This was so helpful! Thank you!

How long do you expect to use the stroller with Denver? Until he is 4 or 6 month old? How do you make an outing positive (not just neutral)? Is it by rewarding engagement with handler around distractions?

DOGGY•U

I'll use it until he's had his third round of shots in high-traffic dog areas and for trips where he's not ready to make good decisions on the ground. So till about 16 weeks or so. Yes, so positive can be chewing on something yummy, rewarding for engagement, playing tug, praise, personal play. Anything that makes the interaction good for your dog in a way they find rewarding.

Really nicely broken down. I absolutely loved the use of my stroller with the puppy!

Hii Laura! So my question is about adult socialization, but I think it applies to puppies as well. How can I train my SD to ignore other dogs, particularly yappy and lungey dogs?

DOGGY•U

Engage disengage game. Create the distance your dog needs by starting with a captive audience like a dog park and work from there. You can also play dogs barking and pair it with food as a starter (press play on dogs barking, reward, turn off sound, repeat.) But look up the engage disengage game here (and on youtube) for how I train neutrality around all things.
