With all the big changes beta12 made, it was unavoidable that it would still have some bugs in it. Unfortunately, those bugs were pretty obvious and I clearly should have caught them in my own testing. But I didn’t, so here is the next beta that fixes the blatant issues with the previous one.

  • Fixed the spell sheets not showing spells for feats, races, magic items, or the Mystic;
  • Fixed issues with the skills (passive perception, jack of all trades, companion page);
  • Fixed issue with cantrip die for cantrips that have multiple different uses of it (like Booming Blade);
  • Fixed issue with the Life Domain cleric and its effect on spell descriptions;
  • Fixed level 20 not being attainable by increasing the number of experience points;
  • Fix the wrong ability scores being used for skills on the companion page on the Printer Friendly sheets, when the skills are not sorted alphabetically. 


I would like to thank everybody who reported issues with beta12. The speed with which you gave feedback really shows your continued support for the product. Please keep the feedback coming for this next iteration of the v13 beta.


Just like v13.0.0beta12 and the betas before it, this beta can't import a character from one of the previous betas (v13.0.0beta - v13.0.0beta12). This is a precaution, not a bug! This is done because the sheet can't accommodate all the intermediary changes that I had implemented in the other betas without being too convoluted. You will be able to import from v12.999 and older sheets, as well as from another v13.0.0beta13.

I noticed this with v12, but didn't get a chance to mention it. When using the "predictive search" for magic items and feats, when you select an option, it populates the item or feat that would be located directly above the intended selection on the full list. (i.e. If I select Elven Accuracy as a feat, it populates Elemental Adept, but only if I started to type Elven Accuracy. If I simply scroll through the full list and select Elven Accuracy, it populates correctly.

On a somewhat related note, the "predictive search" doesn't work for Background Traits. I don't know if this is intentional or broken.

I'm using the Printer Friendly Redesign, and I'm currently seeing some problems with items autofilling. Currently, I haven't tested much, but Class/Race features did not autofill onto the first page, and none of the class feature text appeared on the second page or any others. The option for choosing class features (like a fighting style) appeared, but text did not update in the Page 2 note box. I'll keep messing around to see if I'm doing something weird with how I'm selecting things.

I have just downloaded this newest version and am having difficulty with the warforged jugernaut integrated protection. With a skirmisher I get the option to select the integrated protection, but with jugernaut it doesn't show up

I am starting to get the feeling that there will never be an end to the betas. I would love to be able to import characters at some point, but if the product remains in perpetual beta, this will never happen. Is there a light at the end of this tunnel?

Thank you for reporting any issues you find with the betas! There seems to be an issue with races that grant extra carrying capacity (Powerful Build). I will make sure to fix it in the next beta!

That is good, the Ring of Protection should give you +1 AC and +1 on all your saving throws. Nowhere in its rules says it anything about increasing your spell save DC.

Too bad you feel this way. I had greatly overestimated how fast I could incorporate the magic items into the sheet. There are so many of them and they have such complex rules that it just takes a lot of time. I'm doing this all on my own and am only able to transcribe so many things in a day. Every time I put up a new beta I hope it is free of bugs so that I can just focus on getting more magic items transcribed. Currently there are some 110 items done (out of around 500) and progress is slow.

Thank you for reporting any issues you find with the betas! I haven't come across the sheet acting like this. Most of the time it has to do with the specific class (or subclass) producing an error and thus making the sheet stop processing it. The same goes for a race, it could produce an error and thus not being completely processed. Having it happen to both is unlikely though, but not impossible. Can you please tell me what class, subclass, level, and race you are experiencing this issue with? It can also help to make sure you are using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat (current latest is version 2019.01.20098). You can check what version you are using in the menu: Help >> About Adobe Acrobat.

Hi there. A bug related to using the proficiency die. Passive perception does not seem to get the normal proficiency bonus in beta 13. Related question: Ability save DC also does not get the average added, is that by design?

Thank you for reporting any issues you find with the betas! You are correct, both the Passive Perception and Ability Save DC should be adding the proficiency bonus, regardless of it being set to proficiency die. I will make sure to fix this in the next version!

I know this might be a long shot, but I could really use the ability to add another page ala the 'background and organization' page. I often have the need for 3-4 more images with some text. Hope that might be considered at some time. And then just a HUGE thx for all the work put into this. So wonderful :) Cheers

The background page doesn't really make sense to me to duplicate. Especially on the Printer Friendly sheets where that page also contains information like age, eye colour, weight, etc. I have also never found it necessary to have multiples of that page, but every campaign is different. I don't think this is a feature I will ever implement. However, you can generate an extra page yourself. Just run the following code from the JavaScript console (a.k.a. JavaScript Debugger), which you can open with the "JS Console" button from the script import dialogs. tDoc.getTemplate("ASbackgr").spawn(4, true, false); The 4 in the line above is the 0-index page number where the new page will appear. You will probably want to make this the same as the page number of your current Background page. This will create a copy of the current Background page, but afterwards you can change the fields independently.

