Hey beautiful friends, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We were miraculously all mostly healthy just in time for Christmas and had a great couple days. For the first time, since we have been married, it was just our little family in our home for Christmas and it ended up being really special. Poor Ben stayed up until 4am setting up this hockey foosball table thingy (thought it would be a quicker set-up haha) so we also got a nice Christmas nap. Then on the 27th, my parents surprised up and drove from Canada (with my littlest special-needs sister who usually can't travel with them) and will be staying with us for New Years which has been the best!

This week I was supposed to technically take off, but I kind of accidentally took last week off instead with only Rudolph, so this week we will have two uploads on Patreon-going back to Westeros and our Top 50 Poll Winner with City Slickers. Next week back to regularly scheduled programming-the last two of GOT season 4, our Pick a Flick Winner (Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon) and Justice League (maybe in 2 parts)

Speaking of Pick a Flick! Only 2 more days to enter this months drawing! Enter your pick-a-flick choice here and we will draw in the new year! Can't wait! Remember, you need to submit a pick every month, even if you entered the month before-it will not carry over!

I also wanted to share a little love with you all. Here is a starbucks gift card, you can screenshot it or pull this up on your phone-show it in your starbucks and enjoy a drink and or treat on me. I'm so sorry this is only for USA patrons. Please only one time per patron and I will update on here when it is all gone! The most miniscule thank you but please enjoy!

Thanks for all those who have been helping beta-test the new PiB Website (it will NOT replace Patreon, don't worry) If you are a paid member, at any level here, Ben would love your help testing it out (remember-it is still a work in progress) https://beta.popcorninbed.com Just 2 clicks to link your patreon account and get in there!

Thank you again for everything. The new year coming always gives me weird anxiety-BUT I do have high hopes for PiB, for my family and myself and you all that it will be a good one!

Love your faces!

Cassie

Christmas was good but I think I’m looking forward to some more GOT 🙃

Wes

Episode 8 will be interesting to see haha

Uncle Phoenix

City Slickers?!?? I am so Happy. “H - A - P - P - Y” — A La “Ford vs Ferrari”

Nim

Only 3K youtube subscribers away from HALF A MILLION 😝 Incredible 👍❤️

Blake Evans

Just what I needed to get me through this last week, some GoT and Norman (iykyk). Hellooooo…

Uncle Phoenix

AND Bruce Lee Roy. I couldn’t be happier, unless I was twins.

Michael West

Glad you had a wonderful Christmas. I feel Ben’s pain. The three most terrifying words in the English language… “some assembly required”. Enjoy your time with the family.

Brian Sheely

I’m soooo ready to go back to Westeros with Cassie!

Matthew Brown

Thank you Cassie you are a sweet soul looking forward to City slickers reaction

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

"Here is a starbucks gift card, I'm so sorry this is only for USA patrons." That's OK, Cassie; I bought myself a brand new Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser for myself (I also bought a 2nd one for my mum!). It makes a choice of both hot and cold chocolate in a variety of flavours. The creme brulee flavour is really nice! https://www.hotelchocolat.com/uk/velvetiser-pewter-machine.html?cgid=the-velvetiser A belated Merry Christmas and a Happy 2026 to you and your whole family!

Gray

Great you had a nice Xmas hope you didn't eat as much as i have, don't think I can touch chocolate for a while now 😊. Good news for us the break is already over as some of us are missing GoT.

Monte Durbin

I hope you had a great Christmas! Will you still be reacting to, "Meet Me in St Louis?"

Zane From Canada

Unfortunately, Christmas this year wasn't all good. On Christmas morning I heard that a close family friend was killed in a hit-and-run. 😔😢 This woman babysat me for my entire childhood and helped raise me. 😭 It hurts more when you lose someone close at Christmas time.

David Freese

Thank you Cassie. Continue to have a great holiday season. Glad you all are healthy and enjoyed Christmas. Now off to 26. Nice to see City Slickers and more GoT on the way.

Christian Becker

Greetings, Christmas was fine. The Pick-a-Flick option on the new website works great. Very nice! Funny thing: one of my favourite films, The Dish (2000), is already picked by someone else, which is great! BUT I really have to hope it doesn’t win, because I can’t find a digital copy here in Germany. It seems it is available via Amazon Prime Turkey, or on a streaming service in Switzerland, though.

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

Just out of curiosity, Cassie, roughly how many suggested DVD/Blu Rays have been sent to you to watch? Whenever I see the bag on YT Live, it looks like a LOT! I was thinking of sending you a region free Blu Ray of a movie I love but I'm not sure given the already large number of films you've been sent already.

