I really like this episode! season 8's pacing and plot has been kinda janky but I think this episode did a good job at showing multiple different perspectives without feeling rushed or slowed down. I feel so bad for Jadis. I know she's been an ass this entire season but no one deserves to watch ALL their people die 😭😭 I understand why Rick decided to leave her tho.

It's actually the 2nd time Simon pulled a move like that. Simon was the one who got all men and boys killed at ocean side. Negan wouldn't have done that ever. That's what Negan meant when he said "Are we backsliding, Simon? Please tell me we're not backsliding.", to Simon when they had that one meeting. I just wanted to clear that out because i only see people blaming Negan for ocean side when it was actually Simon. The only thing i don't understand why Negan let that slide in the first place...

Hey so this is actually kinda a spoiler 😅 - they don’t tell us that yet until later this season I think. I do think you can infer that he did but they didn’t come out and spell it out for me and my mom until later down the line. So yeah just keep in mind when you’re commenting yall! I think it was so weird the tried to make us feel for negan by bringing his wife up but he himself said he was an asshole to her. Where is my empathy for this sociopath supposed to come from if he was also terrible before the world ended ? Nothing could ever make me like this man. Ps: thanks for the reaction, your mom impressions of negan was so good even involuntary 🤣

Negans logic is so severely flawed about them being "Saviors" lol Rick's group didn't need "saving"!

One thing that pisses me off is that Negan destroyed Alexandria instead of just putting another one of his crew stations there. IT HAD SOLAR PANELS AND RUNNING WATER FOR FUCKS SAKE. He's STUPID. That could've been so helpful for humanity in general but no, he wants to blow stuff upp

I feel a little bad for the garbage people.... they are threatened by Rick to join them or die and then the Saviors are saying to join them or die... they were caught in between two groups at war with each other, trying to take the side of the group that felt like the bigger threat and that could offer them more. They made the wrong choices but I don't think they all deserved to die like that. I didn't like that Rick was only interested in them because they could help him... once he seen they were all dead and couldn't benefit his cause he had no interest in helping Jadis escape... complete opposite of how Carl wanted him to go forward.

True but I found it interesting that at the end of season 5, Rick said to the Alexandrians at that meeting 'I was thinking... how many of you do I have to kill to save you'.... the logic of that was similar to how Negan thinks... killing one person helps save the lives of his people.

Interesting perspective for sure! I do feel like it's a different because Rick was trying to show the reality to a bunch of sheltered people while taking measures to actually keep them safe and they were too afraid of change. Negan is taking fully functional communities that already have food and guns and fighters and just breaking them down to work for HIM. If he actually cared about them he wouldn't be taking all their food and supplies. The only one he is saving is himself

That's very true; on the surface it seems like they're using similar logic of killing to save, but the true circumstances and motives are completely different. Rick was saying that in terms of, "How many of you am I gonna have to kill because you're endangering the rest of us" since all of those people were inexperienced/naive, but Negan was doing it for his own sick and selfish reasons, using the excuse of "saving" them to justify it.
