Hello strangers, let's do something cool together. (Patreon)

Hello everyone
long time no see or rather no read. I hope you’re all doing well and have been across the weird times we found ourselves in since we last spoke.
After my absence (unfortunately many things have been consuming and difficult at times but things are generally easing) I wanted to try and do something nice together. So I have an idea and I NEED YOU, info below. But first …
IF YOU’RE NOT IN OUR COMMUNITY YOU’RE MISSING OUT
I’ve been back in our exclusive DivKid Patreon community server and channels on Discord and I’d strongly urge anyone that’s not on there to create a free Discord account and link that to your Patreon. More on how to do that at the link below. The community on Discord (all Patreon supporters) is over 500 strong now and it’s an amazing group of people sharing ideas, tips, tricks, patch ideas, information, music, performances and more. The Discord server is where I hang out and chat daily, so you should absolutely be there as your Patreon support is what grants access to it.
We have a QUESTION OF THE DAY channel where we focus discussions and recent topics have included getting more from your VCAs and diving deeper into getting better results with FM synthesis. Such a range of experiences and ideas were shared, welcome, encouraged and discussed it’s really a lovely part of the online synth community. So do join us there.

I NEED YOU
As something nice to mark my return from a long absence I’m working on a video that shares all the good things about the modular synth space and community.
I’d love for you to get involved simply by sending me a quick phone video simply saying what’s good about the modular synth space.
A phone (horizontal, not vertical video please) filming yourself, selfie style is plenty. So this is super low effort. Your answer may be “working with modular has allowed me to make my own unique instrument” or “I’ve learnt more about sound synthesis from patching modular systems than anything else I’ve ever done” or maybe you want to compliment the community, mention how it’s allowed you to start prototyping and developing your own gear. Anything positive about the modular community, your experience or the gear is welcome. So ...
1. Think about what you love about modular - the gear, DIY, communities, synthesis, technology, sound etc
2. Film yourself speaking about this (horizontal not vertical please) on your smart phone. Answers may be really short that’s fine, longer is fine too but short is good. Of course if you’re set up to use a nicer camera and mic set up do so.
3. Send that video to me. Use WeTransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive etc and send me a link to the file (please do not embed files). Please email this ben@divkidvideo.com with PATREON USER VIDEO in the subject, your name, preferred screen name (so I can credit you, a username is fine for example) and a link you’d like me to include about you along with the link to the file in the email body please.
4. Do this ASAP please. For those wanting to get involved hopefully it's quick and simple to send over quickly.
ROUND OFF
Please do send me a video as outlined above, I’d love to hear from you. I think it’s going to be really motivating and I know for me helpful to get back into things. Do join our Discord community, you’re missing out if not. I’ll be back with more soon, including video demos in the coming few weeks. So here’s to a great round off to an otherwise weird year!
All the best and chat soon!
p.s. Stupid face in the picture - I wanted a picture, needed a picture and that happened. Some of you wanted a glimpse into the stupid while there’s a bit of a glimpse, behind my big stupid face. Enjoy!p.p.s. RE the community video - if I get lots of response to this it’s likely I won’t be able to use all of what’s sent in. Don’t feel bad if I don’t use something but remember I’ll massively appreciate everyone’s efforts to get involved and these messages will be great for potential future use too.