Mike Redford

Glad you had a good christmas, Cassie. We also stayed home. Older brother and his wife and kids visited. Everyone was pretty much over ham/turkey so we had a christmas BBQ. Ribs, beans, slaw, mac n cheese, the works. City slickers should be fun. So is the sequel. Looking forward to 2026, the poppies, all the things.

Clay F

At popcornrequests.com, it notes if a movie she hasn't seen is already in her DVD/Blu-ray collection. Her collection is massive. She has shelving in a room filled with DVDs/Blu-rays sent to her.

Above Average Dave

Thank you for this! Glad everyone is relatively healthy! Dang, I can’t remember if I picked my flick of the month. Dec 1 is so far away. Is there anyway I can check whether I did or not?

Bill W

Can't wait to see the City Slickers reaction. Please be sure to watch City Slickers 2 as well.

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

1250 unseen movies sent. Bloody Hell! Well, I've just had a look and the film I'm thinking of posting to Cassie is not there!

Bill W

Cassie, you are too sweet. Next time, instead, get a Tim Horton's card for your fellow Canucks. 🤣🍁

Fanny Adams

Does this mean that there will not be any early release YT reactions for Little Kernels again?

Daniel John

Go on her Instagram...she has a video recently of her shelves she built with her movies in a little hidden room. I'm so jealous.

Stuart Guthrie

Cassie, I'm glad you and your family had a great Christmas. Thanks for the gift card.

Clay F

Yes, you can. Click on "PiB Pick-A-Flick" under PATREON FAQ's/ START HERE above, and then click on "CLICK HERE TO CONFIRM YOUR SUBMISSION".

Stan the Man

I don’t live in America but holy smokes that is so nice and so generous of you. I’ve never seen a YouTuber do something like that. As a fellow Canadian seeing you be so generous gives me great pride. Glad to hear your Xmas was awesome and hope your new year is also just as awesome.

Vincent Vega

Nothing on YouTube this week? Also, when can we expect to see the Gremlins reaction please?

Bill Maurer

a belated Merry Christmas and a Happy, Safe and Prosperous New Year to you and your family and everyone on this site (and their family)!!!!! "Justice League " !!!!!!! Yes, cannot wait !!!

Chris Thom

Aww that sounds like a great Christmas. Fun to have some smaller, intimate ones. We had six at Christmas and it was great. The bit about the foosball table reminded me how over the moon HYPED I was at nine getting an air hockey table. So exciting. Actually have some nagging guilt about some great Christmas gifts from my parents over the years. Feel like a spoiled brat in somewhat expecting a nice gift every year in childhood. Weird feeling. Remember snapping at dad because he couldn't figure out how to play the new video game he got me one year, and he seemed hurt. Regret is such a b--. Ugh maybe a topic for therapy someday. Lol. Anyways, glad the fam had a good time and all are healthy. Happy New Year! Edit: Had a really nice chat with dad last night and thanked him for all the fantastic Christmas's and gifts over the years. Talked for an hour about all the good times we had as a family over the years. Guess it's never too late to...I don't know. Show appreciation or love or make some amends.

Clay F

Glad y'all mostly healthy just in time for Christmas. The 2 parents (you and Ben) w/just the kids on Christmas Day at home is special -- I remember doing that and loving it. That's cool you now have surprise visit from your parents w/your special-needs sister -- staying for New Years. That Starbucks gift is nice. Looking forward to GoT. This week and next week.

Chris Thom

So sorry to hear. RIP. Hope you had some good moments too this holiday. Remember your friend fondly.

Gray

Think they are giving the YT editor some holiday

Chris Thom

I had an incredible cup of hot cocoa last week but I have no idea what it was or where it came from. Chocolate Velvetiser is bringing back memories though. Tasted like melted Ghirardelli.

Collar City Guy

So very glad you and the family had a happy, nearly health Christmas. Hope you have a great time with Mom, dad and your baby sister while they are in town, and may the New Year be safe, healthy and prosperous for the entire PIB community!

Phil Stubblefield

A City Slickers reaction plus a Starbucks card? Cassie, you are an absolute delight! 🩷

Chris Thom

Steve I was listing moderators in a comment the other day and I could not for the life of me remember if you were one of them. I know you always have answers and a boat load of relevant information on YouTube premieres (thank you for that by the way, I learn so much about movies from you and it's such a good time), but couldn't recall if you were technically a mod?

Chris Thom

Saw a video on YTube about the Tim Horton's menu the other day and it looks amazing.

Fanny Adams

Kinda new here, I did not know that thanks!

Stephen Wadsworth

Happy new year! Looking forward to more great content in 2026.

Above Average Dave

As always, Steve, you are THE Man! Some good news about the new novel coming soon.. Very exciting!

