MORE Badtobers!! Days 18-26 (Patreon)

Hello Patrons!

Here are even more of my Badtober entries. I almost gave up but then I didn't!!! My friend Ayla told me I was too absorbed in making them good, putting in too much effort. This was exactly true. So for the past two days I have been putting in next to zero effort and its very fun!

Day 18: STICKER BOMB

This day, I drew the doggy knight character with a sticker-bombed helmet. I am REALLY obsessed with how this came out. Grungey yet clean,, and fun colors! I sketched it out in colored pencil or something, and then did the color with copic markers. I colored over all the copic with a chartreuse color, which gave it the yellow green hue. And I think either before all of this or after, I did the lineart with a pink marker/pen. Maybe before, as a sketch.. But then I added the black ink at the very end and did a lot of smudging to make it grungey. I was obviously very stylistically inspired by Jamie Hewlett!

Day 19: THE DARKNESS

This prompt was made for the sole reason to allow me to draw Batman. But then in the future, I was not very into the idea of drawing Batman, but it would be wrong not to. I liked the idea of this drawing better than the execution, but I think its funny and it reminds me of the art from The Long Halloween!

Day 20: Free Day

Day 21: SURRENDER YOURSELF COMPLETELY

I skipped this day, almost quit Badtober!

Day 22-23: REMARKABLE, BRILLIANT COLORS & TRANSIT

Perhaps not the most remarkable or brilliant colors, but I was struggling to even continue Badtober. I used a pink posca base for this drawing which was fun, though, and colored with copics on top. It's sorta weird and not great drawing. Maybe I don't like the colors or some aspect of the composition. But I really wanted to draw the SamTrans bus that I used to take during college, as I rode on it from beginning to end almost every day! But I drew an older model of the buses that they used to have when I was in middle school. The seats were so tall and it was much more private and comfy.. But for everybody's safety, I understand why they changed the bus layout.

I inked on top of all that and then colored the sky and clouds with posca.

Day 24 - 26: DASTARDLY & RAIN FALLING ON ME

I don't really know what dastardly means except like "you dastardly little man"... So I used this as an excuse to draw Batman yet again, because his very simple silhouette would make it fun to experiment with stencils! I drew his shape, cut it out, and used the stencil to draw a charcoal batman inside. It is so jank but so fun!

Day 25 was a free day, but 26 was rain! Ayla suggested I should draw Melon getting a bath because she hates it and it would be moody and sad and that was a great idea. But I also thought Batman could be moody in Gotham rain, so I did both! I drew more of Batman's cape behind him and then repeated the previous day's process to draw a little charcoal melon.. So sweet.. Then I drew the light blue rain with a marker and the dark rain with a colored pencil. The marker on charcoal was reacting strangely so I had to change mediums. But the effect is so neat its like the color burn blending mode irl..