Hi! The sheet threw an error today when I was working on building a character. Here's the text: The prerequisite check code (prereqeval) for 'maddening hex (prereq: level 5 warlock, hex spell or warlock feature that curses)' of the 'eldritch invocations' feature produced an error! Please contact the author of the feature to correct this issue: ReferenceError: spCast is not defined fileName: Document-Level:FunctionsSpells; lineNumber: 5534; columnNumber: 0; I had not picked any invocations yet, but I picked a Pact feature (of the blade). The character was sitting at Pali 7/Warlock 4 before went to Warlock 6, and the page triggered the error.

Thank you for reporting any issues you find with the betas! Would you be so kind to please provide some more information. I have no issues making a barbarian with the beta13, but there might be something else that is interfering. For example, it could be the difference in subclass you are using, or the race you selected prior to adding the class, or feat, magic items, etc. It is currently known that beta13 has a bug with all races that have the Powerful Build trait. If you first select the Goliath race and then add a class, almost none of the class abilities will load. What I am trying to say is: can you please tell me how to reproduce this issue, starting with a freshly downloaded sheet?

Hello, I see what you mean. The goliath and Firbolg, both were not showing any stats with the barbarian class. I also noticed that the Bugbear, Goliath, Firbolg, Loxodon, and Orc races do not show racial stat modifiers in the abilities section. I do notice if i choose a different race the barbarian stats show up, i can then switch to the Goliath and just input the racial modifiers after. Hopefully that's a better explaination! Thanks!

I love how you've laid out the info for the new Artificer class. You have a wonderful knack of stream lining the info to fit on your spell sheet lines. I love it. Just wondering, on the Artificer spell sheet's first column (ME) you have SP marked before the first iteration of Lesser Restoration. What does it stand for and do you think you could pop it on the Glossary Abbreviation Box? Thanks for your time. :)

When a spell is listed twice for the same class on the spell sheet, like Lesser Restoration does for the new Artificer, means that it was gained from some kind of feature and is also available on the spell list. The "SP" is there to indicate that that line is the one gained from a SPecial feature. Most of these features are usable once per long rest, once per short rest, or at will, and than the first column will reflect that. The new UA artificer is the only one that has a feature that deviates from this, so I made up a new entry for the first column just for the Alchemical Mastery feature. You can read an explanation for this when you look at the tooltip of the description field and when you open the dialog to show the spell's details. Because this is such an uncommon occurrence, and for playtest material, I will not be changing the glossary for it.

In the next beta, can we get all the 'dragonmark' races grouped together so that they're easier to exlude? Or, is there an easier way to exlude them all at once?

I have been toying with the idea of making the race drop-down just have the main races and that you select the subraces in the pop-up dialog, just as it works for racial variants at the moment in the betas. However, such a change is not a simple one and will require re-writing all the code for all the races. It is not something that I envision will be part of v13, maybe v13.3 or something like that. However, even that wouldn't solve your issue, as the dragonmarks are all subraces of different races and not one race with different subraces. So, this information is no help to you and I was just ranting, my apologies. The easiest way to exclude all those races is to exclude the source(s) that they came with.

Possible bug here; I just changed the race of a character (after choosing class and background already) and the sheet has wiped all of the Class Features, Background Feature and Racial Traits boxes. I can't type anything in these boxes either.

Thank you for reporting any issues you find with the betas! What races was this with (before and after changing) and what class? Can you reproduce it with a freshly downloaded sheet? If you don't see any of the form fields anymore, it could just be that Acrobat isn't drawing them properly. Saving the sheet and opening it again is often the answer to that.

Hi MPMB, Possible issue with Beta 13. Loaded a fresh sheet - firbolg Order cleric - No class features are loading at any level. Racial features are filled. When generating the spell sheet Class Spells are filled but Racial spells are not. Tested with other races &amp; order cleric with same result. Also tested seperately with the Latest version of Safety-Oranges V13 script with same effect.

For the Kensei Monk, I'd like a choose feature option to add Kensei Weapons. I also once had an issue with Unarmored defense only taking the CON score into account, but I have yet to be able to duplicate it, so I'm not sure what happened there.

Not sure if this was noticed or mentioned already, but there are missing items from the magic items list. I've noticed that the +1/+2/+3 shields aren't in there as well as the sentinel shield. Efreeti Chain isn't listed in there as well.

Sorry for my late response. I took some time to think over your proposition for the Kensei monk. At first I thought it would be too unwieldy, but recent changes with the v13 betas actually makes it quite easy to do what you suggest. So I went ahead and coded it for the XGtE Kensei. You can expect this feature to be available in beta14 :)

It is certainly possible to add any creatures you like. Just transcribe it to the proper JavaScript syntax and import the file using the "Add Extra Materials" bookmark.