Mike Lemon

Stop babysitting everybody! (jk) The PIF odds are already terrible and because of the reminder 10% more people just submitted a pick. (back to not kidding) If people can't remember to do it themselves, I say tough, that's their problem. It is already listed in the FAQ and there is that huge reminder every month, the drawing.

Steve Holton

Hi Chris. Hope you had a great holiday! No, moderators are Jon Johns, Coleton B, ItsMeDave, and Cole Jennet. And they do great work. Thanks for your kind words. Yes, trying to curate interesting stuff about films for the premieres. But sometimes it's pretty thin sauce and I all I have is that the building that they blew up in "Enemy of the State" used to be a bottling plant. Which thankfully I wasn't banned for writing. 😊

JohnnyUtah

City Slickers! Yeeeehawwww That's also super generous, I will have a cheese Danish on PiB!

Bill W

I had no idea they had so many US locations. (600+) Most are around Detroit, Buffalo and Columbus, OH. They are now owned by the same parent company as Burger King, Popeyes and Firehouse Subs.

Richard Maurer

Glad you were all healthy for Christmas.

YodatheHobbit

Can't wait to slick some cities! PS: I recently found out my great great grandparents did a 30 steer cattle drive and migration from Texas to the Warner Ranch in San Diego, CA in the 1800s where there's a road named after them, and small graveyard where many were buried. This movie might feel a little more personal to me with that information now.

Garrett Wilson

Your offering of coffee was accepted and the perfect way to start off a productive afternoon! Happy New Year's everyone!

Catherine LW

What a sweet surprise to have your parents and sister come for the holidays! Thank you for the Starbucks gift, you are so good to us, Cassie.

Clarence Newman

There's never a good time for that kind of news, Zane. You have our sympathies, mate.

Popcorn In Bed

we have our editor the week off but hopefully gremlins this week as he had already edited it!

Gray

Not really the style of this channel to say tough this is PaF not the national lottery for millions.

Richard Maurer

I’ll be interested to see what she thinks of JL. Since she’s talking about a possible two-part reaction I have to think she’s watching the Snyder cut.

Popcorn In Bed

Oh no, i’m so sorry for your loss. Tragedies at Christmas hurt so much. Praying for peace for her family and yours

Popcorn In Bed

YT edit might be next Christmas or for a rainy day :)

Cole Jennett

It wouldn’t be worth the blowback to do Whedon’s version, even though in this case I think less was more

Cole Jennett

I was surprised to learn there wasn’t a Tim Horton’s in Minneapolis. The Canadian players at World Juniors mentioned it, lol. I would have thought with it being not too far from the border it would have hit there too

Cole Jennett

“Enemy of the State”, Steve?

Steve Holton

Thanks Cole! EDITED. As I said, the moderators do great work. 😊

Doc Larry/old geezer

🎬 A Comprehensive List of Rob Reiner Films Directed • Produced • Acted Below is a comprehensive, chronological list of Rob Reiner’s feature films—those he directed, produced, and acted in. I think this could make an interesting poll in the New Year, given the extraordinary range and lasting cultural impact of his work. Some of these films have already been watched on the channel and can be eliminated; however, I thought it would still be worthwhile to present a complete list for those who truly enjoy watching and discussing great movies. Bill Maurer

Yeah, the only two-part reaction for the Whedon version is in between take of vomiting and nausea.

Brogan

What a nice gift! Thanks Cassie happy new year! (Got my parents coffee and told em about your channel haha)

Variable38

I hope she understands that The Last Dragon is weird and cheesy on purpose and shouldn't be taken seriously.

Clarence Newman

Good news and bad news on the Christmas front. Bad news - Wifey caught a lurgy three days before Christmas. Good news - she's a female so she recovered in the middle of her second sneeze. Bad news - I caught her lurgy and was in the ICU from the 23rd to Boxing Day. Good news - The NFL games since then have been so good, I forgot I was sick. Salut to my Patriots! Bad news - I am British so have been ethnically excluded from Cassie's Starbucks gift. Good news - I am British and therefore only drink tea. Coffee is considered voodoo juice over here. Good news - Cassie is watching City Slickers and GoT this week. Bad news - There is no more bad news. Emilia Clarke is as cute as ever in her elf suit, Cameron Diaz is enjoying her English cottage vacation, Bruce Willis is still one step ahead of Hans Gruber and, as it turns out, Love Actually....Is....all around us. Bottoms up, fellow patrons!

Richard Maurer

I blame Warner Brothers for pretty much everything wrong with the DCEU. Just like I blame them for The Hobbit movies. They sure knew how to mess up a franchise.

Mike Lemon

Well... they have said "tough" a few times.

Steve Holton

Glad you're feeling better Clarence!

