You can now take a full Excel user form — buttons, pictures, search, filters and all — and have it rebuilt as a working application inside Google Sheets, which is something I told you wasn't possible when we first did this training.
That was the one real limitation before. Google Sheets simply has no user forms, so if your Excel app lived inside a form, the conversion stopped at the data and you lost the part that actually made it feel like an application. I've updated the XLSM to Google Sheets skill so it now ports user forms directly, and I proved it out live by dragging our Contact Manager into Claude and letting it rebuild the whole thing — contact database, interaction database, admin settings, search, show-only-active, filters, the lot. Select a contact and it loads. Select an interaction and the details load beside it. Save an edit and the list updates itself, exactly the way it behaves in Excel.
A few other things went in while I was at it. You can now add and update contact pictures from a browse button, a URL, a Google Drive file ID, or a share link, and it drops into the right spot instead of getting scattered across individual cells — that one took some back and forth with Claude before it cooperated. I also added a full email feature, so you can send a contact straight out through Gmail from inside the sheet, with subject and message, no Outlook required. Every script also runs two ways now — from the on-sheet buttons or from a drop-down menu — and if your buttons ever get knocked out of place, there's a rebuild script that clears and redraws them all in a few seconds. Worth knowing going in: Excel still wins on raw speed, since Sheets runs through a browser and you'll feel a small delay on selection. Google Sheets wins everything else — sharing, syncing, mobile, and you can ask Claude to lay it out for phones if you want that.
Head into your Claude settings, open Skills, and upload the updated skill file, then drag the Contact Manager in and watch it rebuild itself.
This is exactly the kind of thing your membership is for — I said the user form problem was a wall, then went back and knocked it down, and you get the finished skill rather than the ten iterations it took to get there. Keep sending me your ideas within three to five days of a YouTube launch and they'll make it into updates like this one.
