Just wait and see what happens when rates come down

The purchasing power of our income has been severely eroded due to rampant currency inflation and reckless fiscal policies, including excessive money printing. As a result, what were once considered high prices are now simply the new normal. The real concern is no longer the nominal price of assets like real estate, but rather the issue of affordability. It's not about how much something costs, but whether people can realistically afford it in this distorted economic environment.

As I say, money printing floats all boats but really it is debasement at the end of the day aka reduced PP (*Purchasing Power)

Retail is broke. Didn't you just show graph on credit card debt? As WEF has stated, " you will own nothing and be happy".

Does someone have the 'ask a question' link for me? I am on a holiday so no access to my bookmarks

The push to build more homes is pretty intense in Canada atm, as if that will magically solve the affordability issue. Increasing supply will barely keep up, if at all, with increasing demand driven through aggressive immigration policies. The gov created a housing gap, driving up demand and prices and using the supply issue as the scapegoat rather than addressing the real issue, which is running extreme deficit spending, interest payments on a ballooning national debt, speculation in the market since cdn RE has been (inappropriately) used as a bonafide store of value, and an endless cycle of currency debasement. I don't think either political party changes the hum of that tune, but we'll see once PP kicks JT out, whether the ol housing minister has any aces up his sleeve (he is pro btc after all)

The buying of residential housing by corporations, hedge funds, etc. needs to be outlawed - and those currently holding them forced to divest.

Btc & Sol will have runs for the ages next year to outpace this madness.

Seems it started when Warren Buffet recommended SF housing for institutional investment during the 2008 meltdown.

Worth or have a valuation of? Two very different things. I work in property in Portugal. Lisbon has just seen the biggest increase in luxury house prices in the world, little old Lisboa.

Local governments love that the cost of a home is going up, because they make more in property taxes.

Money hasn’t been printed since 2021. So please stop saying that inflation is due to money printing. The reserve hasn’t printed money since 2021.

Lost my home in 2020 due to pandemic job loss (UK) and now feel like its a lost cause to ever be an owner again 😩

They printed so much money that they didn’t need to after that.