Bill Maurer

... and now WB is up for sale. Go figure

Richard Maurer

I believe they have something vaguely resembling tea at Starbucks. Not that it matters for you, Englishman.

Mark White 2

Hello everyone, can anyone see this comment?

K, Zachary

Dear PIB Family and distinguished PIB viewers, Geez I thought my 5 siblings + my gf and I had it bad. Staying up all hours of the night. It wasn't all bad we snuck my Mom's dogs into the hospital to see my Mom. https://photos.app.goo.gl/serGmqbEnYduR1Ce9 For more on my Mom's dogs check my YT channel. Anyway nothing to say about last week or this. My mind keeps repeating a week will be in Colorado! I have been playing this song pretty much everyday since my Mom's accident. Enjoy! I think this is from there album Recovering The Satellites https://youtu.be/1D5PtyrewSs?si=cewSLbnRnjGpB6u4

Mark White 2

I’m just wrote a message and had it removed by Patreon! I’m trying to explain what has happened to my account!

Anthony Carlson

Yes I can see you Mark. Welcome back Mark!

Mark White 2

Hi Clarence, glad you are feeling better. I’m having a few issues with Patreon mate! I just posted a message like you said to in the last update about my problems I have been having at it keeps being removed! Can I try tagging it on to your comment mate to see if they remove it again?

Canadianant

Glad there was a great Christmas at the house of popcorn. I'm looking forward to more game of thrones and City slickers this week. Should be good stuff

Above Average Dave

Feel better, Clarence. Also, beware National Health Service. I heard they didn’t want any sick humans over the winter.

Mark White 2

Dear Cassie/Ben/moderators I have just tried to place a comment about my issues with Patreon I am having. As I wanted to explain my dilemma I am in! With my account being removed! Hence my I am on a free membership second account at the moment. However my comments keep being taken down. I have sent a email to you on your support email. Any help or advice most appreciated. Thank you. Mark

Clarence Newman

I am pointing my big foam finger at Mark White's comment below and will continue to do so until his woes are sorted. Patreon is being a pain to everyone lately, but Mark doesn't deserve this headache.

Clarence Newman

Tag away, Mark. I've added a new comment above just in case. This problem needs solving quickly.

Clarence Newman

No worries, Dave. We British self-diagnose using the internet these days.

Mark White 2

Cheers mate, im going to try and put my comment in two parts now and see what happens

Mark White 2

Dear Cassie/Ben/Moderators Please can you help? About a month ago my annual subscription was up for renewal. I took the opportunity to upgrade to extra butter. I was excited as I love your channel and I was looking forward to joining in on the monthly lives. I then found after a couple of weeks, around the 15th, my entire Patreon account was deleted, including my popcorn to go as well. I contacted Patreon help about this. In the beginning there requests for bank information to help them find my account was basic, such as my name, email address, other emails used, last four digits on my bank card. However with progressive emails they requests more and more. With bank name, expiry date, other bank cards used etc. I gave them all this information. However they are now asking for my final numbers which would give them my entire bank card number! I’m not sure why they need my entire bank card number to find me on their system!

Mark White 2

I have contacted the bank to which they have said NOT give them my final bank numbers! The person I have been emailing at Patreon has said they can do nothing more without my final bank numbers! I have sent you a email on support@popcorn with all the emails sent between myself and Patreon support. Plus the screen shots they requested showing my payments for an annual subscription for Extra butter and PtG (fr)monthly. As my efforts with Patreon support have meet with no help, I am reaching out to you to help me. Maybe a email to them might help? I’m sorry to write this on here. But right now all I have is a free membership account. I am thinking of setting up another payed account on a monthly so at least I don’t miss out on PaF. It just seams not right to have to pay twice! Again sorry about this, I just miss being a part of the community. You really have the best reactions and best fellows Patreons. I’m glad you had a wonderful Christmas with your family ❤️

Clarence Newman

Richard. Starbucks tea tastes like liquid feet. I will be taking my custom elsewhere for the rest of my life.

Popcorn In Bed

I'll have Ben take a look at the email! Sorry for the troubles Mark!

Mark White 2

Thanks Cassie, I just really want to get back to normal.🙏 Miss you all joining in on the fun. ❤️

Chris Thom

Said it once, I'll say it again. Patreon is whack attack lately. Whack I say! Would bet they're trying to implement ai where it was happily absent. Mine is five times as slow loading as it used to be, and always giving me a notice that privacy no longer exists on the site or some crap. I mean I still enjoy Patreon bigly, but not every update HAS to make things worse. Just a thought.

Clarence Newman

I believe it's the word "stupid" Cassie doesn't allow her kids to use, though when applied to people named Tywin or Ramsey, the likes of "kill", "maim", "disfigure" and "nut punch" are provisionally acceptable.

