Jim Farley is a guy who does not mince words.

Ford CEO Jim Farley in a new interview: "I was very humbled when we took apart the first Tesla Model 3. When we took it apart, it was shocking what we found."

Farley said Ford's Mustang Mach-E had around 1.6 km more electrical wiring than the old Tesla Model 3 (he should check out the new Y), adding extra weight to the car and requiring a much bigger and more expensive battery. The teardowns convinced him the company had to change to match its new rivals.

A few weeks ago, he said the Chinese EV makers are so far ahead there is no way we can compete. Ford are hinging their future on their skunkworks unit to reinvent the electric car—which I believe will put them where Tesla was in 2021 and none of this will be ready until 2028....

Also, rumors are they are going to start killing off models starting with their Ford F-150 Lightning. Needless to say, Legacy Car Makers are in hot water. We will short them when the time is right if there is any juice left to squeeze.

I have 65 and 67.5 synthetic shorts on GM out for 2028. Currently slightly in the red. GM holds up while the rest of my port trends down. LOLOL

I was thinking about shorting GM and Stellantis, but only did so for short periods. Almost any legacy car brand is a valid short thesis at this point. The US and European ones definitely. Some of the Asians might get their act together.
