Continued Progress! (Blog) (Patreon)

Hey, hope everyone is going well. Check out this mad waterfall I captured while filming the 6-parter last week, I fucking love it! There is a second, wider one you'll eventually see in the video too. But I want to get into how things are coming along lately, I'm in far less of a dramatic mood this week compared to last BUT, there is still a high level of stress regarding these projects.

6-Parter Progress) After this big filming session recently, the project is closer to 60-65% filmed! That's massive. While this particular episode isn't fully finished yet, all I have left to shoot is an extended segment at the end of the video, meaning I can get started on the post-production phase! BUT ON TOP OF THAT, Episode 2 out 6 was COMPLETED AND RENDERED less than 2 hours from when I'm writing this!!! :D

One down, five more to go!

But yeah, while I'm still incredibly behind with Nitro Fueled basically on the doorstep and feeling like this project just isn't making the progress it should be. It IS STILL making progress, which is the important part. The hopes are in the next 3-4 weeks, that I can film the rest of episodes 1, 3, 4 and possibly 6. Episode 5 of this series is probably the only one that can have a little delay on the filming, however I still want it done ASAP.

Crash: Nitro Fueled) Now this episode, obviously has a serious time constraint attached to it. Got to have it up while the game is still relevant, which is such a sad thing to say for what looks like a whopper game so far. But that's just how it is. However, I'm debating trying to get the thing up right away, or giving time until first Grand Prix event with free additions. Waiting means that the review can be a little more complete, as well as having some extra wiggle room to juggle the 6-Parter in there. But the flip side is that I might miss that sweet time frame. I'd love CTR up by the 28th of June, so a week after release. Waiting for the first event on July 5th would mean the video couldn't be up until the 12th of July, 3 weeks after release. So yeah, not sure what I'm going to do there.

As for the rest of the content coming for the game, I'm not sure what to do really. I might do a gameplay video for each event as they appear, similar to the Stormy Ascent gameplay video from 2017. Or I could save it all for a follow up review of the new content some time down the line, once it's all released... OR DO BOTH, I'm not totally sure yet. Either way, I get the feeling that the next time the channel will see a new upload, will be the Nitro Fueled review. It sucks but that's just how things are right now.

June Patreon Podcast) I was on the fence about this, but I've made my final decision. This month's exclusive podcast simply can't happen guys and I'm really sorry about that. With everything going on, I can't justify the 2 hours it takes to record even if I could hand the editing off. There is just no time for anything right now unfortunately. And yeah, I hate that it's gotten to a point where I'm failing to deliver these paid rewards. But I think we can all agree, the quality of primary Square Eyed Jak content is more important. I PROMISE you'll get a podcast in July though, by then I will have a little more wiggle room!

Tony Hawktober) Finally, let's quickly talk about Hawktober progress. I'm only playing games so far but I'm 4 down, with 13 more to go! Once I'm done with this blog, I actually have game 5 already setup to get through. I'm not entirely sure how many episodes there are going to be this year, however, I feel like they'll be similar to Year One's episodes, meaning they'll be shorter. 10-12 minute average instead of the 20-25 average set last year. Being that they're shorter, it'll make them a lot more efficient to produce in all this chaos and with more shorter videos, they'll hopefully be a lot more focused too!

Closing Thoughts) So that's where we're at. Like I've said countless times, I hate having no content going up on the channel but this project just needs to get done. I can't take anything from this year into 2020, I want a fresh start for new ideas next year. And part of the reason it's been such a mess in 2019, is the fact that EVERYTHING is the result of something I dreamed up LAST YEAR, or the YEAR BEFORE! So this stuff has got to get done, nuff said. Again, apologies for the lack of a podcast this month. Just know it's in the best interest of Square Eyed Jak episodes and my own sanity! :)