Chris Thom

Hope mom is alright. It's just a short stay at the hospital?

Mark White 2

Thanks for your support Chris. I hope you had a lovely Christmas 🎁🍻

Happy Hanukkah

"We were miraculously all mostly healthy just in time for Christmas" It's a Christmas miracle! :-) Enjoy your New Year's special guests.

Chris Thom

Oh wow I didn't know there were any.

nick bell

Happy new year Cassie

Steve Holton

Hi Mark. Hope you had a great holiday. Other than this hassle. If you would like to circumvent using your bank information in the future (I read your other thread) you might try an intermediary service like PayPal, Google Pay or the like to circumvent problems like having to give out bank info to help desk personnel. I use PayPal for Patreon and so far, it has been without incident.

Chris Thom

1250? Seriously?? Or did you mean 250?

Johnny Liu

thank you for your generosity Cassie :)

Bill W

"That's a good 'yahoo', son!" 🤠

Sarah Newling

I used the gift card for a lil sugary sweet treat while I grocery shop for the week/prep for new years. Happy Holidays, errbody!

Bill W

Ohh! that reminds me I have to pick a terrible movie to submit!! 🤣

Mark White 2

Thanks Steve, I did. I had a lovely time with my Wifey and Family. Yes, I definitely should of used my wife’s PayPal, as Lucy has been telling me 🤦‍♂️ I’ve never been all that clever with this sort of thing I’m afraid! 😆

Mark White 2

Cassie, it sounds like you had a lovely break. You deserve it. Ben staying up until 4! To make a foosball table, that’s just the sort of thing I would do 😆 “I’m not quitting until it’s done!” 😂 It looks like more great movies, I can’t wait to see your Gremlins reaction! and once I’m sorted with Patreon I will have loads of GoT to catch up on, so every cloud and all that! Very kind of you with the Starbucks. Finally, just want to say this community is the BEST! I reach out and everyone is so supportive and helpful. Thank you my fellow PiBers ☺️

Johnny Bullis

Im glad youre all feeling better.. and yes the joys of being a dad putting together the toys at all hours.. Im loving your new website.. Ben did such a good job on it.. great place to recommend movies to you that might otherwise get overlooked. Hope you have a great New Years.. and if you can please dont split Justice League up.. itll be tricky to sync it with you once the movie is already going. But we understand if you have to.

Mark White 2

Zach, Hope your mom gets better soon.

Chris Thom

One of the bigger question marks I've ever had here. Zero clue if she'll enjoy it. Feel like maybe the Flash scenes with the music in Snyder's will resonate? I don't know. Action packed with neat affects and color grading might entertain. Also curious to see. 4 hours is a beast though. I watched in three parts the first time.

Anthony Carlson

Thank you for the Starbucks card! Hopefully I’ll get to use it before it runs out… I’m glad you had a great Christmas! So did I! Not as many people around, but good nevertheless. I watched It’s a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve (tradition of mine), and had family over at my parents for dinner on Christmas Day. Currently, as I type this, I’m at another MSU basketball game awaiting tipoff. Go Green! Hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and have a great New Year’s Day too!

Alexis Vorian

I'm from abroad, but still, you're very generous Cassie!! I won't be here next month because I'm on a tight budget right now, but i'll be back ASAP.

Richard Maurer

I don’t drink tea or coffee, it’s all trash to me. The only time I’ve ever had from Starbucks was about a couple of months ago, when a so-called friend bought me a pumpkin spice chai latte, which she claimed was a type of tea. Fortunately this was right before I left so I only had to choke down a couple of sips. I did ask her what size can of pumpkin spice did they dump into the tea, but she laughed it off, so I took it home with me before I poured it into the toilet.

FranciscoGios

Hello Cassie, I just finished hibernating from the Christmas season, sorry but every December my energy is drained and can’t get my head straight. But I’m glad that your parents surprised you guys for this New Years!! And I hope your Ben finishes the new something on the other web. And glad no more sickness in your family for the New Years.

bgb1975 (Brian)

Thank you, Cassie and company! Love, love, love your content.

Matt Dellarosa

Glad your Christmas went well Cassie. Best wishes to you and your family as you enter the new year. Youre gonna love City Slickers. Its right up your alley.

Sam R.

Glad to here you had a Merry Christmas in good health. what a blessing for your family to have your sister at your home. Happy New Year 💖

Chris Thom

I'm gonna jump in and say 'you're welcome' because I suck. Lol. But you're a rad PIBer yourself. Along with many here. Been nice meeting decent people here with good attitudes, and thoughtful comments. Best to you and wife.

Chris Thom

Hundred bucks there's a handsome actor in his prime just waiting for Cameron Diaz in that cabin to teach her the power of love and vulnerability...because she's Cameron Diaz.

