Stephen Last

A fun Olympic movie to watch, if you haven't seen it is Cool Runnings. It's about the Jamaican Bobsled team and stars John Candy.

Stephen Last

Mary McCormack who played the sheriff's wife, was in the West Wing and Deep Impact.

Jacob Colson

And she was a little hottie in Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star.

Cole Jennett

She has seen it Stephen. She mentioned it when she did an Olympics poll back during the Summer Olympics in 24

Chris Thom

Is that a comedy? Sounds vaguely familiar.

CJ Holden

Back in the late 90s and 00s German TV networks had the habit of filling the prime time slots during summer breaks with random movies. Basically lots of straight-to-video stuff that not many people had heard of. I discovered lots of surprisingly good (or at least fun) movies there, including this! It's incredible that a movie from THAT writer with THAT cast could fly under the radar like that. And I admit, it's nothing special, but it is a really entertaining feel good and chuckle movie. It's easy to see why it apparently bombed so hard in the US that it was dumped on video in most of the world, but I feel like it should be at least a better known cult classic by now. Also I always thought that Canadians' love for Ice Hockey was a cliche, but when I went to Toronto a few years ago, I saw that they actually have ice hockey players on their money! :D

Clarence Newman

Great thumbnail. I shall watch this later once the curling has finished.

Joe J

This one dies a quick death on YT, Cassie's PPoTM streak continues, LOL.

Clarence Newman

Nonsense. Given the current surge in popularity of curling (for this week at least, it is statistically more popular than baseball and soccer combined), not to mention the delightful carnage of short track speed skating, it has made ordinary folks from all walks of life yearn for anything that can be done on ice skates. Thusly, I am confident Mystery, Alaska will ride the wave to north of 100k.

Joe J

Yeah...the excitement is palpable.🙄

Clarence Newman

My thoughts exactly! I've made it known to Rebecca Morrison, in a totally non-creepy DM, that I am prepared to have her babies.

Jimmy

But WHEN will she (they) watch Always with Richard Dreyfus!

Above Average Dave

It's a mystery wrapped in an enigma and bundled with a hockey team!

Christian Becker

A very nice and wholesome movie, and a good ending, too! And now we (Germany) are shamefully out of the Olympic hockey tournament — go Team Canada!

Chris Thom

It came in fifth in the poll.

John A

Michael McKean was in this for about a minute. Another movie he's in that you should watch is the Brady Bunch movie, but I don't know if it's as hilarious if you don't get the references. I was watching the scenes from the show while watching the movie to understand and I was dying laughing, but obviously you can't do that for a reaction

Stephen Dias

I've never seen this, but I must, especially after seeing Cassie and Carly's faces in this picture.

Bill Maurer

Believe this was filmed in Alberta. Kananaskis or Canmore

Clay F

A wholesome movie with language (e.g., F-bomb 32 times) and infidelity. I was surprised during my only watch of the movie (along w/the reaction). So during the reaction, I checked and sure enough the movie rate R for pervasive language, some sexual content, and brief nudity. For some reason, I thought the movie (which I had not seen) was rated PG or PG-13.

Clay F

YT views = 21k (1 day)

CJ Holden

I love the Brady Bunch movie. One of my favourite subtle gags in that one is that when the Bradys speak, they always seem to pause for a moment, as if they are waiting for the laugh track.

CJ Holden

It Germany it has a 6 rating. We really don't care about language, non-graphic sex and comical butt nudity. :D Even The Big Lebowski is suitable for German kids from the age of 12!

Joe J

Who is the target audience for this movie? R rating definitely hurt the US box-office.

Joe J

Her PPoTM streak is unbroken, lol.

Christian Becker

Joh, sometimes I really don’t understand the US rating system. That one is R-rated? WTF? But concerning cursing, that’s what CJ Holden said. We in Germany are not that deterred by language in movies ;-) And I myself, as a Bavarian, have a variety of colourful idioms in usage ;-)

Clay F

My mom will tolerate one F-bomb. But after the 2nd F-bomb, she turns the movie off.

Richard Maurer

As an American, I can say America has weird hang-ups about sex, nudity, and weirdest of all, swearing.

Richard Maurer

She also played Howard Stern’s wife in Private Parts.
