TO BE HERO X

Blood Of Mine

To keep the vibes I'd recommend: Black Lagoon dub or sub.

Cronshaw

Black Lagoon

Jet Man

Overlord. Bebop and Champloo both followed after a 3 episode trial of Overlord that passed the checkpoint. Seems fitting that it would circle back to it now.

JoeyGuy7

Let's do another old show. I say gundam 8th ms team

Jack Allen

Shangri La Frontier. It’s better than Overlord and I don’t see any way Tony dislikes. Remember we’re trying to make him enjoy himself 😂

Markus

Black Lagoon preferably dubbed

Chrisman

Golden Kamuy

Tuny kun

God such a fun trip. Fun fact, the ending song is called San Francisco by Midicronica which is hilarious to me as a Californian.

GardeninTool

Im throwing down a curve ball. Uma musume: Cinderella Gray Its a sport anime with a wild concept, but the writing, animation and emotions behind the competition are peak.

Khalil Huq

I love Samurai Champloo. Epitome of the journey means more than the destination

S

One of the few anime that adapts the video game world almost perfectly imo. So much detail was put into SLF.

neZiiak

Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex

Jet Man

Some live... Some die... That's just the way of the Samurai... But for this group, not today.

Robert F

Great ending. I absolutely love the coin flip reveal.

Walt D

I remember that Jet Man recommended Castlevania. That is a good one if you can get through the 3-4 "Season 1" episodes that set everything up. I believe it was like a test or something. After that it is more lore heavy and epic. It would be a good idea to briefly brush up on the Belmont family tree and Castlevania lore, to enjoy fully.

Cswerve

Golden Kamuy

Walt D

Hey Jet Man. If you recommended Castlevania again, do you think Tony could make it past the short season 1 to the epic stuff?

S

Ooh yeah. Great, especially since Steins Gate 0 is almost done; it would be a cool replacement.

Jet Man

I wanted to recommend Castlevania, but it was either that or Overlord. Ya see, I follow instructions and only pitch ONE show. 😅

Jet Man

Pretty sure Link Click and Summertime Rendering will be on the vote after Steins;Gate is fully done. Enough people have been asking for those two titles for AGES as they are both time travel shows.

Inosek

''Baccano'' for sure for the next one. This show kinda goes together with Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. I was expecting it to go automatically after Champloo lmao.

Red Menace

im going to recommend Overlord too, especially after his reaction to the first 3 episodes, im just worried about how well he will like it once the perspective shifts you know?

Red Menace

lol, normally id say no, but i swore he wouldn't like kaguya sama because he was burned out on high school, and its high school romance, but he loved it, didn't think he would like sports anime, but hes big into sports, so who knows

Red Menace

im torn between that and overlord, but hes already watched the first three of overlord, and theres more overlord lol, plus the overlord movie, ima have to go overlord, but i do think shangri la frontier would be a GREAT follow up.

Red Menace

OVERLORD Honestly was torn between Overlord and Shangri La Frontier, but i think overlord just eeks it out, but i do think shangri la could be a good follow up. OVERLORD

Lulu

I am here once again to promote Madoka Magica. Music is incredible, story and visuals are unique and it's short. I think Tony would very much appreciate it.

peeps

Was gonna switch it up and throw out Castlevania since I haven't seen it recommended in a while but lo and behold someone already mentioned it. So I guess we're back with another Girls und Panzer recommendation.

Klarin Black

My recommendation would be Bungo Stray Dogs, surprisingly haven’t seen it often here

Lulu

Amazing ending. It was fun to rewatch since I didn't even remember how it ended it was like watching it for the first time again.

S

Cool

James Long

Black Lagoon, English dub.

Dracul von Carstein

Man the soundtrack where Jin comes in like a Motherfucker, is so gooood. GOATED anime for sure. If you want a comedy/sport mix anime, i would highly recommend Hajime no Ippo. It's a boxing anime and in my opinion the best sports anime out there. Extremely funny but sometimes quite serious too.

Niklas Neumann

In the last episode the samurai that smells like sunflowers said that mugen can't rely on insincts and reaction alone if he wants to be a good fighter. In his last fight he used his intellect and planned a few steps ahead. Character progression, ladys and gentleman.

Fuji Nami

Heavenly Delusion but it might belong in cringe, it's an edge case

Jet Man

It can honestly go in any Tier. Tier 3 is the Speed Run/Adult tier now.

Hermit

I recommend Space Dandy! Since you liked Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, you might also like this one. It's made by the same director (Watanabe) as those two and its mostly standalone episodes too. There's some really wild concepts in this one

Hermit

Aaah, my bad! Can't wait for it then 👍

Hermit

Monster is such a good one. I don't know how the anime holds up but if it's anything like the manga its a must watch

Alamun

I recommend Kokkoku.

Lora

To Be Hero X

Hermit

Where did the squirrel go btw?

Jet Man

Oh fuck. It bailed out 🤣

Danyul

+1 to madoka magica

Jarod S

Such a great show, the open ended finale especially I think really elevates it (my head cannon being that the ending credits show Jin going to meet Shino from the architecture he’s seen walking past). In terms of next show, lot of good recommendations so far, but I think Banana Fish would be a good follow-up.

Sprucefer

Ranking of Kings

Walt D

🤣

Belac

The mom didn't use him as the fall guy. Fuu grew up thinking her dad was dead. it was her mom on her death bed that revealed her dad was still alive. The mom wasn't mad at the dad, but Fuu never got an explanation for why he never came back and left her sick mom to die.

Rain Wu

shirobako. A very entertaining show, even though it’s a different style from samurai champloo, it would be a meaningful watch if you are interested in how anime is made in Japan.

Scooter Liar

Barakamon, such an underrated slice of life anime.

FpsRaptor

I would honestly recommend Hajime no Ippo its an excellent Boxing anime

Jeff

Baccano

Unbeknownst Man

I like a couple of the recommendations here already, but I think it's time: you have to watch Kaiji.

marlin

Baccano if you want a mystery that makes you use your head also the dub is really good

Szayel H

Time to binge-watch these reactions now

Roluchi

Not enough people give Baccano a chance so this would be great. The dub truly makes a better experience especially with a larger cast

Buddhism and Shintoism have had a profound influence on Japanese lifestyle, but Japanese people are largely unaware of religion. Currently, only 1.5% of the Japanese population is Christian, which is a very small percentage. Nagasaki is the only region where Christianity first entered Japan, and even now, it has a higher percentage of Christians than other regions. The setting for ‘Apollon on the Slope’ is Nagasaki, which is the region with the highest percentage of Christians in Japan. From the year 200 to 1873, people were required to pay taxes to the government in the form of gold or rice. Nagasaki, with its extremely limited flat land, could not produce large quantities of rice, leading to prolonged poverty and hardship for its people. This made it easier for Christianity to spread there compared to other regions. I am from Nagasaki and graduated from the same high school as Sentaro and Bon. Among the graduates of this high school is Keita Ogawa, the percussionist of Snarky Puppy. He also played jazz drums at bars frequented by American soldiers during his high school days, just like Sentaro.

Zach Harding

I second the 1997 berserk, it's such a sick show. Different themes but very old-school and just a cool series