Clay F

+1 for popcorninbed. com and the beta testing.

Art of Free Speech

As others, glad you had a nice Christmas. Mine was quiet, which was what I wanted. As a quick side question about the beta-app, if we put our Popcorn pick in there, I would guess we don't need to do it through the patreon page, is that right? It says my pick is for Dec. 2025, but not sure if that's really for the month upcoming or not.

Cathleen Jennings

Does this mean Cassie didn't watch Gremlins (since she didn't post it last week)? Is she skipping Christmas poll winners?

Richard Maurer

She watched Gremlins and posted it in Patreon. She just hasn’t posted it on YouTube yet.

Chris Thom

Maybe one of her most confused 'what the heck am I watching' reactions ever.

Richard Maurer

I don’t think anything confused her more than Howard the Duck.

Cole Jennett

The December draw happens in early January so sounds like your pick is in. I’m not positive, but for this month, I’d expect the drawing will come from the entries made on Patreon so I’d make sure it’s entered there too. If Ben is pulling from the beta app as well, he will catch it and make sure it only counts as one anyways. But just in case the entries don’t count if only posted on the beta app, it’s better to be sure.😊

Art of Free Speech

Thank you, Cole. I appreciate it. I hate to make extra work for them if I don't have to, ya know?

MikeLL

Chris, I have noticed Patreon being super slow to load lately, and thought it was my computer!

Lukas

I forgot, glad for the update to remind me. I hope your movie doesn't win.

Milton Reduxed

My vote would be Spirited Away for Cassie's most confused

Mike Lemon

I wouldn't say "lately", it has been a while so far. It was six months ago (I think) that Patreon wouldn't let me renew PiB monthly, I had to cancel and go yearly. Then there is the slow loading that many have had problems with and there are the deleted messages- few but frustrating.

Mark White 2

Frustrating is one word, I can think of many others! 😆

Richard Maurer

Bjorn - if she ever watched Santa Sangre her mind would definitely be blown. I’m just not sure she’s ready for that level of movie insanity - yet.

Richard Maurer

Personally I liked it overall, but it was too long and dragged at times.

Milton Reduxed

Next month is the 1st anniversary of PaF, so how about a celebratory double-draw?

John A

Your own site is smart, might as well reap all those ad revenue benefits you're missing out on with patreon. Reminds me of the great movie Midnight Run, you should watch it 😏

Byrd N. Hand

Of course, she hasn't seen a David Lynch film yet...

Byrd N. Hand

Did you deliberately omit "Spinal Tap II," or did you just run out of room? 🤷‍♂️ Frankly, I feel it's one of the very few decent films he directed post-"American President." 🤔

Doc Larry/old geezer

@Byrd N Hand Good day and a Happy New Year, my friend. if there is a Rob Reiner Poll Cassie is 100% in charge of the final content. The reason I did not include Spinal Tap II: The End Continues (2024) is simply availability. To the best of my knowledge, it has had a limited theatrical release and is not yet available for streaming. That said, if it is currently available in theaters, or becomes available to purchase via DVD or streaming, it absolutely deserves to be added to the list. It was left off for that reason alone not for lack of enthusiasm.

Clarence Newman

Great idea. She should also watch the picks of the first and last names on the list alphabetically. Fair warning, Aardvark Newman and ZeeZee Top Notch Road Movie will be on that list.

Byrd N. Hand

Er, Amazon ruined Tolkien with Rings of Power, Richard. The "Hobbit" trilogy looks like a masterpiece in comparison to that. 🤐

Byrd N. Hand

It's definitely on DVD, since I got it shipped to me on the day of its release back in November.

Byrd N. Hand

There was a Tim Horton's just a mile or so away from me here a couple clicks north of downtown St. Paul, but it ended up going under -- I can't remember if it was during the pandemic or shortly before... 🤔

Byrd N. Hand

YT edits for both "White Christmas" and "The Shop Around the Corner" didn't come out until the following Christmas; evidently they're doing it again for that one. And I'm guessing at this point Cassie never got around to watching "The Bishop's Wife"?

Cole Jennett

I don’t see EdTV on there Larry. He acted in it, and it’s probably my #1 of movies he’s associated with that she hasn’t seen prior to or on the channel.

bgb1975 (Brian)

Yes! Midnight Run! She and Carly would love it!

Joe J

Two chances Cannonball Run could get picked is a very scary thought for Cassie.😆

Doc Larry/old geezer

@Byrd N Hand Hopefully, that film may be included if Cassie decides to do a Rob Reiner poll. If you’re especially fond of it, you could always choose it during Pick-A-Flick. That would give Cassie another opportunity to watch it and share her reaction.

