi-town told us to ask our vet about tranquilizers.

My friends from high school and I had a lot of fun too, since I live on a cove, the neighbors always go out on the docks and light off big loud fireworks, I'd love to show you some of the footage I took of the fireworks display lol! And to finish off my patriotic movie watching marathon, we watched "Independence Day", plus I always read The Declaration of Independence every year lol! Cassie, it’s too late this year, but next year, for the 4th and for the 250th birthday of this great nation, please watch the mini-series “John Adams” on HBO. It is a well acted and excellent series. Is it 100% historically accurate? Doubtful. But it does tell a great story, much of it, based on writings and letters, is historically accurate and it lays out a great framework of how this country was founded and what our founding fathers went through and what they faced in forming this country. Every one of them signed their death warrant when they signed the Declaration and they were all willing to lay down their lives for what they believed. I think now, 250 years later, so many of them have been forgotten or written off as rich, white slaveholders, but the truth is the majority of them were young men, not of great means and desired freedom for all above anything else. It was produced by Tom Hanks and you will recognize so many of the actors from other roles. I hope you give it a watch. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