Doc Larry/old geezer

@cole Jennett Thank you for bringing that up. I’ve now added a separate list of films in which Rob Reiner appeared as an actor only, to keep everything clear and complete.

Byrd N. Hand

If she also finally watches "Godfather III," "Terminator 3," "The Matrix Revolutions," "Red Dragon," and "Hannibal," I'll allow it. 🤨

Bill Maurer

Never even started on Amazon's Rings of Power ... Leave well enough alone

Mark White 2

January 21st is the the 5th year anniversary of the first PiB YT edit. It would be great if Ben or Matt could do a sort of “mixtape” 3/4 mins of Cassie best reaction moments and some of those scenes that have had Cassie full of laughter/emotion.

Björn Karlsson

Dawn Marie did a reaction of SS. She didnt hate it 😆😆

Bill W

I think much of her confusion with HTD wasn't so much "WHAT am I watching?", but "WHY am I watching this?" I don't know what other movies were on the poll along with it, but come on. Why would anyone even send her that?

Uncle Phoenix

lol. Bro we are old but we had the best childhood. 🥰

Mike Lemon

Or watch "that movie" and close that wound.

Ted Whalen

Mark- January 21st is one of my favorite days of the year…..hmmmm…..I guess it’s because it is my bday!!!!!! So that mixtape would be a good bday present!

Clarence Newman

No half measures from our Mike. He always goes The Full Monty.

kaiielle

I'm so happy to hear that sickness wasn't present over the holidays and I'm glad you had a wonderful time. Christmas Day with just immediate family is very special - I have very fond memories of that from my own childhood, even though I still enjoyed seeing extended family too. I'm looking forward to the return of Game of Thrones! And I'm glad you're not committing to a full week of reactions so you can enjoy the time with your parents and sister. ❤️ The new website has been very fun to test out and give feedback on and Ben's hard work shows on every page. I can't wait for the official launch of it!

Mojo One Thousand

Glad all was good for PIB over Christmas... it wouldn't be Christmas if there was a late night of construction of one thing or another... we still talk in my family when my father and I had a lively "debate" about constructing a trampoline in the wee hours for my nephews. So I can relate to poor Ben.

Gray

She was intrigued with the idea of watching Shawshank with Carly as it was the first movie on YT.

Gray

it won a poll on YT it was either that or being traumatised by Come and See which was one of the movies I remember on that poll

SeanATX

Wonder which day GoT will drop. Seems like forever since the last eps!

Richard Maurer

Bill - I think it was a combination of WHAT and WHY, which seems to be a fairly common reaction to Howard the Duck.

Cereal and Grape Juice

My brain has been heavy on GoT the last while. Started watching with Cassie (my 4th watch). Then started binge-watching with my mom in Zoom watch parties (5th) and we start the last season on Thursday. We'll most likely finish on the weekend and my mom is so hooked she bought the books and definitely wants to watch the series again ASAP (upcoming 6th). Getting to watch it with people who haven't seen it is awesome! And I get PiB and my mum!

Katie Sivak

Please watch Stranger Things Things With Carly. I know you started it but season three and four are some of the best seasons and it only gets better every season. I think he would love the kids in the storyline.

Chris Thom

Oh Geeze yeah those take a minute to finish. Especially if they have those nets now. But that was probably my favorite Christmas gift of all time. Those were so fun. Until a tree fell and smashed it in half. But that was like eight years later.

Chris Thom

Been watching the current season. Really enjoying it. How did you like it?

Katie Sivak

Started good waiting to see how it ends

Chris Thom

Had forgotten how prolific he was in the industry. Wouldn't mind seeing The Story of Us again. Remember liking it, but not much else about it. Do remember it having some great music in it. Classical Gas for one.

Richard Maurer

Byrd - while I agree about Rings of Power, WB could have just let Peter Jackson make the Hobbit film he wanted and given him more time to make it. It’s not like he didn’t have a proven track record with Lord of the Rings. As it is The Hobbit films are decent but they could have been so much better without the WB’s interference.

Brent Petty

I hope City Slickers is a watch w/ Carly. I think both of them would love it.

Byrd N. Hand

My only real issues with the "Hobbit" movies are how underwritten Fíli (given his fate) and Glóin (given his ties to LOTR) were; that Azog and Bolg should've probably been combined into one character (in other words, just Bolg); that Legolas, Tauriel, and Alfrid probably shouldn't have been quite as prominent as they were; and the lack of any sort of hint as to why Radagast was completely MIA during the events of LOTR. 🤷‍♂️ I honestly liked some of the other liberties Jackson & Co. took. But, really, the book is lighter, more episodic, far less detailed, and less epic and complex than LOTR, so one *had* to know it was never going to live up to that. Nonetheless, I think Jackson did a good job at making both trilogies still feel like the same world despite the general tonal differences.

Richard Maurer

I didn’t like a lot of things about the Hobbit films - creating characters that didn’t exist in the book, adding unnecessary stuff that either didn’t happen at the time of The Hobbit or never happened at all canonically, the use of cgi for the orcs and goblins, the whole Bombur part of the barrel ride and other comedy bits, the Battle of the Five Armies (too Hollywood, less gritty LotR style fighting). Things I liked were the Smaug sequence, some of personal interactions between the various characters, the opening sequence of the dwarfs gathering at Bag End, a few other things. Most anything else that I didn’t mention was mediocre, neither good or bad.

rhaegar

Thanks for the treat!

Mark White 2

Hi Cassie, I have just received another email from Patreon, basically saying it’s down to you to help me! So sorry about this. I have sent it to you and Ben on the support/popcorn email. Any help much appreciated.

Byrd N. Hand

"Creating characters that didn't exist in the book" -- Again, why I mentioned that Legolas, Tauriel, and Alfrid probably shouldn't have been as prominent as they were... though given that Tolkien retroactively established that Legolas was Thranduil's son (who himself wasn't given that name until the LOTR appendices), so it should've stood to reason that he was part of the Woodland Realm at this time...and given that there were no female characters in the book, I'd hardly say the addition of Tauriel was unnecessary.

Rick Williams

Happy New Year. I am glad you and your family had a good and healthy Christmas. God bless you and your family in the new year.

Gray

Happy New Year Everyone!! 🎉🎉

Happy Hanukkah

Did someone say foosball? I demand, *demand*, a reaction to 100 Girls (2000)! In fact, I shall now buy 500 memberships and flood the Pick a Flick!

Kyle Aitken

Glad to see GoT is coming back, too late for me though. This is my last day on Patreon, I signed up for the GoT content and it's far too slow in coming.

Cole Jennett

Come back in a few months when you can binge the rest at your own pace!

Clay F

2 episodes per week is not bad. Greanted, did skip a week in October and at Christmas, but those were outliers and I don't see her skipping that many weeks.

Joe J

She skipped a few weeks, oh the horror, the horror...LOL.

Kyle Aitken

And if that's the content I want to watch I can choose not to pay if she doesn't want to prioritize it.

Clarence Newman

It's a fair point, Kyle, especially as money is tight for everybody right now. We look forward to seeing you back in a few months when you'll have a stack of them to watch. Till then, mate.

Zach

yeah its been since Dec15th

Zach

i actually unsubbed for week 15-21 of Dec then reupped a week later for Christmas(money and bill issues)....now i had to wait 3 weeks basically lol Supposedly the next ones are tonight(Friday 2nd) or sat or sun.. im hoping...

Zach

I had 2 pigeons, bright and gay, fly from me the other day, Where is it , they did go, you cannot tell, you do not know. If you figure out the riddle, in that last sentence, it might be time for Cassie to watch Die Hard , with a Vengeance

Zach

To my demise, yet my surprise, she watched it already in 2023, 1 day before July :)

Ricky

I'm confused, was this meant for this week or next week? Lol

Clay F

This "week" which generally means Wed-Tue. GoT dropped yesterday (Sat). City Slickers should be today (Sun), tomorrow (Mon), or Tue (the final day of the week).

Richard Maurer

This is exactly what I expected when I heard about subscriber numbers being up for GoT - when it’s done so will be many, if not most, of these new subs. They’re here for GoT, and that’s it.

Joe J

Richard - Roughly 50% of those who initially signed-up as new patrons for GoT were gone by November. Still, Cassie will make very good money on the show, and that's what matters running a business.

K, Zachary

Thanks for all the well wishes she's at home with my siblings coming over to feed the dogs. She has PT and Occupational Therapy come at least once a week. Forgive the lateness of my reply we have been traveling all day had to pull off Interstate 15 to get some lunch. I am on the chat with my siblings so I have been getting constant updates. She has to have a walker now. For the time being anyway. The ski trip was planned so we wouldn't miss the poppies like we did last year. Yeah my gf called Cassie admirable and some girl of any age can look up to. So yes my mother is doing much better m

Richard Maurer

Clarence are you still on extra butter? Don’t see you over there much since I first joined.

Clarence Newman

I'm still Extra Butter, and I used to post on there every day. But honestly, I lost interest in it when the FAQ thread was closed down. As you know, that really popped our balloon and I lost enthusiasm for everything PiB for quite a few weeks. I eventually came back to Patreon but I haven't bothered with the Extra Butter chat since. It's mostly the same few people over there anyway and a lot of extra-curricular stuff (non-movie related). I still check it out fairly regularly, but haven't had the urge to post.
